yes God draws us to Christ that's scripture. what brings us to repentance, is believing what is in the word of God, wich says " unless you repent, you too will all perish." sin is not in any way acceptable to God. His word says plainly, sinners wont inherit Gods Kingdom. the thing is I don't really need to argue or debate, because the word of God is clear on repentance, and righteousness. we can talk the atonement, once we claim we are new creations, we are obligated to live that out. if someone you truly Loved with all of your heart, saved you from a burning building and died in the flames, left a letter for you of How they want you to honor their memory......What would a person do then? everyone just really seems to want to hold on to the world when we are called to be separate from it. sin will and has never been acceptable to God. Jesus dying doesn't change that, it forgives us for who we were in our former life, and His resurrection Gives us new birth into His righteousness. If I claim the righteousness of Christ as so many do, and live as a sinner who refuses to repent or even acknowledge what Jesus says about repentance, (wich is the first word in His ministry) do you understand what is happening there? what we are doing? we are representing a holy God, claiming His name, and Loving or serving the enemy. it brings the suffering of Jesus Christ Low to act as if it has no power to actually change a person from a sinner to a child of God. honestly when people try to diminish Jesus words, its offensive to a follower of Christ. sin is evil, righteousness is good. this will never change, ever in all eternity. whoever does what is good is of God, whoever does what is evil is not. 1 john 3:7-9. acts 10:34-35" I now truly understand that God does not show favoritism. but welcomes those from every nation who FEAR HIM AND DO WHAT IS RIGHT."

I get why the resistance ive seen it a long time and understand it, used to think it too. Only all throughout Gods word, it says do what is right. DO. follow. 1johnAnd now, little children, remain in Him, so that when He appears, we may be confident and unashamed before Him at His coming. 1 john 2:28-29If you know that He is righteous, you also know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him."

1john3:7 " let no one deceive you the one who PRACTICES righteousness is righteous."
3 john1:11 " dear friends do not imitate what is evil, but what is good, THE ONE WHO DOES GOOD IS OF GOD. The one who does evil, has not seen God."

Honestly its just scripture, I'm sorry no one accepts His word, its everywhere you look in the bible. a few statements of paul telling us about us being born again by faith, in no way changes our part in this. Christians one goal forever will be to follow the Lord Jesus Christ.. ....ill pray at least one person will change their thinking and turn their hearts to obedience, because I know how much it will do for their Christian Life. God bless.
I am not going to read your WALL of text! It is not necessary for you to give a sermon in a discussion.

I will reply to this though:
unless you repent, you too will all perish.
Who was Jesus talking to?

Also, who are the sinners?

I do not think you clearly understand scripture. I also do not get where you think some are advocating to go on sinning!

no one deserves or can earn Gods gift of new Life, what we can do though, is take the most valuable thing in existence and use it as a free pass to enjoy sin, because we really aren't saved until we are following Jesus. That's just Jesus words though, seems kind of irrelevant in this forum. When I stand and give MY OWN ACCOUNT of my every word, and action.....I want to hear One phrase " Well DONE my GOOD and FAITHFUL SERVANT....come and take YOUR INHERITANCE, a gift of the God you LOVE and SERVE.

I wont be explaining to God why obeying Jesus was somehow a "corrupt" doctrine lol. Ill just go ahead and actually keep my heart set on What Jesus says to do, and have that clear conscience knowing what He says and obeying it into true Love for My God who Loved me far more, and first. But......My heart is Just set on Loving God, and I take His description made so plain throughout. "if you Love me, you will obey my teaching." I wish we all could agree, but I'm gonna go with obeying the Lord is His will for me and any Christian. never would be found judging what someone else will be saying to Jesus at judgement either, that's again....Not what the word says to do. Children of God, love to follow the Lord, its their Lives, ill let anyone who wishes reconcile this in their minds and hearts : to do the will of God, is Gods will for you and I. DONT BE DECEIVED
I wont be explaining to God why obeying Jesus was somehow a "corrupt" doctrine lol.
Thats good. Noone here is saying that at least thats not what I am saying.

Covenant partners were called friends. IMO Jesus was referring to that rather than our concept of friend.
It says what it says. Your opinion has gotten you in the snarl of satan. You should not lean on your own understanding

Jude was writing about defending the gospel against gnostics, Judaism and other works based teachings of salvation. If you allow someone to contend that grace is metered out through mans works like water baptism or keeping of ordinaces then you allow a false gospel to prosper.

The bible is doctrine.

Jude wrote about defending the gospel ok but your idea of how it is to be done is not a one size fits all approach Paul addressed the statute to " The unknown god" would not that statute to this so-called unknown god be offencive ?
by what I think some believe Paul should have done; is say to the Greeks: you false teacher! and supporters of heresies ! You damnable teaching you do. That would have been ok :) but Paul did not do that did he? I am not allowing one to contend anything about water baptism in fact I posted very clearly what it is I think the bible says about salvation.

I guess my objective is not to prove those who post in the BDF that I am right and they are wrong because so many examples in the Word of God shows me a more excellent way :) LIke Paul did. I think Paul said it as the Holy Spirit gave it to him " That I might be all things to all men that I might win some."

But I could be wrong :)

I have a few questions for you who believe you can lose your salvation.

At what point or what sin will cause you to lose your salvation?
Have you always been 100% obedient?
Have you ever lost your salvation?
How many times have you been saved?

Now be honest with us.
Are you folks ignoring my questions or are the questions to difficult?

Paul never compromised the gospel. Paul was beaten many times for his proclamation of the gospel. Rationalizing a weak stand for Christ is never the right thing. Presenting the word of God without apology is the right thing.

Weak leadership is why there is a lack of bible discipleship in the church today.

Paul was no doubt making fun of the philosophers on Mars hill by addressing their unknowable god. Paul gave them the straight scoop on who He was and how they needed to know Him. Religious people are readily offended especially by the truth.

Maybe they're still searching for the answer in the Bible.:) You may never get a response.

Personally I love your questions.

I could answer them according to the gospel of the grace of Christ or I could answer them if I had a works-based mindset depending on my own righteous deeds. Of course the two answers would be in total conflict with each other.

The grace of Christ one would bring hope and "security" which leads to true "maturity" in the Lord.

The other would bring uncertainty as I would never know if I was doing enough to be counted worthy for heaven. I would live in fear and not really know if I measured up unless I compared myself to others that had less "visible" sin then I did. ( this also depends on what I think real "sin" is too )

But I will let the others answer. Great questions and they will reveal the "spirit" of what is behind what we believe.

Do you Love Jesus? honestly ?Do you Love God with alkl of your heart, mind, soul, strength? That is the Greatest commandment. What is it to Love God? If you Love me you WILL obey my commands. refusing to acknowledge obedience to Jesus, is refusing to Love Him. this is not my opinion, but Jesus Own Word, repeatedly. to hear the word and not do it is a deception, the man who will DO Gods word will be blessed in what He does.

Hebrews 10:26-27 "if we deliberately keep on sinning after we receive the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left. but only a fearful expectation of judgement and raging fire that will consume the enemies of God."

ephesians 5::5-7 " for this you can be sure, no immoral, impure or greedy person ( such a man is an idolater) has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one DECEIVE you with empty words, for because of such things, the WRATH OF GOD COMES ON THOSE WHO ARE DISOBEDIENT, therefore do not be partners with them."

Galatians 6:7-9 "do not be DECEIVED a man reaps what He sows. the one who sows to please His sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction, the one who sows to please the spirit, will reap eternal Life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not Give up."

Galatians 5:19-21 " the acts of the sinful nature are obvious.......v21....I WARN YOU AS I DID BEFORE that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God."

the wise and foolish builders, the many teachings of Jesus about working, serving, doing....its really throughout the word of God. Hearing only is a deception, and doing is the will of God. its all about whether a person really Loves God with all of their Heart....in doing that we Love each other. sin is not acceptable to God and will not inherit Gods Kingdom. God is Holy, that's why we are called to live holy Lives, called to do what Jesus says. its really plain and clear and abundant in Gods word. to really have salvation were saved, the issue is thinking the sinners prayer gives a person eternal salvation. Jesus Himself, Paul, james, peter ect....all say different, as does the ot, God Himself. so Jesus is to be taken most seriously
Why is it that those who believe salvation can be lost think we who know salvation is eternal live a life of sin?
I love and strive to obey my Savior because I have eternal salvation while you love and strive to obey to obtain salvation.
My salvation is based on what Jesus did, not on what I do.
While you doubt God's power to keep you saved, that YOU must help, I place all my hope in Him.

well again Paul was beaten many times and He was very much accountable to the word of God but he was also man who understood the Power of the Gospel message. Paul did not compromise amen but he was effective in his witness too. The point I am making is Paul did not run around Yelling at people False teacher !! damnable heresies!!!!! nope he did not. And that leave me to another point his method of contending for the faith was living a life that is pleasing to God and testifying of his encounter with Christ on the road to Damascus. what you say or think is a weak rationalization for standing for Christ is not how I see Paul in the book of Acts. Again my objective on BDF is not to prove one wrong but speak on what the bible says about the topic and let those who hear .... hear. it is between God and them Just as Paul did with the Greeks at mars hill. And if Paul was making fun of them can you please post the response of the greeks . context is important .

I think that's a very silly thing to say.... whose understanding is he supposed to lean on? Yours? Mine?

He is to rely on his own understanding as the Spirit grants to him..

It's relying on OTHERS' understanding that gets us in trouble.

The people worshiping an unknown God were not Christians promoting what others believe to be a false gospel of salvation by works. Just to be clear, I don't go around accusing others of spreading damnable heresies. :) But it does puzzle me that anyone could think water is what saves when all of Scripture points to the saving power of Jesus Christ our Lord.

I don't think you can lose your salvation..... but you CAN give it up willingly, and walk away from God.

Sinning, and coming back to God does not lose us our salvation, because our sins are washed away, continuously, if you will.

Deciding we don't WANT the gift God gave us will cause us to "lose" it, but it's really been rejected, not "lost".

Do you think the indwelling spirit creates lesbians? Your niece is a perfect example of a false conversion

"Love the Lord thy God with all your heart, with all your mind, with all of your soul and with all of your strength"....."If you Love me, you will obey my commands." simplicity. pauls unwravelling of the atonements power does not in any way nullify Gods Word, The same as Jesus Words. if obeying Christ is a problem to hear, people need to think about who the Lord of their Lives is. the sinners prayer actually obligates you, or you are lying when you say "I repent of my sins, I make you my Lord and savior" The simple fact that cant be argued, is that if your commitment to Jesus isn't more than your commitment to even your own Life, your own children you are not worthy of Jesus these are his own words . in His words...if you will not give up everything you have. you cannot be my disciple. if you will not pick up your croiss daily, deny yourself and FOLLOW me, you cannot be my disciple.

If we end up denying many words of Jesus, just gotta get out of the tidal wave of herecy and just trust Jesus words, they cant fail you. Jesus IS. He knows the best way. you will find no words of God, or Jesus that say its okay to sin, or its not necessary to follow. Paul understood obedience He wrote many many things concerning it as well as "grace and faith"

None of us are in a position to decide that. That's between your niece and God. She is the one that knows where she is in her walk with God.... not us (or you)

We are ALL sinners, in one form or another, just trying our best to walk in the Light...
