but related to the total amount of evil in the world, what do they want to accomplish now that they can't do... assuming satan is bound?

They are referred to as Satan's 'power' in scripture.
He cannot be there in person, or lead them directly, presently.
When he becomes unbound, then he will lead them directly, and that, my friend, will be all she wrote...
What Mr. Bowman is trying to explain is that Jesus binded him. his demons are free to roam though, they're like baby gators compared to a 14 footer.
1 Peter 5.8

Be sober-minded, watch, the adversary devil of you walks about as a roaring lion seeking whom to devour;
This passage does not refer to ‘The Devil’ himself, as ‘diabolos’ is anarthrous (i.e. it lacks a preceding Greek definite article).
Further, ‘ho antidikos’ (the adversary) is used in only one other NT passage, Mat 5.25, and is in the context of being thrown into prison.
The presence of pure evil ... I don't want to know what that looks like Mr.Dan, but right now is a sand box compared to if he had free reign, I believe.

He is a roaring lion seeking whom He may destroy, If Satan is not attacking us then we need evaluate our self. Secondly, Jesus return would be some what underrated if he fought baby alligators doncha think?
I totally agree that there is evil in the world now, and assuming satan is bound now, there will be a lot more later on.

He is going to have free reign in the tribulation, do y'all read the bible? This so called doctrine of satan being bound had no biblical proof and is a sneaking, soothing, flesh loving doctrine. If he is bound then why are tempted, He is the tempter. Satan is heaven right now standing before God and accusing you and me. Nothing has changed since Job, when God asked Satan where have you been and he replied "walking to an fro in the Earth"
Now I will agree that he is defeated and at the name of Jesus he must bow and obey, yes he is bound by that and only that. Yet, he still works through people who do not accept God and uses them as God uses a believer. If satan can use people then how is he bound? what is his binding?

This is the same description as the beast in rev 17:7, which is a city, Rev 17:9, 17:18, Rome.
This is a picture of Rome becoming a nation again, "crawling out or the pit".
How is Satan bound?
He cannot deceive the nations, 20:3, Gog and Magog, 20:8
When he "the dragon" (Rome), is loosed, who does he deceive? 20:7
The nations which are in the 4 quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog. 20:8
When they are deceived, what do they do?
Compass, (surround), Jerusalem and the camp of the saints.
Satan, the dragon (Rome), cannot destroy Israel until they are restored to Jerusalem.
Rome was restored as a nation in 1929.
