At its crux, this is an identity issue. People accept a label and membership in a community, for support over something they can't control. A spiritual affliction propagated strategically by demons.
Homosexuality isn't truly about being attracted to the same gender. It's about being -dissonant-. It is sexual behavior as an expression of a great internal brokenness and dislocation. Like your leg breaks and fuses back together wrong, or your hip is dislocated and causes constant pain and is never mended. On a spiritual level people are numb, blind, and bound up, they can't see or feel all of what's wrong with them, but they feel enough and the wrongness manifests in their life. Homosexuality is about putting a label on this to validate it and normalize it and enable it, and to pretend it's not broken, because without God there is no solution, there is only pretense.
There is a spiritual agenda behind the spirits involved and how they use this. It tears at the symbols God gave us to grow society and family. It elevates the self as the determiner of truth and source of identity. It weaponizes the pain and torment stored up in these people as a radiant corrosive force on the moral fabric of society, an intractable problem which reacts violently in the spirit realm to anyone trying to stop its spread. It props up the humanistic ethics spirits that function like religious spirits.
Actual people bound in this aren't necessarily aware of how they're being used. I sympathize with believers who struggle with it, knowing it's wrong and not accepting it -- it is a deviously painful thing to be spiritually attacked with. So looking at someone who struggles with these sexual urges does not mean, looking at a participant in the agenda, even if their struggle is partly because of the agenda. Agenda isn't even the right word, it's more like a cultivated spiritual sickness, a channeled epidemic of the identity which the enemy is using like a 'biological weapon' against the church.
But it's all built on lies and pain, so it's self-defeating if we just connect to something better and abide in God. The Church's reaction to this in some cases is because we prefer dealing with it in our own knowledge instead of going to God and relating to everything from there... where the real power is.
I mean of course they're going to come up with all these terms and theories and ethics and ridiculousness because we aren't providing them the alternative. Throwing verses is not the same as loving someone. We need to look past the dissonance to the human spirit that needs God just like we need God. When we look at people in bondage to homosexuality, do we have hope for them, faith for them, love for them? Isn't that what's needed? I think what this all means is that we need to go to God and get more so we can give more and turn back the tide of brokenness.
