I can't prove to an atheist that God is real, does that mean God doesn't exist?
Totally irrelevant.

We are not talking about "does God exist" or evolution v creationism.

You are addressing fellow believers in Christ who have accepted Christ as thier saviour and master, with claims about a single Bible that was translated over 400 years ago.

The claim you make about the King James Bible is extremely serious and has massive implications, yet you can not prove it to fellow believers in Christ, not sceptics who reject God is real.

Further if it was so important, then would you not think that the Holy Spirit would scream at every Christian to read only that version? BUt that has not happened to myself or others, why is that? How about because it is not an issue and Gods word has been preserved in all versions and copies.

When you start claiming to other beleivers that you have special knowledge and insight and everyone must follow you regardless, then that is the making of a cult and offshoot within that main group.

As I have said numerous times before, I have tried to engage you all with serious questions and wanted answers in hope something may come to light, but all I get is smoke, mirrors and misdirection and when that fails, just go for the lets reply a question with a question.

Therefore it has become very clear to myself that your claims are misguided and have no foundation on God.

here's another error that you and your brethren refuse to acknowledge

Staunch Calvinist Theodore Beza was one of the editorsof the Textus Receptus. The KJV translators had hischanges, which included “If they shall fall away” in Heb.6:6. Such a misrendering helps to preserve Calvinism’sperseverance of the saints. Adam Clarke’s commentaryshows the errors of that as being: (a) the word “If” was unjustlyinserted and (b) the tense is aorist, meaning it shouldbe translated in the past tense, “HAVE fallen away.”Another distortion occurred at Heb. 10:38!

you ask for proof of errors and when you are given them, you ignore them

it is inconceivable that people would actually think a version of the Bible in English was inspired by God

and everyone who speaks a different language is going to hell because they don't have the inspired version

you may not believe that folks who do not swear to the KJV only club are not saved, but apparently many do, which is one of the main reasons that KJV onlyists are considered to be a cult with erroneous teaching...

erroneous teaching ALWAYS includes a refusal to acknowledge that another outside of the group may be right

it also ALWAYS teaches that the interpretation given by the group is 100% correct and unquestionable...meaning everyone else is wrong
The fact is that KJV translators did not used the 1565 works of Theodore Beza including the other editions of 1582, 1598 and the editions of 1604. The Translators did in fact used the 3rd Edition of Stephanus in 1550 AD. So close yet so far...

for some reason, your concept of God does not sound like the Holy One of Israel

again, David repented...and Moses body was claimed by an angel

the drunk was not chosen by God...that is only your wishful thinking

all of us are sinners and remain such until we accept Christ as our Savior...we don't remain drunks or unrepentant
By Providence, I mean He can use the wicked King like Nebuchadnezzar... by Providence God can use Balaam's ass in Numbers 22... well...that's close yet again so far

Wow. Not only is this despicably arrogant and demeaning, it is yet another logical fallacy: an ad hominem attack. You can't refute an opponent's position, so you attack the opponent directly instead.
Telling the truth is not being arrogant. You too can't understand anything I say either for the same reason. You guys don't believe the bible so there's no way you can learn about God. Your so blind that you can't even understand what I mean about not believing the bible. All you guys do is spew insults to people that know something you don't know.

May I side-track just a moment to ask a question?

Are most of the topics in this Bible Discussion Forum this unfriendly? I've already figured out that I have very little business in the Politics section here because that place does get very heated, but if it's the same in Bible Discussions, then I'd like to know so I can avoid it in the future.
People do get angry when someone comes into a thread and tells the truth.

It's interesting how you try to create a legitimate defense and have grabbed on to a truth to attempt to apply it to your philosophy

what you are doing here, is attempting o give the KJV credence as inspired and original because it would have to be original in order to be inspired

the KJV contains the inspiration as do the other translations, that originally was given by God, through His Spirit, to the writers and prophets

the KJV is not inspired...the NIV is inspired too if you want to make that your 'proof'

we have ORIGINALS available...so why would we need the KJV for English speaking people? That makes no sense at all...

According to you, unless you speak English and have the KJV circa 1611, you will never really have the truth

yet, we know for a fact, that the 1611 version has been corrected numerous times

Show one correction in the KJV please.

and there we have it! only took 51 pages
Granted it did take 51 pages for me to finally realize that you can't convince someone the bible is inerrant when they don't read any bible for what it says.

Amen! The KJV has produced more fruit, seen more people get saved, seen more missionary movements than all of the modern versions combined times a million.

By their fruit you shall know them. I rest my case.

There is no way to convince a "Christian" who does not believe any bible. You dont read and believe any bible for exactly what the test says, YOU ADD to it.

I don't pretend that I have "special knowledge" only available to me, what I've learned and try to show others comes directly from the bible, no adding to the words, no taking away from the words.... you will never get it though because you don't believe the bible word for word exactly as its written. You don't believe any bible word for word as it's written. So stop making a big deal out of me not being able to prove the KJV until you start believing what the bible says... If you will do that, you will know that the KJV is the inerrant word of God.

I believe every word of the Bible, Of course it is up to you to prove it, you are the one making these claims, you are the one who should teach this and prove it, but you fail every time. Answer this, you did not answer it despite quoting me, if this Bible issue was so important, why isn't the HOly SPirit telling me about it, why do not others get told?

Of course if I told you i could speak a couple of other languages fluently and read other versions, there where do I stand with King James? DO you then insist I throw all the other languages out and only read English King James?

God gave his word to all languages, I can't vouch for bibles in other languages because I don't know other languages.

You have already shown that you don't believe the bible for exactly what it says. You said the NIV verse here is right. It is not right.

John 3:16New International Version (NIV)

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life

HOw many other "onlyists" are there in other languages then?

IF I just read that verse in another language, then what?

Just because you do not agree with an interpretation does not mean you are right. Plenty of people use same verses to debate opposite sides.

You continue to fail to prove anything, you even admitted it, yet you now come back after that and are obviously trying to rectify and backtrack on that.

Sorry I missed the part about the Holy Spirit...... The Holy Spirit will not speak own his own, he only speaks what he hears. So I guess you guys aren't giving him the right words. Which is exaclty what I'm trying to tell yall. The Holy Spirit teaches by recalling scripture to our memories. If you give him bogus scripture he aint gonna speak, he can't speak because he only speaks the word of God, not some translators opinion of the word of God.

The bible is not up to anyone's interpretation, it means exaclty what it says, not what we interpret it to say.

But you interpret verses to mean something that it does not, you cherry pick verses and shoehorn them to fit your agenda, it is clear as day you do this.

You should rent billboards and plaster THAT all over. If people would pay attention to it, there wouldn't be so many goofy, false, misleading doctrines in the world; and you'd end up saving a whole lot of self-professed Christians who think they are saved and are going to be shocked when they get sent to the lake of fire. Some denominations base their entire catechism on taking one or two passages in the Bible completely out of context, and that's scary.

There is truth, historical facts to be had in the following verse.
[h=1]Luke 10:1 (KJV) "After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come."[/h]Modern versions have Jesus sending out seventy two. Which is true? If it's seventy, then you can throw out all modern versions to be the word of God. And if it's seventy two, let's throw out the KJV. Agree?

I can't believe you say that, that's my whole deal, believe every single word of the bible for exactly what it says. Can you give an example of where I have done otherwise.

I'm afraid they wouldn't pay attention to it. I don't think they even realize what they're doing. People claim to believe the bible for exactly for what it says and add to it seemingly without even realizing what theyre doing. it's very strange to me, I don't understand it.
