Before you run off to the promised land, remember you need to be rich enough to have insurance, or the hospitals won't help you if you are injured

Actually hospitals are required to help through ER. I didn't have insurance for years and was always helped in ERs.

Oh, cool. I was under the impression they will basically demand to see your insurance papers before lifting a finger

Well you wanna say something on your laws? we have to buy peperspray against dogs because you cannot shoot anyone nor get a knife. if someone hits you and you hit him more then once you get in trouble. people use deodorant as defence here thanks to our laws.
They are trying to do the same here. I believe this may be why people like Trump and Cruz are popular. People want the right to be armed. The police are basically saying they cant get to a shooting situation fast enough to save lives. They are saying have a strategy and be ready to defend yourself. Where I live you can get a permit to carry a concealed weapon. I pray every time I think of Europe. I even worry about my cousin who lives in London with his wife and baby.

Ya,not true. Ive had no insurance and was still able to go to the ER. I did not have work at the time and they wrote off most of the expense. Now that I am married I do have insurance. I'm from Canada where healthcare is free but you may die waiting to see the specialist. My uncle had a major issue with his leg and it took 4 months to see a specialist.

but... how come so many people in these forums are saying they need prayers because they can't do x y and z with their medical condition / scary symptoms because they need to fix their insurance? Are they exaggerating?
