Oh then for sure they're going to heaven.
But then as a finishing touch God created the Dutch.
and then the Dutch founded New Amsterdam!

(grr... silly English took it and renamed it New York  lol)

Soooo... will people who believe along the lines of Arminius or Calvin be part of God's peeps in heaven?

(And, I have to say, at least Calvin's name is easier to spell. Would Arminius have changed his name if he knew there would be a country that sounds like his followers, and yet doesn't spell it the same? Got to say, the other name for those who believe like him is easier to spell.)
Jacobus Arminius is just the Latinized version of Jakob Hermanszoon....

would Hermanszoonism be better?

Frankly, I am, by man's designation, a Calvinist because I understand the purpose and history of the doctrines. The real doctrines vs. the whole should women be deacons, or is tongues for today, or is there an age of accountability (although that last one is easily dismissed by doctrine.) They are God's words and prove through his word.

And today? Today everyone is busy reinventing the wheel instead of sticking with the wheel.

So, yeah, I get why follow a man. Otherwise we're stuck thinking we are The Man!
i think John Calvin would be horrified to find people using his name, though, don't you?

for him it seems it was just about the doctrines of grace

Depends!

(With reference to the title and the OP)

IF they have just repented and confessed all the sins they have committed since the last time they have repented and confessed every sin - before they have a chance, to move, think or breath, and they die - then they are still saved and going to heaven.

IF they have NOT just immediately done the above, then they have obviously lost their salvation, and will have to sit the rest of eternity in hell wondering why they weren't repenting/confessing 24//7 and if maybe those people who believed in eternal security, who were not to be seen anywhere in hell, were right.

(Just being snarky - God, of course, is the only judge! But the above has always seemed like the logical consequence of Arminianism and the false doctrine that a believer saved by God, can lose his salvation (or gain it!) by what he does, or does not do!)

PS. Not saying we don't live for Christ and obey his commands. That goes with the joy of knowing Christ, abiding in him, and walking with him daily!

BTW, I'm all for starting threads about KJVists. I think one should be started for Pennsylvanians too. How about left-handers? Mongolians? Grapepickers, but only if they're from Java? (Does Java have the right conditions to grow grapes?)

That's the point. We're into dividing God into ever increasingly small parts, like he just couldn't handle dealing with people from Gloucester County NJ born in the month of April but only in even years. And surely how could he ever save people before Christ came?

Are you kidding? This is for real?? How come they never taught that to us in Seminary? It would seem like the Dutch are taking over here.

I will have to write that down and remember it! LOL

Arminian has been dead for 400 some years.. Are there any true arminians even alive today?

I doubt that a man who has been dead for 400 years will have any affect on whether someone gets to heaven..
Sorry, brother. I have to do this. Have you heard of Jesus? ;) 2000+ years, and going strong (but to be fair, He did rise soon after He died).

It has to be asked now that two other threads are thriving with all sorts of self-righteous baloney.

Anyone want to dare get on the Arminian bandwagon? (How many people even know who Arminians are? And yet on and on they go with all sorts of baloney about other beliefs.)
I looked up Arminianism on Wikipedia, but the first paragraph was too long for my attention span.
