What are some quotes that you read/hear and just think "WOW!"?

The one that has been going around in my head is by Charles Spurgeon:

“If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.”

Talk about a "wow" factor!

I've always liked one attributed to C.S. Lewis....

"You don't have a soul. You ARE a soul. You HAVE a body"

One I heard a pastor on Christian tv say awhile back is that when you are saved, it is no longer your business how people treat you, it's your business how you treat them.

Yes, that one is pretty thought-provoking! Screwtape letters I believe.

Nice idea for a thread! :) There's so many out there. I like the one in my pm window, and another one that really strikes me is this one (kind of a short prayer but anyway):

"My God, if my tongue cannot say in every moment that I love you, I want my heart to repeat it to you as often as I draw breath."

Yours was really nice too Tinuviel. Will be thinking of others for ages now! :D

That's neither C.S. Lewis or biblical. It's more Gnostic than anything.

[h=1] “Enemy-occupied territory---that is what this world is. Christianity is the story of how the rightful king has landed, you might say landed in disguise, and is calling us to take part in a great campaign of sabotage.”

- C.S. Lewis from "Mere Christianity"

Like that one. It kinda reminds me of Benjamin Franklin's quote: "We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately." Lover of stupid puns that I am, I've always gotten a grim enjoyment from it.
