Now I can come back to this thread and use this picture as much as I want. :D when someone says something so outrageous that there is nothing left to say, this picture can be posted... Then I can get a good laugh. And yes., God has a great sense of humor. :D

You can also right click the picture and do a "save as" and keep it on your computer. Then insert it when you need to.....it does come in handy as you are right ..sometimes there are just no words that you can say...... :)

I was just reading my journal and I found this quote: This is what the gospel of the grace of Christ brings to us believers.

The true Christian life is one step after another into a territory of astonishment and amazement. If you are not astonished at the grace of Christ then you do not have the revelation of Jesus yet and what He accomplished in His finished work on our behalf.

I think you have a real gift for saying so much in few words. They say a good writer is someone who can do this. Blessings FreeNChrist. I especially like one liners you post..sometimes they are informative alone, then they can be informative as well as amusing.
:D
Thanks ladylynn.

I have to point out that grace7x77 believes we can walk in victory, righteousness and purity.

The problem is though he may have achieved this himself he does not know why others have not.

His answer is you have not realised who you are, or you are living like an unbeliever.

Translate this into, he does not know. People get a new spirit that is perfect at rebirth so they have arrived and should just walk in it. Funny that every christian on the planet is in the same boat, and this victory is not occuring.

I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word.
John 17:6

Obedience appears not to be high on the agenda, doing what you are told to do because that is deemed works of the flesh

It's not any kind of obedience that God desires for us, it's a certain kind of obedience. It's obedience born out of our love for Him as a response to His love for us. He is not interested in obedience born out of some legalistic sense of duty or fear. That kind of “obedience” is merely external compliance, while the heart remains unchanged and defiant. If God only wanted external compliance then the Pharisee's would have been His guys, but they weren't, they were the Enemies guys. Something you should think long and hard about.
I have to say, put simply I have never suggested anyone obeys Jesus out of a legalistic sense of duty or fear.

Listen to Jesus. He is saying those who know the truth obey Him.

I do not read anything about motivation or how they obey Him, just that they do.
Jesus is talking about obedience from the heart. For some strange reason you want me to believe that is not what I want.

I do not know why you are lying about what I am writing or my intentions, but it must gratify you in some way.

It does not change the reality. I do not understand why for you the Kingdom of Heaven is so difficult.
Let your yes be yes and your no be no. Anything else is from the evil one. You are certainly not following this, so why should I believe you know the Lord at all, my friend.

Do I love God? Amen. Why? Because His love set me free, and the only being in the universe that matters who loves me is the Lord above anyone else. For some strange reason I have no reason to say you are not my brother, yet your language seems to deny this. Not my problem though, for I know who I have believed in and follow, Hallelujah to My Lord, the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

There is some awesome teaching going on here. Wouldn't it be wonderful to be in an actual Bible study together in real time with each other!!? Pray for me that I find a church with people like you guys in it. I'm trusting God for it and know it is His will so it will happen. Blessings roaringkitten.
Yes, it would be a blessing to be able to study the Word in real time fellowship. It can get frustrating at times online when people come in disrupting the fellowship. We must always keep this in mind:

"Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them." Rom 16:17

Will pray you find a good church and keep contending for the faith here, blessings ladylynn!:)

This is very true. I always listen to preachers and teachers who preach on the magnitude of God's love and grace towards us. And they all have that sort of mind set you posted. God's grace is a deep ocean we are in and there is just no way to take it all in. Just when we start to comprehend even a little it is full to overflowing but there is more we have yet to see and take in.

It's also so hilariously funny how you start to love and see the best side of people and situations in life.
It's like getting saved over and over again. That is how revelation is. Although we are still imperfect humans in these flesh bodies with these issues to realize and walk through and out of, we are also our true selves IN Christ and He overcomes our imperfectness. The gift of no condemnation is used daily and we grow further and further away from the flesh and more in love with Jesus.

With this kind of gift from Jesus, sinning is not something we want to do. It goes against the very nature we are growing into.

Thank you so much roaringkitten! Being around believers who love Jesus and are walking in His love for themselves and others, they are strong even if they are weak in the natural. It's seeing Christ over again and again. There is no problem too big and no prayer that won't be answered.

It's no wonder the Bible instructs us believers to meet regularly together in a local assembly. The kind of encouragement and strength we have together IS like iron sharpening iron. (wow the Bible is true yet again lol)

And wow can you imagine the worship and the singing!!?? I've been in a few services like that and now understand what those Christians were talking about. And another thing I can see is how He then equips the saints! No wonder there is no lack. When we are weak it is then we are strong. Faith believes before it sees.

Hebrews 11:1 NOW FAITH is the assurance the confirmation, the title deed of the things we hope for being the proof of things we do not see and the conviction of their reality (faith perceiving as real fact what is no revealed to the senses.

Totally backwards in comparison to our human lives without Jesus. This is what we are called to. The just shall live by faith. Faith in His love and ability, not ours. He is able to do far and above what we can ask or even think.

Before the cross we were sinners in need of God, through repentance and faith, and after the cross we were sinners in need of God.

What changed is no longer do we have to become Jews to find God, no longer are we bound by the religious duties and regulations of the temple. Written on our hearts is Gods love which if we obey and listen to it, we walking in communion with Christ and do His will.

The Kingdom of Heaven has come to earth in the body of His people, we now have to walk in it and live by the power of the Holy Spirit.

If we walk in the light as he is in the light we have fellowship with on another and the blood of Christ cleanses us from all sin.

Being open and honest about where we are in this spiritual walk is everything.
Sin is an addiction to illusions, dreams of men for lust, wealth, power, glory, fulfillment which we have not got today. Whenever we think we have achieved it, it is not their so have to get more sin to get the same emotional fix.

In Jesus we have everything, love, acceptance, forgiveness, wholeness, truth, honesty, integrity. There is no greater thing than to be called a friend of Jesus, His follower, worthy of the Lamb. Amen and praise to His glorious name.

Before the cross, Christ was a nice moral man, who said some good things about how we should live.

After the Cross, Christ was God, with an infinite heart of love, who would give everything to redeem His people to His heart.

Oh what a Saviour.

No wonder the disciples were confused and did not understand until He died, who he really was. Peter said he would die for Jesus, and within hours never knew Him. We talk so quickly, with grand words, but when our lives are on the line, so easily buckle for the nearest exit.

Jesus did not, and knowing the fate that awaited Him strode on, though it took all His heart and energy. And we find exams hard, no comparison...

The life of Grace is an adventure where we discover more and more of what we already have in Christ.

"He must increase, but I must decrease." John 3:30
The idea of walking with Jesus is not the loosing of self, or identity, but the discovery of life and love, the core of real expression and fulfillment in everything you do. Christ is life, he makes what we were designed to be, to be real.
Sin destroys the soul of man, and strips them of life, Jesus gives us our lives back.
PeterJens, on this, I mostly agree with you .

In Christ, our identity DOES change - we go from being in Adam to being in Christ - Forgiven, given the Gift of God's Righteousness, and given New Life. That doesn't mean that we cease to be who God created us to be, however, but we become the fulfillment of who He created us to be.

In context, the passage above is John the Baptist speaking of the Messiah, the Bridegroom, and he sits as a 'best man' of sorts, readying the way for the Bridegroom and His Bride, and just as the best man steps to the side and all the focus goes on the Bridegroom with His Bride, John desires the same. Here's the exchange, in context, as John was purposing to take the spotlight off of himself and put it onto Christ:

25 Now a discussion arose between some of John's disciples and a Jew over purification. 26 And they came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, he who was with you across the Jordan, to whom you bore witness—look, he is baptizing, and all are going to him.” 27 John answered, “A person cannot receive even one thing unless it is given him from heaven. 28 You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, ‘I am not the Christ, but I have been sent before him.’ 29 The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom's voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now complete. 30 He must increase, but I must decrease.”

31 He who comes from above is above all. He who is of the earth belongs to the earth and speaks in an earthly way. He who comes from heaven is above all. 32 He bears witness to what he has seen and heard, yet no one receives his testimony. 33 Whoever receives his testimony sets his seal to this, that God is true. 34 For he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for he gives the Spirit without measure. 35 The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand. 36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. (from John 3)

Here's the paradox - as we are led more and more by the Spirit of Christ in us, more of His Fruit is produced in and through us. That does not diminish who we are, but brings the purposes for which we were created, as you so beautifully stated above.
