Just another thought, Blonds do have them every now and then...lol

I look at the different denominations as parts of the body of Christ because since we are different we can reach so many more people and isn't the goal to introduce people to Jesus and for them to get to know Him and accept the salvation He offers them?

The hand isn't any better than the foot and the eyes aren't any better than the nose or the mouth.... So to me we are brothers and sisters in Christ making up the whole body with different jobs to do in getting the gospel out to the whole world.... which is so much better than fighting with each other over our doctrinal differences.

very interesting and I think a real thought to consider about denominations never have looked at it that way thank you for that insightful remark The only problem I have with denominations personally is their bitterness towards other labels in Him I have known protestants who had absolutely no love for Baptist, Lutherans who had no love for another denomination ect....all based on their label. I think in truth there is only One Jesus Christ and all who hold up Faith in Him are one with Him, and one day all labels and contention about little things will fade.

God bless you and good word

I think if we are truly all Christians (In Christ) with the same Spirit in us - then likely our doctrines will not differ much. If they do differ a little it is probably just highlighting our differences of maturity in Him - We are all growing at different paces, and we each started at a different time.

But all that aside I think a group of real Christians should all be bearing good fruits in discussion. When the conversation plummets to sewer level with insults like "you idiot" etc. I really start to wonder if I am exchanging with true Christians.

amen and sometimes its best to let it go, and maybe someone else will be able to communicate better with the person. idk who but the other day someone said something like "sometimes people just don't Jive" I agree. that's when the choice in my own opinion should be to pray earnestly let God handle it and work towarda relationship with someone who is receptive.

Jason,

Show us how it is done and how well it works for you.

For years Jehovah's Witnesses and other cultists made converts out of the Baptist Church and other churches and no one did anything about it.

Chuck

well, Chuck, you know if someone is simply a fruit inspector, they might apply insecticide to a bee pollinating or maybe their checklist will appear to cross someone off their personal list

thankfully, we have the Holy Spirit who witnesses with our spirit with regards to another believer...at least I have certainly found that to be a factor...

if folks reject the gifts and wave the Bible they may very well get fooled, but you cannot imitate the Holy Spirit...the devil has been trying since the garden...pretending to be good while mixing just enough truth with error so as to make what he was saying palatable

but discernment also comes into play as well...both that we have honed as we progress through our life in Christ and there is also the gift of discernment otherwise known as discerning of spirits

I honestly do not see a connection between what you propose and the op

you are free to object of course, but I'm not sure why you would

If you are honest about the questions, the answers are "Yes". How about the Mormons or the Jehovah Witnesses? They aren't saved.

My view on salvation is that anyone who puts their faith sincerely in Jesus Christ, keeps it their is "saved". just to make that clear up front. anyone, meaning anyone regardless their label. and yeah people who don't even believe there is a God can show kindness ect. I think you are missing the point. If someone is preaching Jesus and doesn't bear these fruits, that's a sign that they are not following Him in obedience. I'm not talking false teachers or whatever. if someone is claiming to speak For Jesus Christ, and they bear not the fruit of the spirit, its a red flag buddy. thgats the point and application of the scriptures. no matter the logic, we have clear instructions for those in the church.. cant reason it any differently myself. because what you call a false teacher can exhibit some of the qualities up front, doesn't nullify that His true followers aren't identified by the fruit of the spirit.

does that make any sense ? and if you look in the beginning it says at" least in part" these fruits are identifiers. But bottom line to me is, what a false teacher is doing, doesn't give me authorization to operate in a nature that is forbidden to the true believers.

I don't really get the last part of ur comment, I am what I am, I am not false in any way and no one has any legitimate grounds to say that. if I preach what I do not live I only condemn myself, that is a truth I hold to in all my efforts.

God bless you

I disagree Jason,

Love ceases to be love when it doesn't protect.

Matthew 11:12 From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence, and violent people have been raiding it.

You might want to click on the link to see how the other Bibles render it.

But basically, if you are going to survive, you can't be the way you are towards false theology because the violent people will take Christianity by force.

Jude 1:3 ¶ Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

The word "contend" means to fight nonviolently and I'm not suggesting that we become violent here.

Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

The word "kept" means "to guard":

Blue Letter Bible - Lexicon

What were they guarding it from? It isn't like anyone invaded before? But we hear that Satan took one third of the angels with him.

Genesis 2:15 ¶ And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

Did they do a good job at keeping the garden safe?

The word "keep" it means to "guard":

Blue Letter Bible - Lexicon

Do you think they did a good job? Guard it from what? It isn't like anyone invaded the garden before. What were they supposed to guard it from?

The violent took the kingdom of God by force.

Do you know what the meaning of the word "nice" means?

The word “Nice” comes from the Middle English (word) meaning “foolish” and that word came from the Anglo-French word meaning "silly, simple" and that word came from the Latin word "Nescius" which means "ignorant". The Latin root is a compound word.

Ne means "not".
"Scire" means "knowledge".
It is where we get the word science from. Basically the word “Nescire” or “Nescius” means to know nothing.

Now, the point is not to demonize people and say that nice people don't know anything or that they choose to destroy the Church but using this kind of language got my message not approved on a blog today. Am I doing pretty good to be banned all the time? If you are living godly then it is par for the course and I must be doing good because I think I’m under par.

The word "Logos" for God which is the same word used for Jesus in John 1:1 means "logic" and "reason" and people who choose to be nice are not using logic and reason. They’re being what they think God is but they aren’t. The way to correct this is to show people we are to treat others better than ourselves, we're to treat people with gentleness and respect, and we're to love others but we're not to shy away from the truth.

2 Timothy 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

Being "nice" is systematically destroying Western Civilization and the church.

We can be nice about saying what we think but other people don't think we're nice when we call social ills for what they are. So it is but it isn't.

So "nice" refers to an undiscerning Christian.

well chuck, its okay with me if you disagree honestly. the scrioptures are what they are. and in the spirit of unity and peace, I am fully assured the right thing for me to do is to say God bless you, I hope you and I can find some other ground to stand in the peace knowing that Jesus Christ died to Give salvation to all who will believe in sincerity.

That is all I have to say, your opinion is respected but I will stand by the words I have written each one not only in this thread but since I have been on this site. No hard feelings and God bless you

I have no hard feelings.

Consider what a shepherd has to do to a wolf in real life. He has to fend off the wolf in real life and the wolf can eat him and the sheep and sometimes they come with a pack of wolves.

1 Samuel 17:34 And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock:
1 Samuel 17:35 And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him.
1 Samuel 17:36 Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God.

22 And kwhen he had removed him, lhe raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said, m‘I have found in David the son of Jesse na man after my heart, owho will do all my will.’

Acts 13:22

" if your child curses you, surely your hand must cast the first stone, the child must be put to death."........scripture has an order. this scripture is given in the law of moses, not an instruction to the Church of Jesus Christ, it is a mosaic Law that WAS to be obeyed by the people it was given to. because this scripture is in the old testament it was a directive of God, there are also directions to the Church of Jesus Christ. discernment is a gift received through Prayer, it isn't learned through how many books other than Gods word I read or study, it isn't gained through theology classes, it isn't gained by arguing or dividing or proving I'm right and you are wrong. it comes ONLY by submission to The spirit of God that is freely Given through Prayer and acceptance of Jesus Christ. there are clear, straight forward instructions on how to Live, act, treat other people for those who are following Christ. I do not follow moses, joseph prince, any other author. I will not be swayed or pulled away from the spirit of God.

Am I something? no, but I can tell you about the One who is truly something. I spend much time with Him, even that not to my credit, but His Grace. the bottom line here is you aren't arguing or disagreeing with me, you are disregarding the actual instructions for The church of Christ, to justify your own learning and knowledge. scripture doesn't cause divisions, disagreements, lack of understanding the scriptures does. If you or anyone else wants to understand scripture, ask and you will receive james 1:5." if any of you lacks wisdom he should ask of God who gives generously to all without finding fault."

Prayer is a real thing, it is far more effective than anything else we can do in the next verse is the key " but he must believe...." Trust God friend, the gospel is plainly laid out before us. the issue with false teachings honestly, and ive had to be pushed far to say this is people using their own intellect to try to figure it out and make it a mystery. its plain so that all people can understand. that's why the instructions are very clear and plain. its simple man. ask and receive, and then james 1:22 "do mot merely listen to the Word DO what it says."

very simple stuff Jesus means what he says, pauls instructions in his writings are for us to follow, if we walk in the spirit ( wich its attributes are clear) then the sinful nature will not be gratified leading to righteousness and peace for anyone who will simply do what the word says to do, to the measure of the faith they receive. I can only do what I know in other words. sorry but it seems there is no agreement in this matter, a second time I hope we are able to find some common ground otherwise I find it unfruitful to spend time arguing with you, depleted, or any other person who doesn't accept what is plain before trying to go deeper. God bless you, I leave you the opportunity to respond as you wish, but lets move on after that. its a waste of time for both of us, I can tell you for certain I will not ever look away from what is right there and simple.

May the peace of Christ rule your heart, in whatever things you choose

If I am not mistaken, I believe Chuck is a LORDSHIP SALVATION proponent

That would go quite a ways to explain his view on things

of course he is free to say otherwise regarding his views on who is truly saved or not

LORDSHIP SALVATION puts a view on salvation that scripture does not have nor require

If I am wrong regarding his view he can state otherwise of course

Anybody can fake good fruit in order to deceive believers, but faking bad fruit would be counter-productive to that. Which is why Jesus tells us that we will recognize false prophets by their fruit. By their bad fruit, not good.

Ultimately what we all have to remember when the roll is called up yonder is that in the end there will only be two groups of people. Those that are saved, the righteous and those who are not saved, the wicked. At that time it won't matter if you are a Baptist, Methodist, Catholic, SDA, Pentecostal, Lutheran, or any other of the many denominational names we have today....

Saved and unsaved will be the two people groups.
