So what would be the alternative to Big Pharma, jaybird88? I'm not disagreeing with you on this, believe me. I think Big Pharma is a larger menace to public healthy than anthrax ever was. And as a student of Medical Laboratory Technology, I can tell you there are horror stories you hear through the grapevine about Big Pharma. There are definitely conspiracies going on in the world of medicine designed specifically to cause extortion of the public. I'd even be convinced, based on what I've heard, that they sometimes make people sick with one medication in order to push another. Also, the whole vitamin con is completely bunk too, if you didn't already know.

But the real question is, what do we do about it? With what do we replace a system that is now so ingrained there is hardly any alternative, let alone a viable choice of competition?
How about this? Please tell what u think.

Abt this book:
Still considered the definitive work on medicinal herbs and their uses after two decades, the Handbook of Medicinal Herbs has undergone a long-anticipated revision. In the second edition, world-renowned ethnobotanist James A. Duke provides up-to-date data on over 800 of the world’s most important medicinal plant species. The book contains more species, phytochemicals, proven indications, folk indications, and dosage data than the first edition in a new easier to use format. The in-depth content, the addition of color plates and over 200 black and white illustrations makes this book the most comprehensive resource on medicinal herbs available.NEW IN THE SECOND EDITION:
· Over 100 color plates, 4 color maps
· Over 200 black and white illustrations
· Over 800 medicinal plants — more than twice as many as the previous edition organized alphabetically by common name
· More herbs from the African, Ayurvedic, Chinese, and Jamu traditions
EASY ACCESS TO INFORMATION YOU NEED
It has become increasingly clear that there are hundreds of biologically active compounds, often additive or synergistic, in all our plants, foods, spices, herbs, medicinal, and poisonous plants. The debate continues on how these plants work and how they should be used. Blending scientific fact with folk uses and the author’s personal experience, Handbook of Medicinal Herbs, Second Edition provides the most well rounded discussions of safety, efficacy, toxicity, and rational use found in any herbal reference.

PS. I posted 2 links.

About the first book:
Known for their ease of use, artful presentation of scientific information, and evidence-based approach, James Duke’s comprehensive handbooks are the cornerstone in the library of almost every alternative and complementary medicine practitioner and ethnobotanist. Using the successful format of these bestselling handbooks, Duke’s Handbook of Medicinal Plants of the Bible covers 150 herbs that scholars speculate, based on citations, were used in Biblical times.

You can't replace the system, but you can actively choose not to be a part of it by not using medicines or vaccines. Granted if you are dependent on a medicine for a life threatening illness/condition you should continue using it as you may not have any other choice. But don't take medications for every little ailment. Stick with natural foods/remedies as much as possible and avoid big pharma pills/vaccines like the plague they only poison your system with un-natural toxins and get you further addicted to more pills to make money....

i think the 1st step would be to raise awareness. there are many out there that believe these drug companies are ther answer to all their problems. its wrong to be harsh on the ones that use them as the drug companies spend billions in ads, and they have many neuroscience working for them in their marketing schemes.

eli lilly and prozac

all the way back in the 80s this company was made fully aware that the drug increased the risk of suicide. they kept this information secret, sold their drugs, made billions while so many lost their lives to suicide while on the drug. the story was big in the mid 2000s, ely lilly admitted to the accusations. paid there fine, blah blah. yet they are still here, still in business, making big profits. i dont get it.

if i had a restaurant, and was selling food that killed one of every 20 people that ate there, and i knew the food was killing people but did nothing because the profits were better, if i was caught my restaurant would be closed down and i would go to prison for the rest of my life.
what is wrong with this world?

Psychotropic drugs (mental illness) is a 300 plus Billion a year biz. 300 billlion and not a single cure. not one cure, completely mind boggling. since 1952 Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorderspsychiatrys book of mental disease has grown from 112 illnesses up to a whopping 374. where do they get all these diseases? since 1994 there has been a 4000% increase in the diagnosis of bipolar in children in the United States. there are 300 million prescriptions written every year.
with so much money involved are they really trying to help people or just make as much money as possible.

Stay away from presc. drugs as much as possible. Some people really do need them, and western medicine saves a lot of lives. But we are way over prescribed here.
On a side note, if more people took an active role in their own health care, their own bodies, we would reduce health care costs probably by about 50% to 75% in this country.

Or, virtually 100% -- speaking strictly about "take this for the rest of your life" drugs -- not talking about going to the emergency room because you shattered your leg bone...

( The point being -- the absolute majority of 'pharma' drugs only cover up symptoms -- they do not actually "cure" / "fix" anything. There are more 'natural' means that will actually "cure" / "fix" the problem, whatever it is... )

God created "natural health" -- which, if followed the way He prescribes -- the body will "take care of itself" - "quite nicely"... ;)

( No - this does not necessarily cover those cases where powers-that-be are acting to "take you down" - for example - by preventing you from obtaining the "natural nutrition" that you need to remain healthy. )

:)
