My Christ care group is reading a book with that title by Adam Hamilton.

Our hw assignment was to talk to 3 Christians about their views about people of other faiths....specifically Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam and Judaism.

So anyone want to help me with my homework?

Hard to find people in real life willing to discuss other religion and the Bible. They normally only want to talk about one or the,other.

First they are not faiths. They are religions. Christianity is the only religion that teaches that all that is required for eternal life has been done by Jesus Christ. Christianity is the only religion that teaches salvation by grace and not through works, keeping rituals or special rites.

Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

People of other religions are lost. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Period. What else would you like to know regarding my views of these people?

I think I see them more as Jesus did, than as "Christians" do. His word tells me He loves them equally as much as He does me or you... and that he came to save them from destruction too.

Since it is totally impossible for most of them, down through history, to have ever even heared the English word, "Jesus", then He must have some way I have no idea of for how He touches their hearts.

He said "there is no Jew or Gentile." To maintain the "Them vs Us" attitude that dominates the RELIGION of Christianity, it only stands to reason that we have really gotten SOMETHING seriously wrong.

I've always been a champion of God's grace. I have no doubt those who never heard of Jesus are afforded an opportunity of His saving grace one way or another.

It has been said that each one of us has a God shaped hole in our hearts. There are Muslims that are having dreams of Jesus and becoming saved. A missionary told a story of how they felt called to a town that was secluded from the world. They felt they needed to go and bring the Gospel there.When he arrived the chief of the tribe greeted them and said that they had been waiting for him. The missionary was surprised. They had had dreams that someone was coming to tell them more about Jesus. God used a donkey to speak in the OT,he can reach a person with the Gospel without a doubt.

The above are definitely godly qualities, but the most godly quality is affirming Jesus' divinity.

I think the most "godly" quality might be loving others, thereby affirming Jesus' divinity.

Yessir! Thanks for this reminder, Willie-T. :)

Reminds me of an interesting concept which came about through some discussion recently:

Were the "sheep" not even aware of their own actions? Was the power of God, working in them so great that they did not even realize their own good deeds? Or, did they simply not realize that when they fed the hungry--they were essentially feeding Jesus for, Christ was in these strangers?

I think an important thing to take away from this parable is that we Christians should view strangers as if they are God's children. We should care for people in need as if they were Christ himself.

"38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers,[a] you did it to me.’"
