We must always let clear multiple scriptures be our guide and if an obscure scripture seems to contradict the clear scriptures - then this means we are not interpreting it correctly because we have a religious bias. Some things in scripture are progressive in nature too. As the disciples matured in the Lord - the more they knew about Christ and what He had done. Even after telling them 17 times He was going to die - they still didn't believe or understand what He was saying.

None knew about Christ being in us like the revelation that the Lord gave to Paul. Christ in us - the hope of glory is the mystery that we need to get a revelation of and what all that means to us because of our new creation in Christ.

Amen, and amen, Grace777x70. I also like things in green, and red. Would add that learning from Reformed Bible teachers you, by the Spirit, know to be of consistent, abiding Bible truth helps immensely, amazing how much agreement there is within a certain community of scholars, and how the cobwebs disappear.

The OP asked a question and deserves to know the answer. You IMO are doing her harm with your faux sanctimony.

That's funny! I've always gotten a kick out of the old love card, kumbaya routine, when scripture truth gets too close to home to refute. It's only judgmental, when it's you making the same sort of point, which, as you state, you're being judged over being judgmental. Then there's the old, when you've lost the debate, attack the messenger. I'll never forget one guy here who got so angry he actually tried to call the judgment of God down on people, said they were surely on their way to hell, that it was unpardonable to disagree with him. Awhile later, a couple threads over, he's telling people how anger isn't Christ-like.

Let's focus on Jesus, since Jesus is the subject.

What is it concerning Baptism that others have shared here (for CEF to review) that you find to be false and in need of correction?

Hey guys, I am taking time to read each of your comments. I have just been really busy lately with school. I have not forgotten about you! Then, I will reply back with a comment on yours! It's going to take some time, some of you have provided good verses and explanations! I will be getting baptized by water Sunday, that is why I am asking these questions! You guys are a great help!

That's great I hope your pastor is going to provide you with teaching relevant to this subject prior to your receiving water baptism.

I totally agree with your scripture that you used Revelation 1:5, water cannot do anything for us but it is a symbol of our faith to God! Thanks for sharing! I have also read Acts 17 and will keep that in mind!

Notice that Cornelius and his household received the gift of the Holy Spirit in Acts 10:43-47 BEFORE they received water baptism AFTERWARDS in verse 48. *Notice in verse 47 - "Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?" *TWO SEPARATE BAPTISMS.

Referring back to the events that took place in Acts chapter 10, Peter stated in Acts 11:17 - If therefore God gave them the same gift (Holy Spirit) as He gave us when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could withstand God?" *This was BEFORE water baptism (Acts 10:43-47).

I have been taking Ephesians 4:5 to mean that there is just ONE baptism either holy spirit baptism or water baptism, thanks for clearing that up. One thing I am not understanding though is I thought we were placed into the body of Christ not through spirit baptism but when we accepted Christ into our hearts. Don't we receive the Holy Spirit, when we accept Jesus into our hearts? Also, I have just read John 4:10, 14 and John 7:37 what is it meaning by thirsty? When do believer's receive the Holy Spirit? So, you get filled the Holy Spirit before water baptism?
 
I am not sure right now, but if there is I will definitely get back to you! I am going through everybody's comments right nowand examining it for myself, thanks for asking!

I'd not get hung up on complicated disputings you see here. Water baptism is appropriate, a blessed sacrament and a great outward profession of our faith in Jesus Christ. Having repented and come to the Lord in faith of the gospel truth of scripture, to save and sanctify you, believing He will one day glorify you, thank the Lord Jesus for His grace, His great love and salvation, for giving you eternal life by His Spirit, and simply enjoy your baptism, with joyful uncomplication.

Now.. in Acts you see the church at Jerusalem being empowered. This is the Holy Spirit coming as the Administrator of His churches.

(Act 18:27) And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:


(Act 18:28) For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.

Act 19:1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,


Act 19:2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

Here is already saved people.. who hadn't received the Holy Spirit.. how can that be?

That can only be if they were already indwelled by the Holy Spirit individually.. and hadn't received the Holy Spirit to be with them 'in the midst' as a church. --- Holy Spirit empowering a church 'Holy Spirit baptism'

Are you going to call believers called 'disciples' people who hadn't received Christ individually? Surely not!


Act 19:3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.

These people had been baptised by Apollos.. who didn't have the authority. It was as if Apollos was baptising in the name of John and not Jesus.


Act 19:4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.


Act 19:5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. - full immersion water baptism

Hey, can you show me scriptures of where in the Bible it talks about full immersion? I completely agree with you by the way, was Jesus not immersed by John? Baptism of repentance is that not water baptism? Who has the authority to baptize other beliver's?
