If I've heard them on mic, very often I hear their voice when I read their posts. If they remind me of someone I know, I probably read it in that person's voice. Otherwise, it's usually my own. Or mine with a funny accent. Because I do accents a lot.
So far I've been mistaken for a , by the guys own words; yankee, on Isle of Bute (and a couple of other places), Swedish by a guy in England, and English (!) by a Scottish guy somewhere around the Borders. I cannot fathom how he'd think that

You sound like Kate Mulgrew. Honestly, I often hear people's voices on here according to the way they write or their avatar. (On a rare occasion, according to their flag.) In your case, your avatar looks like a younger version of Kate Mulgrew when she played the captain on Star Trek's Voyager. (This is how I know I'n wrong with accents. lol)

Okay! The Naw Naw Naw got you closer to Texas now. And since my cousins in MS (close to neighbors for ya) wouldn't say "darlin," you just moved to the right state in my ear.
Southern accent, but not Deep South, and, in truth, the most common accent I've heard out of Texas isn't really Texas. It's Hollywood cowboy movies back when they didn't have accent coaches. So the Texas accent I judge all Texas with comes from Billy Gibbons (with guitar riffs in the background.)
You sound like Nathan Fillion. But mostly because one of your older avatars made me think you looked like a guest star on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Little did I know that was the same actor (Nathan) from Firefly and he is now Castle. Unfortunately, he did have a bit of a southern accent when he was on Buffy, so that accent is included.

Reality has very little to do with this. After all, I'm a country girl to Mira. (I am. I just moved into the city 25 years ago, and location rarely affects me. lol)

and when you go further east, the accents will differ even more from the Texas accent(s). In Alabama we tend to streeeeeetch out some of the words...espescially the last word of a sentence....you are my freeeeeeind....lol....and be mixing the the "i" and the "e" sound somewhatBeing short isn't all that and a bag of chips lol... I think folks from outside the states will tend to say an accent is from Texas if it is from the South, now, Texas is mighty big, and the accents are way different in say Dallas, than on the la line, not to mention the northern parts of the state, so the Texas accent is a wide term...to say the least.
