If you want to consider the new creation in Christ created in righteousness and holiness as "evil"......that's your choice. The scriptures say the exact opposite about the inner man of the heart now in Christ.

Sin is in the flesh now and not in the new creation in Christ. Rom 7:17-20

The Mark 10 scripture the Lord talking to the rich young ruler who only recognized Jesus as "Good teacher"..Jesus was asking him why did he call Him good when there is no one good but God. The rich young ruler only saw Jesus as a teacher of the law and not who He really was.

Christ endured the cross for us, let us likewise deny ourselves and take up our cross daily and follow Him(Luke 9:23). Whenever your walk becomes unbearable, "consider Him" in all things! Always be mindful of all He has done to redeem you! For the Scripture says:

"Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it." 1 Thess 5:24

Amen Roaring! That is what changed it for me. When we fail (and we will) we must look to Jesus and His finished work on our behalf. The Bible says the reason believers lack these qualities of the fruits of the Spirit is because we have become blind and shortsighted - forgetting we were purified from those former sins. (Discouragement sets in and we are looking at us and not Jesus.)

This was a major eye opener. It is exciting to be learning more things in the Bible I had never applied. We will be learning about Jesus and how to walk by faith each day if we keep on hearing and hearing and hearing. His mercies are new every morning.

Reading the Bible and hearing the Word of God preached many times during our day builds our faith in Christ and shows the love of God to us in such a way we can't get enough of it. His love not only builds us up but also constrains us to do what we need to do and we do it with a full heart of assurance. This application of 1 Peter 1 and finding out why I lacked these qualities for so long changed my walk.

When we know we are forgiven and secure in Christ. That God loves us unconditionally because of the righteousness Jesus Imputed to us, it changes everything. It empowers and encourages and takes away all the condemnation the enemy can throw at us. We need this or we cannot have these qualities of 1 Peter 1. It's knowing our standing is IN Christ and not our flimsy efforts. And then is the power to do those things given.

Ok, but here's the deal.... when we were IN Adam - his sin was IMPUTED to us at birth so no matter the good works we wanted to do, they didn't matter since we were IN Adam.,IN sin and condemned already. We were dead to God and alive to sin. Our old man was our identity.,our righteousness is no righteousness. The Bible calls them filthy rags.

But when we received Christ, we were IMPUTED HIS righteousness and brought into the family of God becoming sons and saints. No longer to be called sinners found IN Adam but instead sons found IN Christ. IMPUTED RIGHTEOUSNESS is ours for real across the board.

We are Righteous IN Christ now no longer sinners IN Adam. When those 8 souls were on Noah's Ark, they were safe but everyone else perished because everyone else was not IN the Ark. If they did anything right or wrong, they did it in the safety of the Ark. Jesus is the Ark of safety. We need the Ark of safety or we drowned.

J. Lee Grady, former editor of Charisma Magazine, once said, “I still don’t know what’s more outrageous: That programmers allow such insanity on Christian television, or that gullible Christians fall for it year after year.”

Mr. Grady made this comment as it refers to the popular error which I have appropriately labeled "Hyper-Prosperity."

But it could also easily apply to the error which I have labeled "Hyper-Grace."

Why Hyper-Grace?

Why add the prefix “Hyper” to the root word “Grace” when describing this popular, erroneous doctrine?

Because “Hyper” means “to go beyond, to be fanatical or even obsessive” about something. It also means “to go beyond that which is normal.”

The popular teaching of Hyper-Grace has gone beyond the written Word of God, and in some instances, has become fanatical. Many have even become obsessed with this irresponsible, highly popular teaching.

I mean no offense or insult when I use the term “Hyper-Grace.” It is a grammatically correct and perfectly descriptive term to respectfully use when referring to this error.

Someone once accused me of “Not using grace to teach on grace,” referring to my Biblical, straight-forward teaching as “disgraceful.”

It seems that the majority of people, including Bible-illiterate Christian people, love fantasy.

Following are some quotes from Joseph Prince's book "Destined to Reign."

"There are nothing but blessings for Believers." (page 53)

"God will never judge America for her sin." (page 49)

"If you receive a word from someone which brings your sins to remembrance or instills an expectation of punishment for sins in your life, don't fear it. Just throw it out the window." (page 45)

"Repentance and confession of sin are never necessary." (page 53)

This last quotation from him will be the primary focus of this book, "Joseph Prince: The Dangerous Error of Hyper-Grace."

Joseph Prince's clearly unbiblical insistence that because grace abounds "all sin is automatically forgiven" has made him the leading voice in the world of milk-toast Preachers who are raising up a generation of carnal, baby Believers in Jesus Christ who desire only the milk of God's Word.

"And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto you were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able for ye are yet carnal." (1 Corinthians 3:1-3)

But this is not what the Bible teaches. As a matter of fact, the Bible teaches quite contrary to this.

The Bible says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)

Let us look again at 1 John 1:9 together in order that we may see one of the Hyper-Grace Teacher's most horrendous errors.

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)

By focusing in on one key word in this verse of Scripture, we will clearly see that the Apostle John's First Epistle, along with his other Epistles, was indeed written to the Body of Christ, and not to the lost people of the world as the deceived Hyper-Grace Teacher insists.

That key word is "we." The Apostle John said, "If we confess our sins ..."

The word "we" is used in communication when referring to a collective group of people, including the individual who is writing or speaking.

The word "we" is used to denote oneself along with another individual or other individuals.

The Christian Apostle John deliberately used the collective pronoun "we" in addressing those Christians to whom he was writing concerning their (our) need for continual repentance in order to experience continual grace.

I don't know how one could come to this conclusion that you stated above, as true grace "teaches" us to live godly in this present world. This tells me that the gospel of the grace of Christ is not fully being understood. Post #62 and #66 may help you on why we confess what Christ has done in His finished work.

Ok. I found a technical issue here to argue with as the writer probably doesn't believe in OSAS and it seriously interferes with Ephesians 2:8-9 but none the less it is a good article. This is an example of why the moderators should allow me more than five minutes to edit an article.

his teaches me a non Biblical conclusion.
It discourages me from repenting.
It teaches me that I have no sin and nothing to confess.

I don't know how one could come to this conclusion that you stated above, as true grace "teaches" us to live godly in this present world. This tells me that the gospel of the grace of Christ is not fully being understood. Post #62 and #66 may help you on why we confess what Christ has done in His finished work.

How could I conclude that when my confession is a denial of present sin in my life and confessing something that isn't true is a lie and mind control or brainwashing? I don't mean these things to you personally but this is the conclusion I come to.
When I think these things, it makes me blind to my sins and pushes out other thoughts like reality.

I've actually seen the same teaching in the mormon church where mormon leaders tell people to make up a testimony even if they don't have one because it is in faith. It is called lying.
