I don't think you understood what I wrote. It's not really a good idea to sugar coat thngs, especially war. To win a war, people murder people who are trying to murder them and the people that kill the most people or the people who take the snakes head, wins. Do I like it? No. Is it necessary? Oftentimes it is. Do I think that we should have gone to Vietnam? If there was significant evidence to prove that communism was going to spread here, yes. Do I think we should be fighting in the Middle East? Yes, because there is significant evidence to suggest that Islamists are coming here to take away our country and our freedom.
As far as my education and vote is concerned, that really is none of your concern and I would appreciate it if you used your brain before you respond.
I was trying to edit my post from before but I couldn't so I'll add here what I was going to add then.
I don't think you are correct on what conservatives "LOVE." I consider myself a conservative and I don't care for big government, I understand that in many cases a police force is necessary, and fighting drugs isn't a bad thing when done correctly.
I'll reply to this post as you were more detailed here. Here's the problem. If Muslims wanted to attack the U.S., they would just do it. Do you realize how easy it is to kill well over a hundred people in a matter of hours? You could literally get up out of your chair, go outside, and kill well over a hundred people in less than 12 hours (that's including the time to plan your attack) with a simple poison or crude bomb. There's a TON of ISIS and Al-Qaeda members all over the U.S., willing to kill themselves just to kill other people, and we haven't been significantly attacked in 15 years? How probable do you think that is? The majority of people in this country have smoked weed but somehow the FBI can magically be on top of terrorists? No, not very likely.
We haven't participated in a legit war since WWII. So what if communism spread in Vietnam? Do you know how many socialist countries we are already tight with and receive help and advice from?
Also, fighting drugs is ALWAYS a bad thing. Consuming drugs is an individual's right. It KILLS me when a conservative thinks that people are somehow adult enough to own a gun that they can walk into any crowded place and kill a ton of people with but they're somehow not adult enough to decide whether or not they want to smoke crack. How is that even slightly logical? If Joe Schmoe wants to smoke weed, he should be allowed to. If Joe Shmoe wants to be a complete idiot and drink bleach, he should be allowed to. That's big government, regulating things that aren't even crimes.
Btw, I'm not anti-gun. I actually think everyone should have one and be allowed to carry it openly anywhere they want. And I'm not railing you at all. I just wanted to fully explain my issue with U.S. soldiers thinking that they are somehow fighting for freedom. Didn't want to get labeled as some type of liberal commie haha.
