I'll miss you Sirk! I've enjoyed teh discussion!
I've heard the "church is in the mind" idea before. This is off topic, but just want to say that I'm dubious as to why a believer would not want to gather with fellow believers, but that being said, I don't think church is necessary to be "saved". I think one could go their whole lives without setting foot in a church and it wouldn't change whether they are a believer or not, but again, it would be an usual thing to do, but I'd listen to arguments. Though, by the description you've given of your workers, I don't think they've thought that through lol
One could argue capitalism sets the ground work for the rise of criminals.
It's a fact: Not everyone can be winners in capitalism. There needs to be winners and losers. There will be exponentially more losers than winners. The biggest conservative and capitalist can't really argue with this.
Well here's the other side of that. The argument for capitalism is that it's simply the best economic framework of government we have seen in the history of the world. We have seen capitalist governments, communist governments, and socialist governments (these are the three biggest ones anyway).
In theory, Whats supposed to happen in socialist and communist governments is that instead of getting winners and losers, everyone is just running a pretty good pace in the race. What ends up happening 9 times out of 10 though is that you are getting EXTREME losers (the people) and EXTREME winners (the government).
The problem is that governments can't control market value.
The glory of capitalism is that you at least getting SOME people that are doing ok and if the American Church actually did its job, it would trickle down and poverty would be fixed, buts that another thread.
^^ Well that's the nature of being a so-called "progressive". Updating, fixing, changing, evolving policies. I don't think it has to lead to tyranny though. It seems so weird to me that people are against this...especially on this site! lol I thought it was the Christian duty to give to the poor and help people... the homeless, the sick, etc... We go and do missionary work and all that but somehow it's wrong to do it through governmental processes and taxing? This logic is so bizarre to me. What's the point of missionary work? To help people and aide them, right? Giving to charities to make homeless and sickly people's lives easier... Free healthcare is an essential part of Christianity, to me.
Kisses... it DOES NOT work!!
Name one country on Earth where this model has worked!! The Romans may be the closest we ever came...
And u never answered my question...
While everyone likes to dream of universal healthcare utopia it is just not practical....if everyone gets healthcare your tax rates go up to fund that healthcare.....if everyone gets free/discounted college education guess what your tax rates go up to fund that....all these college kids screaming bernie bernie are getting conned by this guy b/c in the backdoor they may get initial college free but will be taxed out the wazoo when they get a job, it's a bait and switch to get a vote...nothing and I repeat NOTHING a govt gives is free you get charged for it one way or another........
When you're boo'd out of the Trump thread for not abiding by the rules so you come to the liberal thread...
Only to find out that all of the conservatives from the Trump thread are breaking the rules in the liberal thread the same exact way you did....
...You gotta be kidding me.
Courts don't make laws. The President and Congress can introduce a law. You never heard of over turning Roe V Wade? Something the death mongers like Sanders is afraid of.
Are you for abortion? Do you approve of the slaughter of over 1 million/year in this nation? Is that why you and the other is so supportive of Sanders...and you all call yourselves Christians? Sickening.
I can't tell if this is an authentic support Sanders thread or a joke one...someone clarify. hehe
Well, here comes Utah trying to harass me again... Aren't you tired of losing arguments from last night? You clearly have nothing nice to say about Sanders, so why are you trying to quote-mine me? Go back to the bigoted Trump thread if you hate Sanders...
As a Christian I could not support Mr Sanders socialistic views.
Well you can stay stuck in your errors in thinking if you wish and couch them in religious rhetoric if you like. We do have that right here in America for now. But I have a huge advantage over you in experience in dealing with lots of people who hold fast such thinking. A person who is secure in themselves doesn't need to think in terms of black and white. If you wanna share that trait with the prison population have at it.
Wow, you're even mean to people who are on your side if they don't agree with 100% of everything you say. GodIsSalvation was being nice to you, and you were just rude in return.. Real Christlike there.
Haha true true. As scary is as it is, one might actually prefer the option to take an honest Stalin over a lying Hitler. Hey you're kinda close to Holland right? What's it like there? I've kinda come up with a pretty genius idea where I post a bunch of pics of American flags burning and scary words like agorism and then set up a gofundme campaign where I promise to move out of the country if conservatives promise to buy me a nice a house over there. I'm fairly certain Mitspa and Sirk would cover 3/4 of the cost.
Gotta love nationalism.
Shhhh...don't tell them...
