Hovind went to prison,I didnt know he was out yet. I think Mr Hovind needs to get right with the Lord first. Very disappointing. I was interested in him at one time but he needs to get right with the Lord.

It takes too long to listen.
Dr. Kent Hovind
You mean this? Nothing wrong with preaching repentance. The Bible is full of it.

A change ne for salvation”; however, under the subsection titled “Repentance,” Eric says something completely different, wrongly defining repentance as: “choosing a different attitude toward sin.” Eric further states: “A person who truly repents and trusts Christ alone for salvation is what a Christian is! The Bible says in I Corinthians 5:17 'Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.' Christians are marked by characteristics of their Savior, Jesus Christ. Christian means 'Christ-like.' Compassion, love, goodness meekness, humility, honesty, dependability—these mark the life of a Christian.”er

Why show me Eric's statements to tell me about his father? Are you saying there won't be a turning away of sin as well?

I thought you said there was something wrong with his son.
Kent Hovind has some things wrong, that Lucifer was created on day so and so and then fell, but that's not a salvation issue.

He was in prison for tax evasion. Unless he has publically repented, which I haven't seen, maybe you can link me to that. He hid things that he owned from the gov't. So I wouldn't say that was a person that was right with the Lord.

Yes,that may be true in your opinion. But the facts are that he hid income from the gov't and evaded taxes. There are a lot of preachers out there, why would Hovind been targeted more than anyone else and sent to prison? Whats so special about him? He did wrong and he needs to admit it and get right with the Lord. So far he seems unrepentant.

Kent Hovind, 'Dr. Dino,' guilty on all counts

Kent Hovind has had several contacts with law enforcement, including charges of assault and battery, falsely declaring bankruptcy, making threats against federal officials, filing false complaints, failing to get necessary building permits, and various tax-related charges. He has been convicted of federal tax and related charges and is currently serving a 10-year sentence for these.

Hovind's Creation Science Evangelism ministry is not listed as a tax-exempt Code Section 501(c)(3) charitable, educational or religious organization by the Internal Revenue Service[SUP][27][/SUP] nor is it considered a church by people who work there.[SUP][28][/SUP][SUP][29][/SUP] Instead, Hovind's various educational and religious activities are run through an organizational structure which, according to the United States Tax Court, appears to be "based on various questionable trust documents purchased from Glen Stoll, a known promoter of tax avoidance schemes."[SUP][7][/SUP] The Tax Court has concluded that Hovind used these trust documents as well as other fraudulent means to conceal the ownership and control of his activities and properties

In 1996 Hovind unsuccessfully filed for bankruptcy to avoid paying federal income taxes. Hovind was found to have lied about his possessions and income.[SUP][31][/SUP] He claimed that as a minister of God everything he owns belonged to God and he is not subject to paying taxes to the United States on the money he received for doing God's work.[SUP][32][/SUP] The court ordered him to pay the money and upheld the IRS's determination that Hovind's claim "was filed in bad faith for the sole purpose of avoiding payment of federal income taxes." In the ruling, the judge called Hovind's arguments "patently absurd." The judge also noted that "the IRS has no record of the debtor ever having filed a federal income tax return," although this was not the court's reason for denying the bankruptcy claim.

In 2004, IRS agents raided Hovind's home and business to confiscate financial records.[SUP][35][/SUP] IRS agent Scott Schneider said Hovind's businesses had neither business licenses nor tax-exempt status. The Associated Press quoted Schneider as saying "Since 1997, Hovind has engaged in financial transactions indicating sources of income and has made deposits to bank accounts well in excess of $1 million per year during some of these years, which would require the filing of federal income taxes."[SUP][36][/SUP] On June 3, 2004, the IRS filed notices of Federal tax liens of $504,957.24 against Hovind and his son and their businesses due to previous legal maneuverings to evade taxation by moving property between himself, his son, and other legal entities.

I was in ministry for 20yrs and we were incorporated . The gov't is deadly serious when it comes to taxes. Obey the law and you wont find yourself in prison. Hopefully Hovind has learned that lesson.

Not trying to be nasty MsSuzanna but those of us in ministry dont take kindly to these sorts if people. It makes everyone in ministry look like a fraud and people are less likely to support true ministry.

The charges are structuring. So I assume you know what your talking about. Are you saying he lived next to joyce myers and hid all the money under his gold plated pool, or he needs to repent for taking his own money out of the bank to pay missionaries ?

I know nothing about Joyce Myers, heard her a couple times on tv. I dont have any of her books, totally know zip about her. I have little respect for the majority of televangelists. I think they are a long way from the babe born in a manger, the man who washed his disciples feet and died on a cross. I have no problem with a ministry making money, legally. But some of these preachers own several homes and cars,on and on. So why would Hovind be a target more than anyone else? Where are your facts that say he is not guilty? Because the evidence was pretty damning.

You want my opinion? He was indicted and convicted by a kangaroo court. It took 3 grand juries and a " secret one " to do so, and the man didn't put up a defense. The old saying is " you could indict a ham sandwich if you wanted ".

you want to slam someone ... Slam his son who has took what was his fathers, and kept it to his selfish and dishonorable self. Kid should be ashamed of himself.

His son did wrong but that has no bearing on what Hovind did. Like I said,no one had reason to target him more than anyone else. But we wont agree on this so I'll just leave it there.

I apologize I don't know what your were getting at, I don't know what his son believes, not to be mean... I just never seen or looked for his sons seminars or talks. I always liked his dad's debates and speeches. I just can't believe the news I heard how this man has been treated BY HIS FAMILY after coming home from prison and am some what livid about it.. How could he do that to his own dad? ... Unreal

Oh I didn't know that. His wife left him and his son more or less stole his stuff and then he preaches like that. I agree.
