Entertaining Angels Unaware

Looking at the title of this thread made me think of "Angels entertaining me unawares" because I have so many evidences of this happening without actually seeing one.

Beautiful wide open delicate feathers placed in front of me at random times is one example. One on my pillow, one beside my chair, one in a plant on my desk to name a few places. During the last 5 years, I have received many which I now keep in a box. I look at each and every one as a sign of the Lord's presence with me.

I'm sure they serve me and many of those belonging to Jesus in many other ways. Twice I have felt a comforting hand on my shoulder.

I have an awareness of angels around me all the time.
 
I read once about a Christian man who did not have a job during the depression, and his wife had passed and he only had his daughter. He literally had one piece of bread left for them for supper and they were totally out of food and money. A man who appeared to be very poor knocked on his door and asked if he had anything to eat. He showed him the plate with one piece of bread and said this is all we have but you are welcome to share it with us. When he turned back around to hand the bread to the man he had totally disappeared. A few minutes later the man from the local grocery sent somebody to deliver several bags of groceries. He said a man dressed in a very expensive suit came in to the store and paid for the groceries and asked that they be delivered to him.

Haven't had any round lately to my place for afternoon tea and scones unfortunately... :(

I extend a warm invitation to all (Holy) angels to my humble abode for afternoon tea! :cool:

Thank you for sharing that. God is so Good He will never leave us and always reminds us of that. He knows just what we need.... to know it is Him.

Thank you this does fill in a few things the Lord showed me in different visits.

I have a friend who keeps files on his prayers and often asks the Lord to confirm to him the things he prays for.

He is very specific in his prayer... as of about ten years ago he had over four thousand confirmed prayers.

That experience taught me so much. God is mysterious He builds precept upon precept and as you study... his truth unfolds to you.

Here are a few things I learned from a few people who did experience visitations often.

1. They are Holy just as the Spirit is so you have to prepare a place where they are welcome with no distractions.

2. Time... set aside time to study about them and God ...the more the better. Some of these people started with an hour then was able to increase it to several hrs.(pursue God to know Him better)

3. Stay committed (ask God to help You see and hear) (faithfulness)

4. What help me a bunch was when I get ready for bed I'd listen to audio bible online while I slept it played some nights from Gen.-Rev. (and I'd ask the Lord to take me where He goes and to see what He sees) you would be surprised where you might go!
 
we probably ought to be careful not to "seek a sign" like a certain 'evil and adulterous generation' did --

if one day i can see Christ's face, i'm content to live 1,000 lifetimes on earth without ever crossing paths with an angel, awares or unawares. more than content, blessed!

there's a growing body of people idolizing and even openly worshiping angels nowadays -- let's never give that appearance :)


 
this passage in Hebrews is encouraging us to show kindness and hospitality to strangers --

i hope i don't need the thought that 'they might be angels who knows' to spur me to love my neighbor this way -- that it would just flow from the abundance of my heart, from charity, and in no way contingent on the possibility of some kind of supernatural encounter.

then, it would be supernatural all the time - because the Almighty would have made His home within me.
then, the supernatural is natural -- i would truly be a new creation, with a citizenship not in this world, but in heaven.

one day, we will walk with Him and talk with Him always - and He will be our light, so that we don't need a sun or a moon or stars -- in that time, will we marvel when we see an angel walk by? or will it become ordinary - so that we don't give it a second thought?
with that mindset, we might very easily entertain angels "unawares" -- not because we are ignorant, but because we dwell in the presence of One far greater than any angel, so that whether we are with angels, or humans, or the talking donkey of a prophet, we barely notice, because our minds are fully set on the Lord.

so i think -- perhaps you are much more likely to interact with angels when you don't care to look for them at all -- when you are fully consumed with seeking after the face of God. and doing this, you probably won't have a story to tell us about it -- you won't want to talk about angels at all. you want to talk about Jesus.
 
Well said thank you. If I have suggested we should worship angles in your view excuse me.. that clearly is not what I am suggestion.

As for what I am sharing about my experiences offends you again please forgive me.

Now on the note of being with the Lord, His Spirit and in the presents of angles at times I will never grow tired of that.

Well if you don't receive anything from Him you sure won't have anything of value to share. But I guess that's why God made donkeys.

Remember where he was walking with two of the disciples and they didn't know who He was until He reveled Himself to them.

But I believe that was His new body form. I knew a man who said He had appeared to him in different Nationality and race body forms keep asking him if he Knew Him.
 
The guy was an evangelist had traveled the world. The message to him was I Am the God of all Nations and Races.

in the new testament, it's only by context that it's translated either "angel" or "messenger"

here, it could equally imply that a stranger may have a message from God for us, so that if you aren't kind to them for the sake of love, be kind to them for your own sake, because you may otherwise miss out on being blessed & edified.

after all -- what does a person with a message or blessing from God for us look like? where does such a person dwell? is such a person good or bad?

ha! he or she doesn't even have to be a believer at all, to be used of God for our good!

Now this is good and very true have been blessed by many non Christians.

Now if in the future you find something you don't like or have a misunderstanding about about what is being said here ..could you please take it private first and if I am wrong I will publicly apologize or explain it better.

This way at least in here it won't be like every other topic that gets trashed and no one feels comfortable about sharing anything.

The God I believe in has compassion and operates in an orderly fashion and expects His to work that way to I am sure.

If you can't please follow along or just stir confusion some where else please.

The preincarnate Christ appeared as The Angel Of The Lord a number of times in the Old Testament.

Posthuman isn't trying to stir confusion here. In your OP, one of your questions about angels was, "are they messengers"? .. And Posthuman answered with the statement that they ARE messengers. :) The word "angel" means "messenger". :)
