Ask them why they don't want to believe in God. Say that God created him/her and He loves them very much. Read parts of the bible with them, particularly where Jesus gets betrayed, arrested and dies on the cross. Tell your kid that Jesus died for him and his sins, and that all he has to do is turn to Jesus. :)

When I asked why, she told me because she prayed and God didn't answer her prayer and the bad things that happen in the world. I told that God answers us in His time and the bad things are because of people not God. That it's the same as a child not listening or having their own way. God won't give you everything you want just as I won't because then you aren't learning as you must.

I think the most important thing you can do is be an example. Teach him love, humility, patience by your actions. That way, he will see that you live the word.

It might take time. My parents prayed for about ten years for one member of the family before he came to faith.
Keep praying. I understand it must be difficult, but God's word never returns empty

Please DON'T stress! ... I have gone through this..:) One word of advice... don't cram it down her throat! She will defy you even more.. esp. at 13... there is already a ton going on with her.

Promote the Word through your actions!

Advise her that satan rules THIS world... so bad things MUST happen! The answering prayers... is a more involved topic that requires a good understanding of the Word... so for now... promote God's love for her which she can never loose!

Hi Orchid

I Have 3 children and my middle who is same age as
your child also doesn't believe, he likes to reply when I ask him why with I believe in evolution and everything that Charles Darwin says!! :( I agree with Alex if you go on too much they will appose it even more, just let them ask questions and if they see it as your normal day living they may just follow in their own time, my youngest is 8 and very much believes he goes to a Christian church school, my eldest does also believe but more at home not when he is with his mates, which is a shame because he shouldn't be ashamed of being a Christian just because his friends aren't
Hope this kinda helps x

I'd pray, so I will lol ... Lord I thank you for my sister and child, I pray you would reveal yourself to this young man/woman. Byr your Spirit affirm the truth of who you are, and help mum to trust in you. In Jesus name amen.

Do not create the impression that God is a vending machine that we go to when we need something.

God owes us nothing and we owe God everything.

God does not always give us what we want because it is not always in our best interest to have it. God gives us what we need and keeps us from hurting ourselves through our lusts and desire for thing that are not good for us.

A good Father does not let His dear children play in the middle of the busy highway lest they be injured or killed. Our adversary the devil goes abut seeking whom he may devour. God is our daily protector.

For the cause of Christ

Can't or won't? Can't means that there is no proof that God doesn't exist. "Won't" means that God exists and he can't prove He doesn't.

The danger is forcing them because they might enjoy the alternative.

I would have a Bible study about why God doesn't answer certain prayers and keep a prayer journal of answered prayers you can share qith, her and pray together. My daughter is 7 and she loves God and prays for,her friends. She was baptized and explained to her friends why...because Jesus loves us so much He saves us from our sins and self.

Kids understand more than most people give them credit for. Dont water down the Gospel. Talk about hard truths like unanswered prayers and evil and evolution or you will lose your children to Satan's lies.

Do you know what she prayed for and did not, receive an answer from God about?

Perhaps the answer is in the Bible.

There is evil in the world because God allows people to choose to listen or turn away from Him. His grace gives them time to repent before He destroys them for all eternity.

He will eventually wipe away all our tears and give us new bodies that don't die or suffer and a new heaven and new earth.

But for now He asks we be light unto a dark world and love and life giving water to people who are hurt and thirsty for His truth.....

Your daughter sounds as if her heart aches for those suffering.maybe volunteer at a homeless shelter or visit the elderly?

It,helps to feel less helpless when we do God's work.

Yesterday we made crosses from the palm leaves and my,daughter is writing "God loves you" letters to send with them to her nana, grandma and others to remind them that God loves them and so does she.

We can't solve all the world's problems but we can pray and encourage one another. May God bless you and give you the wisdom and words to speak life into your daughter life.
