So according to you we are at war with the deciet of the devil not the devil himself.
To apply this logic I would ask who is the U.S.A. at war with if Russia fires a nuclear weapon at them. The nuclear weapon or Russia? According to your understanding we would be at war with the nuclear weapon itself. So we see both inside and outside of scripture your logic does not apply.

Just to understand a little further if some guy punched you in the face with his fist your face is in a fight with that said fist and not the guy. Notice that once the fight begins the face has been separated from you and the fist has been separated from the guy. Its now just the face and the fist that are in the fight. Gotcha I see.

I don't know what preterists' stand is regarding Sabbath-keeping. I was speaking in general of others who put them selves under parts of the law as a requirement for salvation, the keeping of the Sabbath on Saturday being one of them, opposed to trusting in Christ alone for their salvation.

The dragon who is Rome here (ch 12), is the same dragon in Rev 20:2 that is cast into the pit, v 3.
He can't destroy Israel until they are restored to Jerusalem, that is the chain, (Rev 12:14-17)
When Rome comes out of the "pit"(government revived), The Bishop of Rome, Caesar, deceives Magog to surround and kill Israel who is restored to Jerusalem.
This is the same picture as the 2 witnesses, restored to Jerusalem. The beast, (Satan, dragon, Rome) comes out of the B.pit at the 5th trumpet.

I see there are some who still mistakenly think Rome is the "Beast of the Sea" that John spoke of in Rev 13. Those who think this are not correctly interpreting the Harlot (Mystery Babylon). The key to understanding the identity of the Beast is to first understand who or what the Harlot is. The Beast "carries" or supports the Harlot.
There can be no doubt that the Harlot is a False religion and the mother of all false religions. If Rome were the Beast, then the Harlot would have to be the Roman Catholic Church. The RCC is not, and cannot be, the mother of all false religions. The RCC has doctrinal problems as all denominations do to various degrees, but the RCC church recognizes the true God and His Son Jesus. The RCC recognizes the Holy Trinity and the Cross and the message of salvation. Therefore, the RCC cannot be the Mother of all False religions.
Scripture tells us that the Gates of Hell cannot prevail against the Church. But we are told the BEAST goes to hell. We are told this false faith is utterly burned. Christ would not have made Peter the Rock and founder of a Church that would be going to hell.
Further, the image that John gives us concerning the beast is that it had 7 heads, which are mountains, which are empires. Starting with Egypt, these 7 empires controlled Israel. Rome was simply one of the 7 historical empires. Daniel tells us that Rome is different from the others. Why, because Rome's peoples are different from the others. The other 6 peoples are the same or similar in heritage. We see that the one of the heads of the Beast was mortally wounded yet will come back to life. For Rome to be the head which returns, we must attribute all the clues given to the final beast to Rome. Rome simply doesn't fit most of the clues.

2. The Woman is located in a wilderness and John did not recognize her great city. Rome is not in a wilderness and John would have recognized Rome in any era. MECCA IS IN A WILDERNESS AND JOHN WOULD NOT RECOGNIZE MECCA
3. Italians do not thrown dust on their heads to mourn MUSLIMS MOURN IN THIS WAY
4. Rome is not located in a busy shipping lane today MECCA IS CLOSE TO THE RED SEA, THE SECOND BUSIEST SEA LANES IN THE WORLD. A NUCLEAR EXPLOSION OF EVEN THE TINIEST SIZE IN MECCA WOULD BE SEEN ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE RED SEA.

People are those who believe or believe not, or have faith or those who have no faith.
If the angels as messengers don't try an commune with people. Why would God send them? Or the god of this world send the 1/3 (Legion) that did fall?
Its is not common sense needed but what is needed is the "faith of Christ" (God's sense) that works in us. We reason by that faith of Christ or no faith at all.
