Plus, doctors need electricians and they don't care what I charge. Lol
The healthcare industry needs a whole host of complex goods and services. Infinitely more challenging for a government to comprehend let alone operate.

That isn't to say the government ought not have a hand in it. That pesky rule of law and need for justice.

It's a combination of many things as for why it's not working.

Bush and Clinton essentially let Wall Street do whatever the heck they wanted. The Republicans, way more than the "socialists" are to blame though. They had Bush as president, a Republican House, and a Republican Senate. What did they do other than fail the American people?

Then you have Obama who would have been a better president had he done absolutely nothing. He didn't cause the crisis, he contributed to it at an alarming level.

Funny thing is, let me remind you of "Socialist Sanders" views:

Against unregulated Wall Street
Against NAFTA
Against the War in Iraq which was an inexpensive, unnecessary, and dangerous war
Against the bail outs

But it's Bernie Sanders fault...
Hey girl..if you have not noticed ..many of us believe the Republicans are socialist just like the Dems... Reagan is the last true conservative leader we have had.

The whole idea that some people in this country think they would control other Americans diet in any way is very offensive to me as a American ... That's is exactly the kind of government we don't want and will fight to keep out of our country .. This is America ..where folks have the right to be fat and happy... one of the many reasons socialized healthcare cannot work in a free country.
I actually 100% agree with you. But would you be against financial incentives if complete universal health care was implement for people who: exercised regularly, ate health, didn't smoke, etc... ?

People can still eat McDonalds every day, but will not be offered any incentives that people who are conscience of their health.

It shows too that one can be against the same things and not for the same remedy. False equivalency is a contagion on these boards, I swear.

I agree with you to point about health care. People should be allowed to make a living. But these insurance companies and pharmaceuticals, and some hospitals; what they rake in, no way!

Well I'm not for a complete universal system :p ... So the question is not relevant

What will we have, health Nazis walking around making sure folks don't eat sugar and cheat the system?

In keeping with the spirit of this thread:

Sanders' political views are about 18% similar to mine. So I guess 18% of me likes him. :)

You mean incentives like......hey, we here on this death panel noticed that you drove thru kentucky fried chicken a few too many times....sorry, you're not eligible for treatment...be sure and tell everyone what happens when you do that.

It's funny you ask that. Insurance companies are already doing incentive programs. They give people fitbits and check their cholesterol, their BMI, etc... You'll know if their numbers go up/down and what the fitbits state.

Technology has made it even easier for us to get healthy.

This is a pet peeve of mine because I have taken great care of myself and it annoys me that I have to pay for other people's laziness or lack of discipline.

Yes that exactly the end result..tracking devices to see where folks go and what they eat.
