The church is the people of God, not necessarily a congregation of people. Each can minister in his/her own way outside of the congregation to the masses. The disciples who wrote theses chapters were traveling missionaries and we cannot use their style of ministry as a guide for stationary ministries. Some ministers have many duties that prevent an outside job, unless it is part time, and even that might interfere with whole mission of these ministers. If you wish to use the disciples lives as a template, they didn't work at anything other than preaching and were supported by the believers in the cities and towns that they traveled through. Stationary ministers are supported by the believers in their own areas and the support is divided up through payment from the general revenue provided by each believer in accordance with their faith and desire to support their church and pastor.
God gave every one different gifts and also, as is evidenced by the two different thoughts on this thread, different views on the same subjects. Each view is not necessarily wrong, but needs to be expressed and exercised in different ways. "Yet", if you have a desire to attend a church that is set up like you are describing, then God may be telling you to begin your own congregation with no paid pastor and everyone having a voice in the service. Thinking about it though makes me wonder what will happen if you congregation grows real big, The JWs do their churches similarly and are always building new buildings in a different area when the congregations get too big for the one building. They never make the one building bigger. I am not saying that you should join a JW church, but only that your idea might easily work, if you can find like minded believers. You might even draw the rest of us away from the style of church you dislike. I don't see either style of church as going against the word of God, but if it grieves your heart, I am sorry that you are being caused strife.
Sorry folks. I think I rambled a bit on this.
So you are saying that the bible template for the body of Christ assembly is outdated, wrong? Well at least you are honest about it. Dead wrong, but honest on your belief system. And a very dangerous place to be.
Im still holding to the word of God. I cannot compromise or join those that do not believe God had it right.
'There is a way that seems right unto a man but the end thereof is destruction.' Proberbs 14:12
'My people perish for a lack of knowledge'. Hosea 4:6
'Son of man, you are living among a rebellious people. They have eyes to see but do not see. Ears to hear but do not hear. For they are a rebellious people. Ezekiel 12:2
The NT warns of the last days apostasy thoroughly in no uncertain terms. All of you deny this truth.
Jetemiah 15. Your words were found. I did eat them.they were the joy and rejoicing of my heart....
I sat not in the assembly of the mockers.....
God tells the prophet ...let them return unto thee. But return not thou unto them.
And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brazen wall. And they shall fight against you, and prevail not against you. For I Am with you to save you and deliver you says the Lord. I will deliver you out of the hand of the wicked. And redeem you out of the hand of the terrible.
Some things never change.
Revelation 22:18 ...if any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book.
You guys are adding a boatload unto the word of God making it 'of none effect'. Mark 7:13 VOID AND NULL!
This is why the 'church' is dead, see: Sardis, and without power, and diseased with sickness.
And im the BAD GUY for trying to rescue the saints from all the bogus deception. Precious isn't it?
