This is an interesting passage in Hebrews. What can we learn from this passage?

1.Angles can appear human looking.

2.They are involved in our lives.

3.Was more of a possibility then one thought. (unaware)

4.They want to interact with us.

Now historically how and why did they appear?

Can some be good while others bad?

Where do they dwell?

Are they messengers? And what other purposes had God used them for?



 
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation? (Heb 1:14)

They appear whenever God has a message for someone to hear. They can also appear to comfort us, but they usually remain unseen in doing so. :)
Can some be good while others bad?

Nope, angels are all good. The bad ones were booted out of heaven and are now demons.

Where do they dwell?

In heaven, of course. :)

Yes, they are messengers. Like I said above, God sends them to us in time of trouble, or need, and to comfort us, or to deliver a message. They can appear in human and animal form, as well as any form God wants them to take on. :)

Nice all good answers. As I was thinking about this I was reminded of Paul.

His heart was to defend God and in doing so based upon his religious teachings was killing and putting fellow Christians in prison. Then we all know what happened he became blinded and then lead to someone who would help him see.

All having to do with angels and the Lord himself.

I believe the Lord saw the intent of his heart and opened his eyes (understanding) to the things of the spiritual world.

Messengers to bring forth understanding (enlightenment)

How do we see as Paul, David,Mary and the many others that not only angles appeared but also the Spirit of the Lord?

Paul, David and Mary all had a message that they needed to hear. Sometimes God appears to us himself as the Holy Spirit, and sometimes he sends angels, and sometimes he brings an angel with him to make a dual appearance to us. :)

Yes He is God he can appear as he wishes. What I was getting to is why more people don't see them?

Now you had mentioned in times of need and comfort. Years ago while I was working in a hospital I had come across this passage and that morning I ask God if he'd show me an angle for surly they were at work in this hospital.

Well He did!

Was on a morning break walking down the hall with a co-worker.

Then out of no where this woman comes toward us praise Jesus and just having this wonderful conversation with Him about how amazing he was to have brought this man who had come in deathly sick with cancer and now he is healed.

I asked my co-worker if he saw her..he did later he was able to believe in God through that experience.

God is Good!
 
I read Angels On Earth magazine, and there are countless people who share their stories of encounters with angels. I think most angelic visits to us, are in human or animal form. Angels are sacred beings, and we are not meant to see them in their glorious splendor very often. I know angels are real, I have felt their influence many times, and many times they have saved me from being injured. I've never seen an angel in it's glory form, but I sure have encountered them in human form. :)
 
Angles on earth magazine that's cool never heard of it.

There are some things I will post later about the why. I think you have hit on the number one... is you have to believe God can use them in and about your life and That he does.
 
I would like to point out that satan and his angels are still angels, they are the same species as the angels in heaven with God. Were not told that they were changed into different beings. I use the term holy angels when talking about the angels in heaven.

And just as His angels can come and do his work, we have fallen angels doing their own work against us. But yeah, I totally believe His angels come here from time to time and do His work. I even believe it happened to me once : p

​Satan and his demons are NOT still angels. They ceased being angels when God kicked them out of heaven. When they hit Earth, they were transformed into demons, doomed to hell for all eternity. Do demons work against us? Absolutely. :) But it's incorrect and fallacious to still classify them as "holy angels". Ain't nothin' holy about demons..lol

I understood him to be referring to the good angles as holy

There is also a reference in scripture that they can appear as angles of light

​Demons can't. Satan can, BUT it's an illusion. It's not real, cuz he's not an angel anymore. So those who don't know of his wily tricks, will be deceived when they see him pretending to be an angel.
 
Jesus said he sent his angel it says, Paul reccognized an angel was sent to him.

Unawares might be seeing such a one (even after the flesh) but not perceiving them (or who they are).

Yes indeed deception does ruin many people God says my people perish for lack of understanding.

Certainly in this day discerning of the spirits needs to be implemented.

Well let me just ask this.. as I am very ignorant on this subject -

Have all those who are going to fall , fallen?

Or do we simply not know?

​As far as I know, they have. There's no more rebellion in heaven today.. But like you said, we don't really know one way or the other. :)
