Life is a big classroom. Learning never stops. Recently I learned how to ride a scooter. It was more fun than driving a car. I guess it's because you can feel the wind blowing.

I have, at closer-than-forty-than-I-can-even-believe, started learning to dance. I wish I'd done it in my 20s, but I was a different Angie back then. I like this new Angie. :D

Awesome. What sort of dance? I tried zumba but it's sort of a work out dance and not really a graceful dance. I'd like to learn a real dance. Maybe ballet but I might break my bones. Lol!

Hey guess what I just learned! I learned you can get almost anybody to listen to what you have to say if you start by saying "Hey guess what I just learned!"

Well... it worked didn't it? :p

I was never "naturally" a good dancer, but when I was in the Military, a group of us would go dancing and it seemed like most people could dance and I looked like Steve Martin in that movie, "The Jerk" with no rhythm. There was a woman that I worked with (who danced like Janet Jackson) and she helped me out a lot. I remember her telling me on the dance floor, "loosen up Jethro!" Lol :D

After observing my nine year old daughter in class recently, I learned most boys her age are at a disadvantage.

I learned that pain lasts a thousand times longer than happiness, and that a long dull pain can completely change a person, whereas a temporary intense pain only hurts for a short while..

I'm learning East Coast Swing! Lindy Hop, Balboa and Charleston are mixed in as well. I'd never danced until recently. I've never been athletic or musically inclined. I started Zumba a few years ago and enjoyed it, and I think it gave me the courage to move on into other things. You should consider a social dance, Tink. It's a good way to burn calories, create endorphins, and make friends. :D

I learned that if you don't exercise and sit around all day your body gets very weak and starts having these weird problems like random backaches and shoulder aches and today I woke up with a really painful leg cramp. Also, I feel tired a lot and am always cranky and don't want to be around people at all. I should probably start exercising again..

Theres that saying that a body in movement is healthy and a body in idleness grows weak. We either move it or lose it. We will get stiff. We have to keep moving and working our bodies.
A fit body is also not only strong but attractive and we just feel better.

Blessings!

Exercise literally saved me from depression four years ago. It gave me an outlet for stress, distraction for my mind, made me feel better, lifted my spirits... Get out there and do it! You'll thank yourself later. :)

Right now I'm learning some groups I have never heard of before are pretty good. Like Bryan Duncan and Palisade. I love it when I get in a new batch of CDs. :D

I'm learning to live.

Just came back from a little mountain town. I took my mom out there for the day as a belated mother's day gift. I've been avoiding people, but it was a pleasant respite from the mundane - for both of us.

I've learned a trick for pain.

The trick is...not minding that it hurts~ Lawrence of Arabia

When we mind the pain, we falter, we fall into self-pity, self-doubt, become wretched as our pain. But if we allow ourselves to feel the pain of life, experience it without fear or trepidation, then we endure it, can learn from it, and leave ourselves open to feeling joy, love, open to experience beauty and peace.

Pain is ephemeral, even emotional pain. It is love that endures.

I was learning to drive 2 weeks ago. I'm learning how to have peace in God, reading books about it. I'm learning to build my faith up. I'm learning to stretch my imagination. Hmm what else. Oh I'm still learning (and enjoying) loving people in ways that are not destructive. I'm learning about how to deal with them, having boundaries and stuff. I'm re-learning web development and having fun with it. I'm learning to read romance fluffy stuff >.<

The hardest thing and I think one that will take me a lifetime to learn, is loving others and myself, despite their/our differences and failures. I believe it's one of the most fulfilling though.

I really wish it was that simple. I wish I could explain all the stuff I am dealing with but I don't want to air it all out on a public forum. I don't think anyone here has any idea what I'm going through. It's not just the grief from losing my father, or not having anyone to talk to, or being treated unfairly and being shunned by family, or being confined to my room because the house has been virtually taken over by others... there's even more to it than that.

I agree that life is complicated. It's ironic. Those who seem funny and can make people laugh with less effort like you are those who go through a lot of pain. Whatever it is, may God give you strength to endure it.
