I am inclined to start this thread to explain some misconception about muslim religion. I have been born and bred in a muslim country for all my life. As such I think I have the standing (right) to comment on this subject. Muslims, like Christians are godly people. They also believed in God, live a moderate and peaceful life. In fact there are some similarity with Christianity. They believed in the same God as we do. Let me explain. If you were to read the Quran or aware of its content, you will notice that their Quran is basically the OT of Christian bible. All characters that were mentioned in the OT were also reflected on the Quran. Couple of years back, I had the opportunity to tell this statement to my muslim friends. They looked disbelief and we eventually agreed to test it by I mentioned all characters in the OT of the bible (Adam, Eve, Noah, Abraham, Issac, Jacob, Joseph etc...while they mentioned those characters in their Quran. You know what, they turn out to be the same name, the OT one in English while the Quran is in Arabic.

I remembered what our lord Jesus have said before He gone up to heaven "he had commanded His follower, Christians, to share the good news about God's salvation for mankind to everyone on the face of this earth baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, with promise that he (Jesus) will be together with us. (Matthew 28:18-20)." Without any hesitation I told them (my muslim friends) about Jesus. Their response was they don;t believed that Jesus is the Messiah. However, they believed Jesus to be a prophet of God like Muhammad, who were sent by God as God's messenger. I was unsuccessful to convinced them bearing in mind that it is an offense under the Syariah laws for a muslim to convert to other religion.

Like in any other religion, there bounds to be cults, extremists who manipulate the truth of their religion for their own agenda, benefit. I personally think that thats the reason with muslims terrorist/ extramist like IS,Abu Syaaf, Osama bin laden etc.... They hate the west and they manipulate the truth with lies in order to win enough support in their communities to against the west to achieve their personal agenda. Sadly, there are many muslims who fall into their lies. This reminds me of what the bible said about Satan, a roaring lion looking for someone to devour (1Peter6:8-9), and a master deceiver. He (satan) likes to deceived people so that they will perish like him in the last days. But take courage, our lord Jesus will be the one winning this spiritual battle for us, Praise the Lord.

Lower-case, god....as Muslims are deceived and worship Satan and his demons.

No.

They do not.

Does their god have an only begotten Son?

Didn't think so...

Actually, it copies more of the NT than it does of the OT.

>75% of the Koran is composed of paraphrased Biblical Book of Revelation material, alone.

All characters that were mentioned in the OT were also reflected on the Quran.
Not even close.

Where do you get the misconception that muslims are GODLY people? muslims worship allah....a moon god of ancient Mesopotamia..that required human sacrifices. Muslim women are forced to be minions, baby factories, and heck, lest we forget, get shot on school buses if they try to get an education (remember Mylala?) Yes...arabs come from Ishmael, Abraham's son and his little slave girl Hagar, while Isrealites come from Isaac, Abraham and Sarah's son. But to claim that muslims worship Jehovah, GOD..is a joke! Besides...this is a CHRISTIAN chat...Do you go into a Muslim chat and defend CHRISTIANS to muslims as fiercely as you defend muslims here? Just curious.

hi chan, thank u for sharing this. I have not read ur other posts on islam as pwr mentioned, but sometimes it helps to be informed abt how it is w/ one who lived amg them, unlike if u were just knowing abt muslims from a distance from the news, wc is often abt the terrorism more prevalent now of course.

Somewhere in this thread i think, i have posted a link to a testimony of a converted iraqi politician who grew up muslim... but by God's grace He has called and chosen. I cannot think of other words, but it is a witty testimony, that has sure blessed many not sol familiar w/ islamic culture apart from what we hear on the news. There is a libyan? lady, also a convert to Christ who speaks on radical islam but their names (just as ur user name) are not easy to recall as john smith's is, so let me see if i can find their names later. Far too early for me to re-search and eyes in fact hurting.

I wish to share also that based on what Ive learned, the muslims will eventually be the anti-Christ while those unbelieving Jews will be the false prophets before the coming of our lord Jesus. What happens is that those moderate muslims will eventually became radical.

I agree with your belief that Islam will be a part of the end times. I do believe the Mahdi will be the anti christ. I believe "Isa" will be the false prophet, though.
I do not believe the Jews will be the enemy in those days. The day of the Lords vengence comes because the nations gather against Israel. They will persecute His people, and He will come to save them.

The Jews (or majority anyway) have not accepted Him yet, but they will. "The stone that the builders refused has become the cheif corner stone", this whole thing has been foreseen by Him, and He has a plan for it.

As in Jesus times, there are stubborn Jews who denied Jesus as their Messiah. So they are given opportunity to repent because of God's convenant with Abraham. However, their chance will be ended when Jesus comes again.

I would agree that those of the Jews who have turned from God into sinful living will not be saved, but we are told that there is a hardening over Israel, and it will remain until the fullness of the gentiles. And that in the end, He will remove their sins and they will be saved as well. Its written in Romans 11:25-27. I do not believe He has left the Jews, they were prophecised to turn on Christ, and in this verse, they are prophecised to come to Him when the fullness of the gentiles has come.

Just an update. I came to know that the IS have lately carried out attacks on muslim soil as well eg, Turky and Indonesia. This validate my opinion that the IS are extremist/terrorist.

IS is an terrorist organization or muslim extremist who mislead there fellow muslims into believing and supporting their cause. Thank God their scheme has fallen now. In attacking their own brotherhood (Saudi Araba, Indonesia, Turkey) isn't it they show the world that only an extremist. Muslim preach peace like any other religion.

If muslim religion is as cruel like some of you have said, then there won't be any christian around muslim countries. Take a survey and see how many Christians are around in muslim countries, you will be surprised.

Around 150 million Christians are persecuted throughout the world in largely Muslim countries. Some other offenders are Buddhist or Hindu or the like, but most are Muslim. This is not extremist behaviour. This is largely the norm in non-Western countries.
