Ultimately, eternal security is being saved by the blood of Jesus and confessing him as your savior. :)

No this is just what the Bible says. Faith without works is dead.
Coby -

James' dissertation was saying that if you don't start acting differently after you think you've been saved... then maybe you haven't been saved at all.

He is saying that the works that start to come from you after being saved is the PROOF that you've been saved.

I was in your shoes just a few days ago - not understanding that book myself ... once he opens your eyes to it you will "SMH" because it's so blatant. :)

God leads us to all truth In Christ with His Spirit ... keep "labouring" to understand (seek and you will find) ... be willing to be moved by God's Spirit about the truth.

What you said has absolutely no bearing on the fact salvation is a gift.

Yes, we can mistreat God's gift - and we do when we sin - but that doesn't negate what it is.

Using your analogy, I can give someone a truck, and they can either treat it well and maintain it, or they can use it to go mud-dogging every weekend. It doesn't change the fact that it was, and remains, a gift.
You completely dodged the import of what I said. Having fun with a gift is an entirely different matter than not maintaining one. And if a truck is not maintained, it will be destroyed, just like a person will be if they don't keep themselves pure in the faith.

And everyone who has this hope in [Christ] purifies himself, just as that one is pure. 1 John 3:3

Hey everyone we are brothers and sisters. Lets all love each other and if we have to agree to disagree... We are all equal. It grieves the holy spirit when we dont get on. Obviously we are all going to have different opinions. If we say error in what someon says lets pray for them. Id also like to say that if I person is filled with the holy spirit and then sins.. Does the holy spirit leave?!........... love you all xxxx
Hey sis, It is ok to agree to disagree on when Christ will return, Is drinking any alohol a sin, How old is the earth. etc etc.

When it comes to the gospel. We have to draw the line, a Gospel that will lead people to hell should never be enabled.

You cannot put James at conflict with Paul. Salvation is the work of grace. The faith we receive through grace is of God. We are new creatures in Christ created unto good works.

Salvation is never about us but always about Christ. Everything apart from Christ is dead. Live is only in Christ.

For the cause of Christ
Roger
Amen brother. Lets all closely look at what james says and then at what paul says in Ephesians 2..
Justification is only possible through faith alone. "Good works" are a by product of faith in christ.. Because of him in us. Lets not forget where we all were before we knew him. Maaaan if it was based on my effort id be well on the highway to hell. THANKYOU JESUS XXXXXXXXX

The Bible accuses you. If you claim you don't sin, the truth isn't in you and you make God out to be a liar.
No it says if we say we HAVE no sin, we are liars. That would be sin nature. If we say that we have no sin nature, we are liars. Sin is not something that we can possess; it is something we do by obeying the wrong nature.

Um, what you don't seem to understand is salvation is not some material thing that can be destroyed. And once again, how one treats a gift does not negate the fact it's a gift.

Do you give gifts in such a fashion?

At Christmas, do you tell everyone you give a gift to that if they don't treat it perfectly, it will no longer be a gift?

so God makes things which can be destroyed?

Oh man, Then what hope do we have?, what possible reason is there to have faith, when there is no hope/

Whatever you think, say or do that goes against God's command not to sin. :) Whether it's swearing, or thinking lustful thoughts, or doing wrong to someone else. Anyone who says they DON'T sin is simply a bald-faced liar in need of repentance.

I guess the blood of Christ is not as powerful as God himself claims. It can fade away to nothing and be destroyed (SMH)

Wow. That was one of the most ignorant things you've ever written.

If you have a sin nature, YOU WILL SIN!

Do you still sin?

Yes, you do.

I am not sure it is ignorance,

But maybe I should give him the benefit of the doubt?
