Grace through faith AND the law dont mix?

Amen..,,well said....that is a better way of saying it..and we are dead to the law. The law is still there, it's just not for the believer whom is righteous. 1 Tim. 1:9

"..the law is not made for the righteous"

Jesus is our righteousness and we are created in Him in our inner man in righteousness and holiness. We need to get a revelation of this and walk out who we already are in Christ.

Amen....grace supplies the faith when you hear about Christ and what He has done for us.

Obedience to the faith is to believe in what Christ has already done with His finished work on the cross and resurrection and to live by grace through faith in His work only. That your sins are forgiven and you are now in Christ and are a new creation - created in righteousness and holiness.

The true gospel of the grace of Christ is wonderful and liberating and makes us fall deeper in love with the Lord!

If you always walked after (followed) the spirit. you would be sinless.. because he would never lead you astray, It is when you get out of step with the spirit (thus no longer following) that we mess up...Just saying.

Obedience comes through faith. But our faiht is not always strong.

Tts 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

Tts 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Romans 1:5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:

Ephes 3:7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.

here is what I see on those verses.

Because of Grace I was saved,

Because I am saved, I can now be obedient.

So because of grace comes obedience yes, But if salvation is not a fact. then grace will not bring obedience, There can be no obedience apart from being born again, and given the spirit of God. All the grace in the world will not bring on pure obedient act. ie, faith and repentance ust come first before one act of obedience is even possible.

I believe a Christian can live just like a lost person to the point that you can't tell them apart. God does not make a believer "abide" in Him. This is about our service (discipleship). IF we choose to abide in Him after we are saved, we will bear the fruits of the Spirit. If not we won't. There are all different levels of this. The only way a Christian can bear the fruits of the Spirit is by abiding in Christ (John 15:1-8).

I believe abiding means to meditate on Him and His Words to us. To continue or remain in the knowledge of His grace, and embrace His truth daily. Without this we cannot be "sanctified by the Word", and will not be renewed in our thinking. These things are not automatic when we are saved, it takes cooperation on our part. No cooperation, no fruit.

And no fruit, no salvation. Unfruitful branches are broken off and cast into the fire (John 15, Romans 11:21-22).

See this guy believes God will save people who God knows will never have any fruit..

What does that say about God?

No, His faith saved him, His obedience was made possible because he had faith.

Abraham believed God and it was accredited to him righteousness, Before he did one work.

Wow, you just literally said Abraham earned his salvation by works..

Faith comes first, but an obedient faith will produce good works=good fruit. Remember these, we are saved by grace through faith, and also grace reigns through righteousness, and a proof of this conversion is that sin will have no rule over your life if you are truly under grace.

Here's an old post I wrote which explains how Grace, faith, and even righteousness is imputed to us as a gift, but the proof of this being active in a person who claims to be in Christ will be in the fruits they produce.

The grace and the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ is a gift as is shown here….

Romans 5:17 “For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)”

Romans 5:21 “That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Galatians 2:21 “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.”

But if we are to reign with Christ by the grace of God, and to also abide in His righteousness, do we then walk in unrighteousness? For all unrighteousness is sin. (1 John 5:17)

Romans 6:13 “Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
2 Corinthians 5:21 “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Again if we are truly made a new man in Christ, and Christ is truly in us, do we continue to walk in unrighteousness?

1 Peter 2:24 “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”

So truly you will know who is, or who is not, in Christ by their fruits.( Matthew 7:20)

1 John 2:29 “If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
1 John 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
1 John 3:10 “In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.”

1 John 2:6 “He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
