well JosephsDream if that all they say your doing good:)
Though, just from my experience, I always feel I've done best, when thoroughly excoriated by somebody. There used to be one guy that I knew it was a very good day, the more exclamation marks he used.

My beloved son has been following Christ Jesus since he was three years old. The Lord called him and has used him to serve most of his life. He has never turned away (all praise, honor & glory to God!) though he was afflicted with terrible trials like Job. The world tried to snatch him away as it will do, but my son's heart never was overcome by it. God has held tightly to him and founded his feet on truth. He has a gift of godly compassion, knowledge, and music. Those are the areas God seems to glorify Himself through the most in his life. My son has encouraged me and other family members too many times to count, as well as pastors, friends and even strangers in the street. And he will be the first to tell you it's the Holy Spirit and not of himself.

My son is no fool. He is convinced that dating around trying to find a woman is not wise. He waited and prayed for years for a wife. The few times he has dated he broke it off as soon as it was apparent it wouldn't lead to marriage. He wasn't looking for a girlfriend. He was waiting on Christ alone to give him a precious wife.

Since he met Melita his countenance changed. His joy increased 100 times over! His health improved and his walk with God got even lighter. My son told me that all the troubles he endured in his life were worth it if it meant meeting Melita and having her in his life. I can't tell you how great the praises in my heart to God to witness my son & Melita's relationship.

All this to say.... if Melita says she's called to teach, preach, minister, encourage, sing, counsel, guide, disciple, or serve in whatever capacity the Lord urges her to do by His Spirit, I believe Christ for her. And any objections here are in vain.
Aww! Ohhh! Melita is your daughter in law!
It is funny that he found a woman with a sense of humor like his mother!

thank you very much =]

people say context is key to the scripture... but because all of creation is in God, the greatest context of scripture is God's heart.
Amen, young brother. We who are God's own should know that only the Holy Spirit can reveal His Word to us and that the flesh (logic, natural mind) cannot receive anything from God.

I Corinthians 2:11-14

Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.

Melita is the daughter-in-law of my heart! They haven't gotten engaged officially, but anyone with eyes and a heart for God can see where they're headed. :D

I am in such tears right now of sheer gratitude to have you all for brothers and sisters and that God has given you to me!
You have strengthened me and built me up in my faith and have ministered so well to me.
Now, you might think I'm crazy but something tells me you won't - but the Holy Spirit is SINGING over us right now.
VERY loudly!

I would gladly place myself under the authority of any one of you and I do humble myself under you and do this. And yet, it is not your authority that I place myself under. It is the authority of My Lord Himself who I see so clearly in you! I smell His fragrance on your robes. I beg you to keep abiding in Him so you can minister more and more to us.

I am very refreshed. And now I have to go blow my nose.

And before anyone goes off thinking I was some amazingly godly mother, let me stop you there. Witnessing the Lord in my kids' lives in spite of my awkward, bumbling attempts at being a mom only fortified my belief in Christ's faithfulness. He always secured my kids and kept them from destruction even when I failed them. Of course, I did the best I could as a parent, but I certainly made a lot of serious mistakes and had to own up to every one of them to my kids.

Anything praiseworthy in my kids' lives belongs to Christ Jesus! They take after their heavenly Father more than they take after me. Praise God for that!! Yay!! \:D/ He's so faithful!!

By all means, do blow your nose, but be under advisement the bolded, above, may call for further thought. Unless you're inspired by blonde jokes, of course.

Lol! Absolutely NO further thought required. I know my Lord when I see in someone!

As mentioned before, there was an instance here sometime ago, a testimony of a small rural church pastored by a woman, the community having no man to preach, though having prayed for a preacher. (Spiritual growth and the Lord's working in this congregation also testified to.)

Those of you absolutely opposed to a woman teaching, under any circumstance one would have to suspect, and just to clarify what you think, do you believe that church should be shuttered, disbanded? Or put it this way, is having no church at all better, if there's no man to officiate? Just very interested in seeing the verdict from any here who appear intransigent.
Still waiting on answers to this. Are you hardliners going to just wuss-out on the difficult questions, as usual? Be that way, then,

Why do blondes wash their hair in the sink? Because that's where you're supposed to wash vegetables.

What I think is that our Lord gives us a brief respite when we need rest and refreshing.
Sometimes He closes the mouths of lions.
Sometimes He sends bears to eat those who taunt His chosen.
But when He has given us rest and strengthening, He opens their mouths again because He trains our hands for war!

True, the reason for quoting it. But if the past is any measure, hard questions sort of go by the wayside, even on slower pages. This is also true of clear scripture verses that contradict what somebody is saying: they seem to have a way of not being commented on. The subject suddenly changes, you get personally attacked, or as if some troll suddenly stops serial posting.

I have a question. If I believe woman should be allowed to pastor, does that mean I am of another faith? Someone contacted me off thread and told me that and I am kind of shocked. I did not know this could get so crazy. Wow !
I have never had anyone tell me I am "of another faith' because of a disagreement on a biblical issue.
It is not as if I am saying that Jesus is someone different then who we know Him as.
Okay, so you're of another faith. In my way of thinking, that could make you a Baptist, Methodist, a nondenom, a Lutheran, or a bunch of other things. (I'm Presby, so there are lots of other "of another faith" out there, including quite a variety of Presbys. lol)

I staunchly, strongly, stubbornly cling to women should NOT be pastors.

BUT, oh well, if you disagree. Obviously "of another faith," but that doesn't kick you out of the faith in Christ that unites us.

You can even believe in evolution and rapture and we can still be together on the important-faith part. (Also against those two things too.)

As an ex-suburbia kid, all that does it keep us in the same camp but you may be over at the next subdivision. :)
