I will say it again though, you will find no man, preacher or not, whose mind is not still being renewed. Hence, you will never find someone who you agree with in all things you won't find the perfection you seek on earth. There are things your mind is not yet renewed on too.
Which brings me full circle, once again, don't demand perfection of men but look for the fruits of the Spirit to know if they are your brother and then bear with each other's faults.

Amen...the word "turn" there actually means "to exchange or replace"..these men Jude is talking about are not in grace and are telling people it's ok to live in licentiousness ...notice that they are denying the Lord and what He has provided in grace for us believers!

Grace teaches the exact opposite ( we have said this around 200 times now )....no grace believer or teacher says to go our and live however kind of a licentious life you want...no one..that I have even heard anyway and I have listened to over a thousand different messages from a score of different men and women of God and no one says that.

It's a straw-man argument to dis-credit the gospel of the grace of Christ.

have been forgiven = perfect passive

perfect = The perfect tense expresses perfective action. Perfective action involves a present state which has resulted from a past action. The present state is a continuing state; the past action is a completed action. It is continuously in the present happening to us.

passive = voice = action is happening to you....you are not doing it

Without a doubt this verse says that the sins are forgiven from a past action that remains in a continuous completed state and that was put on them....not something they did to obtain it.

Ephesians 1:7 (KJV)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

We have redemption = present continuous action...so this means we have present continuous forgiveness of our sins...

and look...that grace stuff shows up again!...it's all according tothe riches of our loving Father's grace that He has given to us in Christ our Lord.

Colossians 1:13-14 (NASB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,
[SUP]14 [/SUP] in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Same thing here too...present continuous action = forgiveness of sins


Redemption!..we have been bought with the precious Blood of Jesus... Let's honor His work

I hear what you're saying, Grace.

To add my own personal experience to it ... when I do something I know is against what Jesus taught me, I am convicted by the Holy Spirit (What the world would call conscience). God's word taught me what He likes and what He hates and the Holy Spirit won't let me forget it. Continual repentance, to me, is a sign that I am being sensitive toward Him and His Holy Spirit. I confess and ask forgiveness, for my sin, at the least, was that I was walking in the flesh when I did it. I therefore was responsible. God helps me to walk in the spirit, but it is not Him who helps me to walk in the flesh. To me it is nothing short of rebellion when I sin because I chose not to keep my eyes on Him and mind on things above especially when He is eager to help me to do so. That said ... I do confess and pray for His forgiveness. I am glad for His staff and His rod- they comfort me and I would not wish that I or anyone else start becoming insensitive to them. I would not promote any form of nonchalance toward the gravity of sin. I would not lean too far in that direction, lest I lead someone to believe that sin is acceptable... That is my personal caveat. I can honor Christ's finished work on the cross for salvation while still promoting God's likes and demoting His dislikes (His commands).

but it isn't like we have to come crawling to the Lord begging... and hoping... being unsure of forgiveness, right?

we can come boldly to the Throne of Grace to find help in time of need. :)

I understand in what you are saying and I agree. I believe scripture shows that as we are reminded of our forgiveness in Christ and being washed by His blood...we will grow in grace and in the knowledge of Christ. - like Peter talked about when listing the qualities that should be growing in us believers.

2 Peter 1:8-9 (NASB)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
[SUP]9 [/SUP] For he who lacks these qualities is blind or short-sighted, having forgotten his purification from his former sins.

Knowing the truth of our redemption ( forgiveness of sins ) in Christ enables us to live out in our outward behavior who we really are in Christ now - in our inner man created in righteousness and holiness.

It's wonderful to really know how great our salvation is in Christ.

Fruit of the spirit includes teaching correct doctrine. Without it we are lost. Teaching that the lord's prayer (or some part of it) is not for new covenant believers is not correct doctrine, and not of the spirit of GOD.

It takes "time" to find out what someone is actually saying. Putting people in categories is not a good habit for life and relationships AT ALL. And we have to have a certain amount of discernment and trust with one another so we can actually hear each other out. This takes time. Jumping the gun and running around yelling "heretic" serves NO purpose in a forum where we are supposed to be coming and reasoning together.

If we do not clearly know what is being said by being WILLING to take the TIME to hear one another OUT, we will do as HR and Peter do, run around yelling "HERETIC HERETIC FALSE GRACE TEACHER FALSE GNOSTIC CHRISTIAN GRACE TEACHER"

There is always more to the explanation of a Bible verse. There is often more times than NOT more than one meaning attached to Bible verses that do not contradict but enhance the meaning and understanding. This the way he Holy Spirit works to show us more truths IN the Bible and why we are to study to show ourselves approved unto God.,a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.

It takes TIME to read the Bible and it takes TIME for the work to be done of slicing through the joints and marrow of our being. The Word of God is the sword of the Spirit. The Word of God disciplines us and chastises us and points us always to Christ and His finished work. It doesn't cut us down, it reveals truth.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

It is always a mess when some brothers in Christ jump the gun and attach another brother with accusation. "This ought not be so" as the Bible says. Sure., we want the answers- YESTERDAY because we are creatures of time. But because we are., we have to work with one another (within) the confines of TIME.

HRFTD you must take TIME or you will always be on the outside being a lone crusader cutting down the brethren and the very fellowship and strength we all have together as one body. Making us strong IN Christ as one organized body working together.

And if someone is always cutting others down..what does that say?? We should be exhorting each other., sharing and admonishing one another. Not condemning one another. The enemy is the accuser of the brethren. We should never fall into the trap of doing his job for him.

Isn't the "come crawling to the Lord begging... and hoping... being unsure of forgiveness" thing just a mischaracterization used by the false-grace crowd. I agree with you that we should approach confidently expecting forgiveness, but we must approach seeking forgiveness. IMO unless we really know what the sin is, a humble attitude and acknowledgement that we don't see is sufficient for cleansing.

Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would not have sin. But now you say, ‘We see,’ your sin remains. John 9:41​

HRFTD, don't you think a time comes when you just have to shake the dust from your feet if no one will listen to the gospel you proclaim?
