So do you not know how to study out a issue for yourself? Clearly its not talking about a womans face, but her head ..,. and the NIV and ESV makes lots of silly errors

And some might have to answer for what they didn't say.

Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because though suffered that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.-Revelation 2:20
Oh yes she preaches that you should fornicate, I forgot.
I thought she taught how God set her free from abuse and how to forgive people.
But hey she's a woman who preaches in denim, so she must be a Jezebel.
And if she's not and you have to give account for every word you said you just say: oops. Better watch out what you say, even if there's things wrong with what she preaches. Don't call your brother a fool. What I heard from her was good.
Rodney Howard Browne when people said women couldn't wear make up because Jezebel painted her eyes black: Jezebel, Jingle bell, every old door needs a lick of paint.

PART II

A k
nown prostitute in Jericho believing she was on God’s side… a beautiful woman stolen from her honorable husband by a king raises her son to love God…. a beautiful Jewess marries and deceives a king about her heritage to protect her God-fearing people… a woman in Samaria with too many husbands, who endures racial prejudice believes the Messiah has come… a woman with a bad reputation wastes expensive perfume and makes a spectacle of herself because she recognizes Jesus as Savior… a woman of Canaan won’t take no for an answer because she believes Jesus is faithful to His Word… an old woman ostracized, sick and unclean believes Jesus can heal her… a woman caught in the act of adultery learns not one man can judge her… Christian women who are dismissed as foolish and unreliable by Christian men are first to see the Risen Savior… a young girl considered goofy and naïve in her faith is overcome with joy when she witnesses her prayer miraculously answered… a demon possessed fortune-telling prostitute is redeemed by the Lord while she follows the apostle Paul around…

Every one of these women was chosen to exalt Mighty God in spite of the negative attitudes of those who lacked faith in the Lord for these women. Each of these ladies were honored by the Lord forever in His Holy Word. None of these women had the approval of men, religious or otherwise. None of these women had anything to boast about of themselves. They were chosen by God to glorify Himself to us and to the whole world.

There is nothing of the flesh in these accounts that exalt the Most High God. But God is glorified THROUGH them because He uses the foolish things to confound the “wise”, to confuse the intellectual, to baffle the religious scholar, to complicate self-appointed church leaders, to perplex the legalists, to humble the prideful, to mystify Pharisees.

It is absolutely foolish for any man to dictate who God can and cannot use for whatever He purposes to do. There is nothing in our natural mind that can hope to comprehend what is God’s will. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.

Does God call women to pastor? Will God lead a woman to teach men? Did God create an order for marriage? There is only one way to find out for sure: ask God the Father. He is faithful and He will answer. He is the ONLY ONE to answer you about what He is doing.

I would never put faith in anyone’s opinion (including my own) when it does not exalt Christ Jesus. If any of our testimonies is of how we do this and that, how by our own desire and self will we are accomplishing some great thing, it is a LIE. Anyone who exalts themselves (that includes me) and their efforts is competing against Christ. For there is no good in the flesh. Nobody has the desire to do God’s will of themselves. NOBODY. Nobody on this board can boast accept in Jesus. So cancel out all the posts that attempt to cancel out Jesus.

Brothers and sisters, just because someone bombards you with scripture after scripture of how their belief is right, DON’T GO WITH THEM. If you don’t easily see the nature of Jesus Christ in someone, if you don’t read mercy and truth and humility in a post, it is not Jesus Christ. Even the devil appears as an angel of light and knows scripture better than most. But the devil does not know the truth of the scriptures and God does. And He will reveal the truth to you Himself by His Holy Spirit.

There are too many opinions and false teachings here to put faith in anything but Jesus Himself. The Lord is faithful to exalt Himself in your heart and show you the truth. Amen?

Please don't take my comments to indicate that I agree with Joyce Meyers... I think she's a good motivational speaker, but from what little I've heard of her, I don't think she's terribly accurate, scripturally. She should do AA meetings, and that type of thing, but should leave preaching to the body of Christ alone. Just my opinion... YMMV.

I just thought the comments about how she was dressed were strangely critical. I saw nothing wrong with what she was wearing.

I put my foot down so my wife called the Bible study leader and they had to cancel the Bible study because they cared about church unity and everyone else was wondering why they bought the books but it was heresy and we need Christians who know the truth who are knowledgeable and who are willing to put their foot down. It wasn't like I didn't have degreed authors behind me. This should show everyone what the power of one person standing for truth can do but it also gets tiring where I have to work at this all the time because there are plenty of message boards where the religion or Christian forum is heresy central and on top of that, people don't read their Bibles. And no one stands with me because sometimes you have to study scripture as people are inventing heresy and I can't use people to back me up that haven't studied or who can't study so they have nothing to bring to the table.
When you put your foot down, who washed it?

(Sorry. I had to ask considering what you were answering, and yet, you put your foot down. I did appreciate the rest, and agree.)

What does the Bible say or teach about women preaching the Word of God?

Example:
How about " Paster Joyce Meyer "
I think the part about loving our neighbors as ourselves applies here:

[34] But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sad'ducees, they came together.
[35] And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, to test him.
[36] "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?"
[37] And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
[38] This is the great and first commandment.
[39] And a second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
[40] On these two commandments depend all the law and the prophets." Matt 22:34-40 RSV
Perhaps I might be allowed to clarify my previous post. Here would be my response to the original question:

You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Matt 19:19b RSV

But... the KJV, you know, the ONLY true version  says
[SUP]5 [/SUP]But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
Strangely similar to the NLT from my first quote..... hmmmmmm

The King James and a lot of Bibles use the word "vail".
You were considered a prostitute if your face was uncovered in that culture but the Roman culture might have been different but I think that religious cultures covered their faces.

What?!

From Matthew Henry's Commentary:

That this privilege of being the children of God, and of being by baptism devoted to Christ, is now enjoyed in common by all real Christians. The law indeed made a difference between Jew and Greek, giving the Jews on many accounts the pre-eminence: that also made a difference between
bond and free, master and servant, and between male and female, the males being circumcised. But it is not so now; they all stand on the same level, and are all one in Christ Jesus; as the one is not accepted on the account of any national or personal advantages he may enjoy above the other, so neither is the other rejected for the want of them; but all who sincerely believe on Christ, of what nation, or sex, or condition, soever they be, are accepted of him, and become the children of God through faith in him.
Honest. The answer is connected, if you keep reading. The writings didn't use to have chapters and verses. They were added later. This is a continuation of what you referred to.
Gal. 4:
1 I mean that the heir, as long as he is a child, is no different from a slave, though he is the owner of everything, 2 but he is under guardians and managers until the date set by his father. 3 In the same way we also, when we were children, were enslaved to the elementary principles of the world. 4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.

And Henry agreed. It's really not saying women aren't women anymore, Slaves aren't slaves anymore, etc. We are still what we were, but we are Daddy's (Abba's) darling children always. Henry isn't using it as an excuse to say women can do everything a man can do (and vice versa.)

The alternative is to let him criticize another brother which won't promote Biblical truth. I would rather side with truth.

Right Exodus. Have you read the Laws of God about slavery in that book? They're mind boggling. (And it freaks me out that it's okay to beat a slave, just as long as it doesn't kill them.)

Hm what is everyone complaining, I thought it was a fun thread. Gonna make a new one: Can paster women wear pants?
You know... I am picturing those people who really do seem to have pasted on their pants.

When you say women do you mean like Bruce Jenner?
Upon thinking on this, I believe you have a very valid point. What of Caitlyn Jenner? What of all the transgenders who come onto this site and wonder about this? Those who are seeking Jesus and want to know the order of things, as you say? Who would you proclaim to be the submissive wife in the marriage of two men or two women? I'm sure there are many same sex married people who come onto this site looking for God and wondering about it. Wouldn't you say? What do we tell them?

I'll tell you what I will tell them: Seek Christ Jesus with all your heart and ask Him for wisdom. Because the Holy Spirit is our teacher and ONLY by revelation of the Spirit of God can we know a thing as truth. It will NEVER be intellectually revealed. NEVER.

Because the flesh isn't able to receive anything from God.

I've seen street walkers dress with more class and modesty.
Stop looking at the street walkers so much?

Honestly. Theologically, I agree with you most of the time, but was that necessary? If it was a picture of a guy, would it come close to even hitting your mind? I'm not fond of the woman, but I won't take it down to looks, and I think that is a double standard we should have gotten over decades ago.

Stop taking it just to eye level for women only! If all we are to you is something to look at, that's a problem with your eyes, not the woman!

If a person dresses so that men look at a woman then it is a problem and vice versa.

Why don't men offended by women just blindfold themselves?
