The notion of hell makes God an unjust sadistic fiend. There is no justice in a doctrine of hell.
It makes God sovereign. You judging God now? You deny scripture.

Do you believe demos exist?
A good few people get visions of hell fire, but I can tell you, the visions are not from our loving father.
They are from the father of lies.
This view is said to have been the under disguise to annihilate hell in the bible. "Torture" is not a keyword for those who were inflected or imposed with penalty for the reason of offense. God will not torture but will punish offenders.Even Hitler's victims were given the respite of death. The idea of my God sadistically torturing people for all eternity is morally repugnant to me.
People who preach the gospel of hell have a very large misunderstanding of God's character.
Hi MsSusanna,
I disagree. I just did another indepth study on both Sheol (Heb.) and Hades (Gk), which are referring to the same location and which should never be translated as grave or tomb. The Hebrew qeber is the proper name for tomb, sepulcher and mnémeion is its Greek counterpart. Sheol/Hades should always be translated in the original to make a distinction between grave or tomb from the place of departed spirits, which is Sheol/Hades. Here is Strong's definition of both:
Strong's Concordance
sheol: underworld (place to which people descend at death)Original Word: שְׁאוֹל
Part of Speech: Noun Feminine
Transliteration: sheol
Phonetic Spelling: (sheh-ole')
Short Definition: SheolNAS Exhaustive Concordance
Definition
underworld (place to which people descend at death) the underworld,
Or shol {sheh-ole'}; from sha'al; Hades or the world of the dead (as if a subterranean retreat), including its accessories and inmates -- grave, hell, pit.
HELPS Word-studies
86 hádēs (from 1 /A "not" and idein/eidō, "see") – properly, the "unseen place," referring to the (invisible) realm in which all the dead reside, i.e. the present dwelling place of all the departed (deceased); Hades.
Hades, the abode of departed spirits
From a (as negative particle) and eido; properly, unseen, i.e. "Hades" or the place (state) of departed souls -- grave, hell.
Just as the event of the rich man and Lazarus, Sheol/Hades the place of departed spirits. The scripture shows both men alive and then dying and then scripture shows the spirit of both men in Sheol/Hades, aware and conscious.

Nope, just your flawed interpretation of it.
You speak of only one nature of God.What is conscious eternal unquenchable eternal fire if it isn't torture.... and how can any compassionate person so indifferently perpetuate it.
Well even a child understands the story of lazarus and the rich man .
You speak of only one nature of God.

Of course it seems morally repugnant! No one likes the idea of hell...but honestly by your comment your making this more about what YOU feel than what the truth is...
Sirk doesnt care for the truth. He already has a bone to pick with me over spreading the gospel. He doesnt like that idea eitherOf course it seems morally repugnant! No one likes the idea of hell...but honestly by your comment your making this more about what YOU feel than what the truth is...
Yes, I believe in demons. I also know to test everything i see or hear...so i was hearing from the father of lies because our God is so loving he couldn't do that? Is that what your saying?
Do you wanna talk about justice? Or how about mercy?
What gospel is that?Sirk doesnt care for the truth. He already has a bone to pick with me over spreading the gospel. He doesnt like that idea either

Call it what you will, Sheol, Grave, Hades, Hell the result is the same...eternal torment.
Nothing sadder than word game players bickering over hell when many are heading for that way.
Against the black backdrop of eternal doom the Gospel shines brighter. No wonder, there's little interest in the Gospel, it has been dressed up to look like the world's faire.
