I would love to know what freedoms my generation died defending in Iraq and Libya? I haven't seen any of my freedoms ever even be threatened.

YEAH!! Don't you dare say negative things about our soldiers fighting for freedom! Even though it's 100000% true...and the notion of freedom being fueled by the blood of impoverished, illiterate people all the way on the other side of the world is highly questionable...

If you want to condemn our political leader for sending our soldiers to fight, fill free to do so. I will join you.
But to condemn those young men and women for following orders is wrong, and it offends me.

Everyone is missing the point of this poem. It is to remember the soldiers who have passed over generations of fighting battles for our country. It is also to remind everyone that we are all brothers and sisters in reality. That maybe we should be kinder to each other as we have all lost people in our lives to defend our country. That maybe we should grow up and realize what they have done for us and be kinder to each other.It is also about how full of hate and anger the US has going on in it now and our past ancestors who did die for our freedoms would be angry with how we are all acting.

Says the conspiracy man. Believe in your theories but DO NOT denigrate the lives of the men and women we have lost or have been maimed. Without those solders there would not be one Jew left in this world today. They are heroes, w have freedom because of them,we have free speech because of their willingness to leave family and home behind, to leave their children parent less. That makes me righteously indignant!!!! It is offensive! As someone who has family that have served in the military,for you to denigrate their sacrifice,to say these men and women aren't heroes!! I better stop before I say something that gets me banned. Brother Utah,take over for me. I just cant....

Exactly what was said about Hitler. Why should I care? It doesn't touch my life. While over 6 over million Jews were being burned in camps. While they were clawing at the walls to escape gases. Why should we get involved? Let him have Germany. How did that work out. Found with our pants down around our ankles. And how many had to die because no one took evil seriously? How many people are killed in these countries, children starved and then gassed in Syria. How easy it is to sit in our comfort and let evil spread.

Do you feel the same way about Nazi soldiers in WWII? They were just following orders every time they put a bullet in a Jew's head. Where in the world do people get this notion that you are exempt from moral behavior if someone else tells you to do an evil act?

If I tell you to go kill somebody and you do it, you aren't "just following orders". You killed somebody. The blame doesn't just magically fly over you and come to me.

These soldiers signed up for it. They have freewill. Stop following these insane indoctrinated ideologies.

Also, I would just like to add that if it wasn't for these "nice guys just following orders", evil presidents/emperors/rulers wouldn't have any power.

I still have yet to hear why a government is more legitimate than the Italian Mafia, even though they are ran the exact same way.
