C
so i have this roommate who is staying with me and my mom until she can get back on her feet
i recently found out that she is atheist and after several times of talking and listening to her she told me ''I am glad that the 'religion' thing id for you but it isn't for me''
and for a while now that quote has been spinning around in my head
have we as Christians the followers of the one and only living God became just another ''religion''?
this thought has really been bothering me and has been coming up in my mind on a daily basis
we as Christians have become so comfortable in our salvation that we have seemingly forgot about the 7 billion people in the world
did you know, the early Christian church was considered by other religions to be anti-religious. It is our modern "Christian" cultural view that has labeled Christianity another religion. Also, by 200 A.D., the Romans actually called Christians atheist because what they taught about God was so radical
were did that passion for Christ go?
i myself am probably the worst of all, i am comfortable going to church and getting on CC but when it truly counts, when i have a chance to talk to a friend about Christ i always seem to pass it up,because whatever reason and i am sure i am not the only one who does this
it is time for me, for us to stand up be the Christ called us to be
to be radical Christians and not just the ''religion'' that we are classified as after all, look at all the things Christ did for us, in Isaiah 52:14
''Just as there were many who were appalled at him
his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any man
and his form marred beyond human likeness''
this verse says it clearly, Christ was beaten so harshly he didnt even look human
and then he was crucified and he did it all for us
and we, me especially are so selfish we take that gift for granted
so it is time for all of us to wake up
and flesh out our faith the way we are suppose to do
God bless,
