well done... you have finally made a distinction between sanctification (ongoing process) and salvation (once died for all).

but of course you never knew those distinctions until now, because you don't read the bible in its CONTEXT
We are saved because we are sanctified (separated from the world and cleansed). We continue to separate ourselves from the world in order to continue receiving grace- which is our salvation.

oh and yes we cannot birth ourselves, only God can make us born again.

lol try the application of a baby being born through its obedience... gimme a break and read John 8 in CONTEXT

because the baby becomes born by its obedience hahaha
When we obey and become baptized GOD does the work. What work does He do? Spiritual circumcision of the heart (Colossians 2). But God will not do that work unless we obey and get baptized.

Amen..neither can we by an "act of our will" un-born ourselves as a human. We are born of the Holy Spirit and that birth cannot be un-done as much as we can un-birth ourselves naturally. It's another hole in the works-righteousness self-salvation doctrine.

1 Peter 1:23 (KJV)
[SUP]23 [/SUP] Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

So if you are saying that we are saved before baptism, that would mean that baptism does not save, because you would already be saved at that point, if that were true. Problem is, if that were true, that would make God out to be a liar when he says, baptism doth also now save you." God says baptism saves.

Look at Paul. Did believing save him? Did believing wash away his sins? No. Did fasting? No. Did praying? No. Ananias said to him, "What are you waiting for? Arise, be baptized and wash away your sins- which is calling on the name of the Lord.
Salvation is by grace not by water baptism. One gets water baptized after they are saved not as a means to salvation. Baptism is a work and refutes grace. Dead men do not get baptized in water to make themselves clean.

Acts 8 shows us Philip teaching the Eunuch about Christ through the scriptures in Isaiah. The Eunuch asks to be baptized and Philip asks him if he believes before he agrees to baptize him. This is the clearest presentation of water baptism in the entire NT.

Paul when he met Christ on the road to Emmaus believed on Christ before he was baptized and received the return of his sight.

Can you provide scripture that says you can lose your salvation by sinning?
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Matthew 7:21
A person would have to be born of Incorruptible seed.First, make the Inside of the cup clean and only GOD can do this for the person by grace through faith. If the person Is not reborn then they would be doing Matthew 7:21 on their own strength.

Ephesians 2:8-11
King James Version(KJV)

8.)For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9.)Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10.)For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

11.)Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

that made no sense whatsoever. yes we are separated and cleansed before we even are saved???? LOL shouldn't it be we are saved therefore that's why we are seprate and cleansed.

we do continue to separate ourselves from the world but not to keep getting juiced up on grace but to grow (sanctification) in our relationship with him.

to say that we are cleansed before we even heard the gospel is crazy talk. im a sinner and im cleansed and set apart lol NO WAY im a sinner and im FILTHY and in sync with this world.

I got that but someone must teach them the correct doctrine and refute error. Allowing them to continue is to agree with them.

Jas 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

I have found at least 7 things about doing the will of God on this earth now that we are in Christ.

1) That we have eternal life in Christ - John 6:40

2) That we be filled with the Holy Spirit - Eph 5:16-21

3) That we live a pure, disciplined lifestyle - 1 Thess 4:3-4 ( we live out that holiness that is already in us in our new man ..created in Christ in righteousness and holiness )

4) That we are rejoicing in the Lord, praying without ceasing, and grateful - 1 Thess 5:16-18

5) That we be a law-abiding citizen - 1 Peter 2:13-16

6) That we believe and influence others to believe - 2 Peter 3:9

7) That we commit ourselves to God and other believers - 2 Cor 8:5

According to the works-based salvationists...because we must do the will of God..if someone is not joyful one day or didn't pray for a couple of days...or was not grateful for a day or so and they died..then they would go to hell because they didn't do " the will of God"..( see #4 above )....how foolish this nonsense is when we do not factor in the finished work of Christ.

What about #5 above...if you speed and crash your car and die..you go to hell because you were not doing " the will of God"...again the complete foolishness of people that say..not doing the will of God are not
saved and we do not factor in the higher truth of being saved by grace through faith in Christ's work only.

The "doing of the will of God" for salvation is to believe on Christ and it is by grace through faith only - no works. Eph 2:8-9

The saint who rests in Christ and in His finished work is the will of God and what appears to be his free choices are actually God's will for him. It's loving God because you know His love for you, doing what is inside of you under His influence. Phil 2:13

Jude 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

OK?

What does the scripture say is the "will of God"?

Jesus did the "will of God"...and delivered us from this present evil world

Galatians 1:4 (KJV)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

It is God in us that gives us the will and the ability to do His will.

Philippians 2:13 (NASB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

The Will of the Father is to believe on Jesus.

1 John 3:23-24 (NASB)
[SUP]23[/SUP] This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.
[SUP]24 [/SUP] The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

The good works we do are from "being in Christ"..being lead by the Holy Spirit. Notice God has prepared them for us. We walk them out as we life our lives dependent on Him.

Ephesians 2:8-10 (NASB)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] For by grace you have been
saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
[SUP]9 [/SUP] not as a result of works, so that no one may boast
.

You are not saved until you get baptized. (Obeying the gospel). Only those IN Christ are saved, and baptism is how we get into Christ (Romans 6:3).

"With flames of fire He will take vengeance on those who (1) know not God and (2) obey not the gospel of His Son (be baptized into Christ).
I disagree with your point. I was saved before I got baptized and I was baptized because I was saved in obedience to Christ.
I think this is very important because baptism should be done by all who are believers but they were saved by the Power of the gospel as stated in Rom 1:16.

your context of contend is not ( IMHO) how I see the Gospel to be presented as the only means, Rom 1:16, John 3:16

obedience is evident of a heart transformed. not of a heart yet to be transformed. otherwise if so then your obedience wouldn't be coming out of your ne nature because you have not received that yet. it would be coming out of your old sinful nature. lol the same nature that loves darkness rather than light
All of those who have learned of the father (via his spirit) will come to Christ. That is the obedience of faith. Then they are reborn.

It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. John 6:45

The verses were to the Ephesians.. Christians grieve the Holy Spirit when we act unbecomingly to who we really are in Christ. When we do deeds according to the flesh.

It's interesting that the word "grieve" in Ephesians 4 is used of Jesus in Mark 3:5 where He was "grieved" at the hardness of people's hearts for not wanting to extend grace when Jesus wanted to heal a man on the Sabbath. Instead the religious group wanted their man-made traditions observed.

Perhaps what you are looking for is in that scripture too?

Nope,

but thank you,

the point is as you stated it is christians who are doing the grieving . And one WHO has the Holy Spirit is the only one who can do the grieving. The Old testament the Spirit of god would depart Samson read about him. in the New testament The Holy Spirit is in the Believer at the time of salvation John 20:22 . when did the disciples get baptized in water ? was it before the Crucifixion? by John? or after Jesus rose again? if it was after please show me where in the scriptures.

You confuse "baptized with indwelling spirit" with "baptized in water". You are young. I would advise you to run like hell and get away from the church that is teaching you works. You cannot please the Lord with this works mindset . Just some advice from a gal who went through a season where I was literally miserable because I allowed men to teach me perverted doctrine

I do believe that she believes that baptism of the spirit happens in the water. The witness of scripture and early church fathers do seem to strongly support this.
