Self-righteousness, arrogance, and an air of superiority
has no place in the pulpit, male or female,
but a sense of humor and a willingness to Actually Hear
people's HEARTS often does, male AND female.

Okay. I don't think I am self righteous or arrogant or superior, but if I came off that way to you, I regret that.
I did say to PM me, so we could talk it out, and did ask you to pray for me...

My comment was not directed at you personally.
It's a general statement in keeping with the thread,
which was asked for by a few ppl.....to get back to the thread topic,
so that's exactly what I did. It's a general statement about pastoring,
and I'll stick by it, self-righteousness and arrogance has no place in the pulpit, male or female, but a sense of humor AND A WILLINGNESS TO HEAR PEOPLE'S HEARTS can go a long way to bringing about reconciliation, unity,
love and joy to the body, and glory to the Lord, but the back-biting, snide remarks, ignoring, LACK of humor, unforgiveness, and UN-willingness to be sensitive to the hearts of others that goes on way too much would disqualify many from being good pastor's in anyone's church, male or female.

Oh coby, that man was good and also very funny! That message is so true. The uncomfortableness of accepting love that is being offered freely is so foreign to us. We want so badly to do something to earn it because, no matter what the world, friends, parents, spouses say, their love is NOT that free. The love of the world often gives up, which proves it wasn't really love to begin with, because love never gives up.

~~~>Is that "a yes"?
That you are willing to be the chiefest and servant of all
(even of me)
in as acting Lord in his example (and in his stead)
eagerly desiring to spend some quality time
on the floor washing my feet
in submission to Christ (your own head)?
I need a pastor who does what
Jesus told his disciples to do, but
I cant find foot washers to save my life, you do that?<~~~
Yes, yes, stop already!
I surrender!
I can't take any more!
(I'm sorry, Lord, I'm sorry for adding
humor and lightness to this, I really am.
I know this is serious, Lord Jesus, but....)
Be fair, I'm only human!
I'll wash, dry, and massage your feet,
or any of a certain other feet, too.
I'm suddenly changing my position...
there IS a difference between male and female!
(foot-washing? first I need a cold shower!) :p
Calling attention to posts like this one above, where you were very inappropriate, playing around with double entendres, speaking of being excited and needing a cold shower, telling women you want to massage their feet (and this is only ONE of the inappropriate posts) - you seem to be saying that our judging of this to be inappropriate is somehow untoward on our part.
This isn't silly potty humor, which some find makes them giggle and they just can't help it - (me included) and some people find not funny. This isn't like that. This is distinctly sexual in nature. You were called out on it. Your response is to shame us as if we are unloving? To NOT point out the inappropriateness of it is what would be unloving. It would be unloving to you AND it would be unloving to the women you are doing this to.
Shame on us? Really? Shame on YOU, for trying to shame US to hide what you are up to.
And the fact that it was a WOMAN who was able to spot it and a WOMAN who made a move to stop it really speaks to the topic of this thread now, doesn't it??
Come to think of it, I'm not done opening my mouth on this.
It is important to both share what we are are being taught by the Spirit AND to listen carefully to everyone else.
I know it is hard to sometimes take the time to read an entire thread. But those who don't aren't usually wanting to share what the Spirit is teaching them on a matter but are rather just wanting to spout off all their opinions on the matter or their denominations opinions on the matter.
To carefully take the time to read everyones posts is respectful. If we find ourselves not wanting to spend that time, we should just say, ah, I'm in a lighter mood and feel like just chatting about nonsense (not to say that lighthearted chatting is wrong or bad, we need it sometimes), and not participate in the thread until we are ready to listen and read as well as speak.
Like I say, it's hard, because it includes reading the posts of the opinion spouters too, along with those who are really here to share and learn, and their posts can be draining when we want to get to the meat instead of the nonsense. But we shouldn't be here to run in and out of threads willy nilly, smacking into each other like little kids hopped up on sugar.
I guess that's all I had to say...
Aarrgghh! Lol.
You ladies just aren't getting my meaning.
MM, I know you. You're a catch, and there's probly
20 guys right now that would be happy to be your
guy, (and be blessed for it).
If they're too shy or afraid or for whatever reason
they're not approaching, don't let that be a reflection
on you....that's on them, not you!
My point about 'breathing' is that for the most part,
you all don't have to go all out to impress.
Most guys aren't out there demanding you have a Phd,
and dress in a ball-gown and heels, make a fortune, etc.,
we're just happy that your not guys, and you generally
smell a little nicer, and look a little prettier,
and feel a little softer, (so I've heard),
and most of us just want companionship
and support and loyalty.
At least that's what
most guys I know would be happy with.....
that's what I mean about breathing.....that you're
women and we love you for that,
just be women!
That msg one person said about 50something guys
going after girls half their age is kind of a shame....
I don't know guys like that, I know I'm not, and it really
does stink if that's any woman's constant experience,
especially our sisters.
I understand the anger over that,
but I really don't think all guys are like that. I hope not.
GBU, MM!
It's okay, nu. I'm not mad, I was just messing with you :)
Oh you've got to be kidding, sheesh.
Where were you?
We, (not I), We, were kidding around with each other,
and the one it was addressed to addressed me.....
it was all in good fun TO HER, we kissed and made up and moved on.
Plus, I consider her a friend and she's a pretty savvy christian sister,
she knows, as do others, that she can talk to me directly,
address me like a brother and tell me how she feels,
and if I was wrong to her, I'd apologize pronto.
Plus the fact, she's a married woman, for crying out loud.
What are you trying to accuse me of?
It's pretty disgusting, if I'm reading it right.
I'M NOT 'UP TO' ANYTHING,
and I resent your accusations!
I never said shame on you!
I'm not trying to shame anybody.
The only time I used that word was in an
un-related post regarding the thread,
where I said 'shame on other guys'
that are rejecting perfectly fine christian women,
I don't get that, and I was in DEFENSE of women in general,
so I really don't know where your coming from but it's not right.
You don't know me, you don't know my heart,
you don't know my family, you just don't know.
I get that there are some ppl that just have no time of day for light-heartedness or often read meanings into things
that just aren't intended, or written to them,
but alot of things are said that ppl don't like on alot of topics,
this happens to be one that particularly upsets you.
FAIR enough, I won't talk with you,
but I was always nice to you in the past,
so I'm not sure where your hatred is coming from.
I really only kid around with ppl I like and feel comfortable
enough to trust, and sometimes,
like if it's my mom or my sister or my neices,
I'l get a little bump on the arm or a pop on the head,
IN A LOVING WAY and they'll say,
'knock it off you're bad' IN A LOVING WAY
and we'll laugh (or groan and roll eyeballs)
because we're family and WE LOVE EACH OTHER,
they know it's not meant to harm but to bring a smile
because WE LOVE EACH OTHER and because
that's what family and friends do.
I'm sorry you don't consider us in that light,
and I will try to make a point of keeping quiet
or leaving the room when I see you enter.
Peace and love and forgiveness is the way, and
I hope to inspire good cheer, not nastiness, but
it's really YOUR insinuations and accusations
that are offensive.
I meant mine to kid around and show unity,
you meant yours to hurt me,
and to cause separation.
I find that offensive, but I forgive you,
because Jesus loves us
and that's how He wants us to be.
Now can we please get back to the thread,
and stop the personal stuff? There's a pm
if need be, but let's keep the personals off here.
We shouldn't believe every spirit.
1 John 4:1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
Doctrine is clear that a woman cannot be pastor and 2 Timothy 4:3 says the time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound doctrine.
God wrote it down in 1 Timothy 2:12 that women cannot teach men in the church because spirits lie and people lie.
Eve basically doesn't represent God in a leadership role because:
"We read in the New Testament, 'For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive' (1 Cor. 15:22). The New Testament does not say, "as in Eve all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.'
This is further seen in the parallel between Adam and Christ, where Paul views Christ as the 'last Adam':
Thus it is written,'The first Adam became a living being'; the last Adam a life-giving spirit....The first man was from the earth, a man of the dust; the second man is from heaven....Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven.
-1 Cor. 15:45-49 (see also Rom. 5:12-21, where another relationship between Christ is developed)
No. You're not getting away with that. I'm not going to roll my eyes and say, oooh, you're so bad, you jokester you, when anyone can clearly read that post and see for themselves where I re-posted it on this very page of the thread and can judge quite easily for themselves if it was inappropriate. Trying to shame me isn't going to work for you. Anyone can go look at every post in here by you, in fact, and can make the judgement for themselves. And if they make the judgement that those kind of remarks, like needing a cold shower, are appropriate and fine, then I would be at a total loss of words at what they think is appropriate for "Bible" chat. You took a thing very precious, Jesus' teaching of washing each others feet, and you turned it into a rude defilement. So, huh uh, you're not going to shame me, buddy. I can joke around like nobodies business. I'm a huge joker many times, but not with this.
It really does, but not in a good way. I've been poking, prodding, pleading, begging, and arguing with the men to step up for two threads now. I won't know if anyone heard until I see the evidence, but I certainly wasn't subtle.
You just shoved them all aside to attack a man and you didn't have the proof to attack. Mere allegations, based on, yet again, it being personal to a woman -- you. And he wasn't even aiming that post to you.
So you just became prosecutor, judge, and executioner all in one fell swoop, never allowing a mere man to deal with the problem, you never asked for a man to help you, and you outed the perceived problem-man instead of going to him first.
You just aired this out online to make everyone else question NU based on what you suspect, giving his character just a little less standing, because this was important to you and YOUR character.
Not only did you prove why women should not usurp, you also killed off Matt. 18:15-20.
So, yeah, you showed something, but it wasn't the stunning grace you proclaim.
You snookered in the exact way I was trying to prove women snooker. I'm ashamed! This proved the point.
I have no answer for you. It's like we are two continents away trying to talk on a string phone.
You just keep begging and pleading with them to do something since it's working so well.
As I said, if you think it's appropriate to turn Jesus' teaching on foot washing into that kind of lewdness, I literally have nothing to say to you.
He is the one who gives his character less standing, not me.
What do you mean by that, someone like me?
God gives us all gifts and talents. Your no different. And I am not equipped to do some things you can.
I am not judging you. I made it a point to say do not be insulted, I was just making an assessment based on your posts.
Whatever your situation, I am sympathetic, but there are people far worse off then you.
How about what is going on in Syria and Egypt and other areas in the middle east where our Christian brothers and sisters are being slaughtered for their faith.
Sorry to say this, but it seems to me that you need to have a paradigm shift and evict that woe is me spirit and strive to reach your manly Christian potential.
If you want, I will pray for what you like. I would like to.
Pray for me. That I have the wisdom to raise to young girls, one who needs cochlear's. Thank you.
Please don't hi-jack this thread. PM me if you want.
Back to this thread, do you think woman should be pastors?
Just another heads-up. (I'm not saying you're right or wrong, just personal experience speaking.) How many times has someone started a sentence about you with, "I don't mean this as an insult, but..." and then you took the rest as anything but an insult?
That very phrase is bound to get our backs against the wall. Not that some aren't sincere when they start that way, but the majority aren't, so we immediately wait for the hammer to fall.
