Okay I'm still between the fence on this. I'm leaning more towards post trib rapture but then my in-laws gave me this
Luke 21 verse 36
"Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man."

Any post trib people care to explain this.
Please no put downs in this thread.
thank you

Easy way to figure out your views on rapture.

Rapture comes from rapturo -- "caught up."

Now go grab a concordance and do a word study on "caught up" in the Bible. Read every single verse with the words together, (all four of them), and then read the context.

THAT should teach you everything you need to know about rapture. (The rest comes strictly from cut-and-paste different Bible verses together into something they were never meant to be in the first place.)

How did the children of Israel in Egypt escape the angel of death that God sent upon the Egyptians?

How did Lot and his escape God's judgment upon the cities on the plains of Sodom and Gomorrah?

How did Noah and his escape God's destruction upon the earth by waters of a flood?

Did any... of those situations involve being raptured to Heaven?

Hello DP, Devonmcknight68,

DP, your comparison above is not relevant. The wrath of God (the day of the Lord) that is coming is going to be an unprecedented time in history that will involve all of the inhabitants on the entire earth with some of the plagues involving natural events, such as the sun scorching the inhabitants with intense heat, an asteroid or something similar hitting one of the oceans and killing a third of the earth's sea creatures and destroying a third of the ships, etc. Jesus said that it would be a time of great distress such as the world has not seen from the beginning of creation, until now and never to be equaled again. And the results will be that, if those days of wrath were allowed to go on any longer than the predetermined time, no one would be left alive on earth by the time the Lord returned to end the age. This is why Jesus is coming to gather the living believers prior to the on-set of his wrath, which is to remove the living believer's so that he can pour out his full wrath.

Did any... of those situations involve being raptured to Heaven?

Just because God hasn't done something in the past doesn't mean that it won't happen in the future. The fact still remains that scripture states that Jesus rescued us from the coming wrath and which we are also not appointed to suffer. After Paul gave a detailed account of the dead and the living being gathered in 1 Thes.4:13-18, he then said, "Comfort each other with these words." What is more comforting, to be here on earth during the time of God's wrath or to look forward to the Lord's promise of gathering us and taking us back to the Father's house before his wrath begins?

My comparison from God's Word is very... relevant to His protection of the saints on the final day of this world when He pours out His cup of wrath upon the wicked. Just as with the Daniel 3 example of the hot fiery furnace heated seven times hotter than necessary, Jesus is about to protect us 'through' His consuming fire. His wrath is not upon us, remember?

And like Paul said in 1 Cor.5:7, Jesus now is our Passover sacrificed for us. He now is our ark of protection through that event.

Isa 33:10-16
10 Now will I rise, saith the LORD; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up Myself.
11 Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath, as fire, shall devour you.
12 And the people shall be as the burnings of lime: as thorns cut up shall they be burned in the fire.
13 Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge My might.
14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
15 He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;
16 He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.
