HRFTD, what did the blood of Jesus accomplish, if there was still more work to be done to attain salvation? Were the people in Exodus 12:13 safe by the applied blood or was there something more needed for salvation?
Christ's work on earth is finished. Your work isn't.

I thought I answered that question that your soul gets holy and set free from bondages.
Who is born from God can go live in sin and then he's not saved anymore.
So your saying the apostle John is a liar :(

I was saved and I first didn't live in sin until my ex dumped me. Then I didn't care anymore, so I simply fell back and lived in darkness and converted again like the lost son.
Ah, So your dad (God) stopped being your dad? Says who?

I was a prodigal son myself for 5 years. I did not live like the word. My Conscience and the HS would not allow e, Yes I commited some bad sins, But I was nothing like my presaved self. And it was the chastening of God that brought me back.

Like the father, when I did return, he did not make me do some ritual or beg forgiveness, He made a meal on my behalf.

Salvation is salvation, If it can be lost, IT IS NOT SALVATION.

Sanctification is being set apart in our daily lives.

A baby is less set apart (sanctified) than a mature believer (adult).

But both are still saved.

Then christ work meant nothing, He died for nothing, He fulfilled the law for nothing, He because the sacrificial lamb, who removed the sin of the ones he died for, And he became a perfect high priest, all for nothing,

because we can save ourself.

So you plainly declare Christ's blood was not sufficient for salvation. So you not only teach salvation by works, but you deny the blood of Christ.

All through Scripture Salvation is presented as a gift from God.

If salvation is predicated on our obedience, then one thing is for certain:

A gift it is not.
Non-sequitur. Not treasuring and maintaining a free gift is essentially spitting in the gift-givers face. Imagine how you'd feel if you gave a free truck to your son, and he never changes the oil in it.

Ephesians 2:8 You are saved by grace through faith.. Not of your own doing, but a gift from God.. I believe when we truly accept Jesus as our Lord and savior we are saved. The holy spirit leads us into all truth, we are to be sensitive and open to his leading. I dont believe for one minute we are "saved" through obedience. We are all doomed otherwise.
Being sensitive to and following the spirit is obedience.

Says the man who says the person who gives the gift is an insincere, and he will take it back if you do not take care of the gift. Meaning, he gave it to you as a downpayment, to get you to be good.. not a gift. which empowers you to be good.

Was the prodigal son really lost? Did what he do change is inheritance? Did it change how his father loved him. Did his father say serves yourself right or did he run and welcome him overflowing with love? Lets all pray for a deep intimate relationship with the father. Thats who he is. Not a distant finger pointing father but one of love and mercy and compassion. He desires to ve relational with us before anything else.. Everytime we sin we are cut off from heaven is what this post portrays... We are dead to sin but alive to God in christ..

Then be my guest. Don't obey GOD and see what happens to you. Have a nice day.

And All Gods children do it.

Fakes can seem to do it, But they will eventually be shown as fake, when they fall away.

He was dead the father said and he lived again. Yes I don't think the apostle John ever doubted his salvation or backslid. Let's just stay close to Him.

Amen, we never stopped being the son,

We just were dead to the rewards of being a son. And had to scrap by on our own power. Which lead us to the pits of despair. Because we can not take care of ourselves..

And this leades us back to our parent (in this case God)

No this is just what the Bible says. Faith without works is dead.

Imagine if God was not like us humans in our thinking and ways? Can we really trust what He says?..or should we rely on ourselves to "help" God out in His poor attempt of Jesus's sacrifice only by grace through faith to obtain eternal salvation? Is Jesus' blood enough?

Isaiah 55:8-9 (NASB)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," declares the LORD.
[SUP]9 [/SUP] "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts.

Numbers 23:19 (NASB)
[SUP]19 [/SUP] "God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

I for one choose to believe in what God, our loving, good Father did for us in offering His Son....our Lord Jesus to obtain for us an eternal salvation based completely on Jesus' finished work on our behalf.

Jesus' blood and sacrifice is enough! We will let His life in us bear His fruit and thus live godly lives in this present world
.

We are called "believers" for a reason...selah

which means 1 work, proves your faith is real and not dead.

You do realise James is talking to people who CLAIMED TO HAVE FAITH, but did no work right?

Not people who have true faiht in Christ, which would do the work of EPH 2: 10

Hey everyone we are brothers and sisters. Lets all love each other and if we have to agree to disagree... We are all equal. It grieves the holy spirit when we dont get on. Obviously we are all going to have different opinions. If we say error in what someon says lets pray for them. Id also like to say that if I person is filled with the holy spirit and then sins.. Does the holy spirit leave?!........... love you all xxxx

What you said has absolutely no bearing on the fact salvation is a gift.

Yes, we can mistreat God's gift - and we do when we sin - but that doesn't negate what it is.

Using your analogy, I can give someone a truck, and they can either treat it well and maintain it, or they can use it to go mud-dogging every weekend. It doesn't change the fact that it was, and remains, a gift.

You cannot put James at conflict with Paul. Salvation is the work of grace. The faith we receive through grace is of God. We are new creatures in Christ created unto good works.

Salvation is never about us but always about Christ. Everything apart from Christ is dead. Live is only in Christ.

For the cause of Christ
