Oh yes, Prince! How could I forget that last name?? Okay I'm going to hear some more of what he has to say, thank you!

He talked in the sermon you posted about something that has really flummoxed me for a long time! It's where the other believers told Paul, BY THE SPIRIT, that he was not to go where he was planning on going, and he went anyway! Not smart. I always wondered about it. Did he just believe they maybe weren't hearing the Spirit correctly? Was he just being stubborn? Did he not believe it because the Spirit didn't speak confirmation of it to him personally? Big mystery for me...

[/SUP]But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

Do you extract several truths from this passage?
JOHN 14
18
I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me.Because I live, you also will live.20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

To me it means ...

when I am in the spirit,
I am in Christ.

The church (and all it's members) is in the body of Christ -
the church is NOT on Maple street.
The church is IN the body of Christ.

So when I walk in the light of the spirit I am gathered together with the true church,
In Christ,
who is In the light.

I don't remember that particular one but I do know it is in Acts 21. The prophet Agabus said that the Holy Spirit says "In this way the Jews at Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles "

Your are welcome...

Maybe it was telling Paul ahead of time that trouble was coming....not sure if it was meant to tell him NOT to go...not sure about this actually. I hope you find the one you are looking for....:)

BY THE SPIRIT... and "Discerning" are terms you will hear "Christians" throw around like candy. Be wary of most of it. As the Bible uses these things, they are meant for us to govern our own lives. As many self-righteous people use them, they are their license to tell you what is wrong with you.

This is just an "aside." Nothing to do with that Scripture.

Amen....

I believe the term they use is "gift of discernment" ( this is in reality called - judging or being meddlesome ) which there is no such thing..it's called the "gift of the discerning of spirits" .....there are many different kinds of "spirits"...
