Actually, there aren't questions when you apply for jobs in Norway
there is however a separate online CV system for each company, so you need to fill inn ALL the info for every job ....
bleh
and then there's the matter of what to put in the application itself.... maybe I should start saying "pick me! pick me!"

*hugs skylove*
yay! You're awesome too!

Okay, my email signature (at work) clearly has my name spelled correctly on it. Why do people reply to me, giving me a completely different name. Example, if my name was Bob (its not) then they are replying with "Dave, thanks for getting back to me....." How do you mess that one up?

The same thing happens to me all the time....my name can be right above what they are writing...

I really hate apartment leases, and contracts. I will have to renew mine shortly. I've been reading through it, and in order to have the freedom to leave tomorrow, I need to keep $4159 on hand to cover all of the early termination fees, and other fees. I've had this amount set aside for almost a year now, the time I've been at this place. But it really bothers me. How could we allow a society where people are forced into situations like this? As an American, I've grown up with talk of freedom, and the importance thereof, but how many people are truly free? I've worked extremely hard to not be in debt, and to work at a savings. This makes me question how many people are tied down by contracts debts and other things, and because of that are trapped. It is kinda depressing. :\ I've set aside the money, so that I am really free, but I don't like it one bit.
Freedom is expensive.

Annoying, isn't it? I understand your frustration.

In Norway, most places have at least one months notice , maybe more so if you leave on the day, you have to pay for that extra month. (Rent is normally between 350 and 700 dollars a month , more if you want something roomy. Not fun when half the available jobs are only temporary and you risk working only two months. (in addition to the lease, there is the matter of deposits, normally equal to 1-3 months wort of rent).

Maybe we should just build ourselves a hut in the forest?

I totally feel your pain, ntw. Years ago, I was once locked into a situation in which I moved from one place to another but had to pay rent on both places for 6 months. I was grateful that God was with me during that time and helped me make the payments.

Not to sound like some kind of ultra-zealous poster who sweeps in and gives a lot of overly dramatic religious talk, but I wonder if the reason we have to pay such high prices for freedom (wars, families broken apart, human casualties, etc.) is because God's own payment for our freedom was so high.

After all, everything in this world is modeled after God's own examples.
