Sober in the Spirit excludes what exactley?

1 Corinthians 2:14-15 (NASB)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.

[SUP]15 [/SUP] But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one.
 
Sober is; Sensible (mind), and Serious (in action, by setting priorities, and negating disasters), in relationship to the Spiritual truths Jesus taught in His Word and thru the relationship where the Holy Spirit awakens us to a point of view. Now, in that premise the ability to play and have joy in the truths of God are no less real than warnings of doing it in a sensual way or way of the world. Sober is making by diligence, and steadfastness on our part the Spiritual truths God wroughts out in us to become our own intentionally placed lifestyles in our mind and body. Sober-minded is a mind in check always looking up to God. And not looking to human reasoning, understanding that in the whole of life we will face God's judgement. We are free in Christ, but freedom comes with what is better than what may not be.

My goodness..... no wonder people think Christians are crazy. I can only imagine what John or Paul would say if they saw people acting like that...
 
Is the preacher really that confounded by the subject?

If I started writing in a strange language - esta es loco muchacho ... ils ont tous perdu la boule .... some might think I was drunk because they are hearing drunken gibberish jhgdk dkhudk lihdlih.

That red head at 4:10 was funny though - have to admit - Seriously, though it goes to show how contagious drunkenness is!

I once spoke the same kind of all-knowing idiocy as these two sanctimonious jackasses. I also "knew" how the Holy Spirit acted, and it could only be the way I approved of.

Have you ever been in a place where people start laughing? It's contagious!

There are tons of "joy" scriptures and the kingdom of God is fullness of joy. It is all foolishness to the natural mind of course. And there is always people doing some things in the flesh too.

There are always going to be people doing some things in the flesh too but the natural mind of man will throw everything out because of these excesses done in the flesh.

Jerm 51:39 In their heat I will make their feasts, and I will make them drunken, that they may rejoice, and sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, saith the LORD.

There is a rejoicing in the above also. And Paul protests by one and doesnt deny the one he has here

1Cr 15:31I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

Just recognize that the world loves darkness but we love light because we know truth.I'm not saying there Is anything wrong with laughing and whatnot,I'm saying GOD looks at the heart.

A lot of people here could be well advised to heed the words of Gamaliel when he told the Sanhedrin, "Be careful, you just might be fighting against God."

Following Christ is not in and of itself just selecting verses. She asked about a sober spirit. I provided a study on how to be of sober spirit and why.
She was not asking how to follow Christ. If she had asked that I would have had a different study to post:)

True..I wonder what Jesus did when He rejoiced greatly in the Spirit?

I can see the local internet headlines with the start of the church in Acts.

It is one manifestation of the kundilini. The Holy Spirit is not one to make you act like a crazy flailing around fool. Barking? Naw!
I have seen genuine holy laughter though.
