If you attack a persons lifestyle the one you attack is more likely to give a negative response. Has anyone on site know or have heard of one Homosexual who has become 'Straight' after having his or her sexual orientation/lifestyle condemned with
quotes from Scripture?

The Bible is truth and never returns void. And to answer your question, yes I do know of an instance where that happened.I shared before that my father is an evangelist. He was preaching one evening and he began speaking on homosexuality and what the Bible said about it. He didn't know till the end of the service that a young man was there that was homosexual and was about to undergo surgery. The young man came to the alter that night and became a Christian. He said later that he didn't know homosexuality was wrong and he was not going to have the surgery. Now,my father only said what the Bible says in love. He didn't beat anyone over the head but shared the truth of Gods Word. If you believe that the truth of Gods Word is not able to deliver a person from the bondage of sin I dont know why you are a Christian.

You know, you guys, I had a rather lengthy message typed up--expressing my frustrations with your responses in this thread, but I think this quote by 'Unknown' (possibly Roosevelt) is sufficient:

"No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care."

- When folks read this thread, will they see the 1 Cor 13?

Its funny that you would judge us as uncaring because we stand on the truth of the Bible and defend it but defend Magenta arguing nonsense and being rude to other posters. She cares about homosexuals and we dont because we stand by the Word of God? Slightly judgmental dont' you think?

It's my opinion that gay people have been given a cross they will be carrying throughout their lives. I don't believe they can change. It's the will of the Lord. The Lord has created them as such for some reason. We don't know that reason. The only thing we can do is praying for them. Forcing repentance on them is of no use. Bashing them is pure hatred and is a sin too. It's all to the Lord...there's nothing we can do...and we should stop adding to their burden. I know a lot of people believes that they have chosen their lifestyle, I don't believe that, it's hard too believe that anybody, voluntarily would choose to be that way.

If what you said is true then God is a liar. And worse yet ,a cruel liar because He created people to be gay then condemned and put them to death for it. Thats some wonderful God we serve.... I think you better rethink that.

Please read what jennymae said. That was in response to what she said. And I dont appreciate the WTH abbreviation either. There is nothing wrong with me and what I said makes sense to jennymaes response. We dont usually disagree but we do on this topic. What would your answer be to her response?

I agree with a part of this post, you wont help those who live this life by telling them they are sinners who are going to hell : p We clearly need to come at them with love, and the truth of the Gospel.

But, at the same time we cant lie to them and tell them its okay to live that way. We have to stand on the truth. I took this thread to be a debate among Christians on whether or not its okay to accept homosexuality, and not a thread on how to deal with it in our lives. I dont think anyone here would literally condemn such people themselves : p

But I had a friend who helped me come to God. And he did it both with truth, and with love. He did stand on Gods word on the issue, and I think that was a good thing. If he had caved to my will, I would have used it to justify myself further. But he was still a kind and loving friend who treated himself as an equal with me, a fallen man who has given into sin, too. And he would talk to me about how Christ died for all of us, and not just those of us who did well, cuz none of us did : p

Just wanted to say that I think its important to stand on the word of God, but to do it with compassion, as a fellow human being whos concerned for the person, and not as someone whos higher, casting judgment down on a "lower" person : p

Yes exactly. Once an atheist who said all christians were gay hating bigots asked me about it. I said if it's not possible for them to change it would be unfair from Him to ask.
If He asks the impossible, like asking us to live holy, He also has the solution.

Are you serious? We ALL are given a cross to bear. God abhors homosexuality, why would he "create them as such"? That is just ridiculous, Jenny. God does NOT make people gay, it's a decision THEY make on their own. Yes, they VOLUNTARILY decide to become gay or homosexual. God has nothing to do with turning them gay.

On the flip side, wtheck is wrong with people who defend homosexuality? I agree with Kayla, if God DOES make gay people, then he IS a cruel God indeed. However, we all know He does NOT make gay people, so your comment to Kayla is a little out of line. :/

Quote "Sorry I am going to jump in here, your badgering of Magenta is childish to say the least. Her stated opinion was that Jesus never mentioned homosexuality within the written accounts of His life. And it is not recorded that he did so. To use this as a reason to bash her over the head and say that she is saying 'Jesus condones it through her omission of saying otherwise, is so silly.
Yes Jesus, the Living word of God, the creator, He who holds all things and keeps them in place for His will, does not condone it, He abhors it, He will not stand for it to be in the light of His being. Magenta has already said similar, READ THE POSTS!!!"

I'm sorry but that is unfair and untrue. I haven't a thing against Magenta. But she kept coming back with the same silly argument. She kept telling Blue to give a Scripture where Jesus said homosexuality was wrong. Then when myself and Budman and Blue said that God said it was wrong in the OT so,in essence Jesus said it because God/Jesus are in total agreement Magenta refused to accept that and kept up the silly argument. As I said to her "you are being obtuse". All she had to say to stop the back and forth was that yes homosexuality is wrong because God said it was wrong. God/Jesus are in 100% agreement. But she refused to accept that so she kept up the banter. So no one was trying to "get one over" on Magenta. She was rude to other posters and continued to banter back that Jesus never spoke the words "homosexuality is wrong" So what was her point? Other posters were right in saying God said it therefore its as wrong in the NT as the OT.Then she called posters who didn't agree with her bigots. So really Magenta doesn't need you backing her up. She kept up the banter, insulted posters and kept up a silly argument. Budmans point was right and for some reason Magenta didn't want to agree that God/Jesus are in 100% agreement. Still haven't figured out why she kept up the silly argument. But she wasn't in the right.
I am sorry If you feel condemned,
Magenta wrote this;

Jesus never mentioned homosexuality. He spoke of eunuchs though, and basically praised
them for their celibate lifestyle if it was chosen. He acknowledged that it was not easy.

As I said before, no where in the written account of the gospels does it mention homosexuality as if it came from Jesus mouth. I haver no problem with Jesus being abhorrent to its practise, and neither dose Magenta. But to make a point for the sake of putting oneself higher than another is not a Spirit leading.
I have copied and pasted Magenta's original post, it does not contain anything inflammatory against the Godhead, it does not contain any words that would make anyone think that Jesus supported it or that Magenta thought He did.

I know as you do that the Spirit of Jesus leads us in all truth, but some would like to give the Spirit a helping hand, He does not need it. (look what happened to King Saul)

To equate words written in honesty for a thread as some kind of underhanded hidden message, or to keep on so much at one person that they might feel condemned is not of Christ.

I pray the Spirit of peace will enter in this caffufle and bring to mind Jesus peace, and bring to our heart Jesus mind for the Glory of God, Amen

Trump made it very clear to his children from the get go; do drugs and you get no money. Imagine if our government said the same thing to people receiving "entitlements."

Sorry, wrong thread. :p

I'm not getting into this "he said, she said" BS.

If what you said is true then God is a liar.
<-- Oh really? Where's the KINDNESS as you pick apart someone's PERSONAL OPINION while YOU CHALLENGE THEM? Which part of what she said 'makes God a liar'?

And worse yet ,a cruel liar because He created people to be gay then condemned and put them to death for it.
<-- We still don't see the lie here -- we see a contradiction, but not a lie. Is this what you meant by 'God is a liar' -- that God would contradict?

Thats some wonderful God we serve....
<-- Sarcasm; not helpful.

I think you better rethink that.
<-- What is "that"?

Jennymae stated that gays are gay because God "created them as such". That's bull crap and everyone knows it isn't true. Kayla wasn't picking apart Jenny's opinion, she simply told her that she needs to rethink her position on what she said about God creating people gay. And we ALL use sarcasm here every day, so don't single Kayla out for it. What Kayla said about God being a liar is true, IF indeed he does make gay people. Why would he do the opposite of what he hates? GOD DOES NOT CREATE GAY PEOPLE AND THAT'S A FACT!!

It isn't our fault if some people can't accept that Jesus DID speak on the subject of homosexuality. It's true, whether they believe it or not. Every word in the bible was spoken by God or Jesus, and it ain't our problem if some people here don't believe that. :/
StrawMan.jpg

I think the real issue here is that some folks are using the ARCHAIC definition of "speak" in their understanding.

Have you ever heard of a RED LETTER Bible? What are the red letters highlighting?
"Red letter edition Bibles are those in which words spoken by Jesus, commonly only while he was on the Earth, are printed in red ink." -Wiki
