Greece and Turkey (who incidentally hate each other) have done a deal to enable Greece to send refugee boat people back to Turkey. We haven't been told what the deal is but my guess is that Turkey get brownie points regards Europe. I think despite Cameron's protests it is a sure-fire thing for Turkey to join the EU when it can be done as much under the radar as possible. I DO NOT TRUST CAMERON! I do not believe a word he says!

We have the same problems here with PC but the pushback is much tougher than over there I think. They already jumped the shark here pretty bad though. I think it already peaked. The fact that we are armed forces the open boarder elements to move slower. I know you guys don't have firearms but I still expected you guys to fight over London, but nope.

They have us fighting over where to use the bathroom right now so I suppose we shouldn't get too cocky.

I think the bathroom issue will be on the agenda here too sometime in the not-too-distant future.

The whole world has gone mad. Come back Jesus - soon?!

Uhm forget it. the main 3 points to enter the EU are:
1, it must be a democracy and that includes all woman rights, equal rights against discrimination, freedom of speech, and helping people financially and all even in his own country..
2. They must have a free market economy with competitive companies and so on
3. They must encourage/support and promote the ''mutual ''EU goals

Barack Obama: Britain must vote to remain in the European Union

Barack Obama has urged Britain to stay in the European Union, saying that
the sacrifice of his country’s soldiers during the Second World War means
America has a stake in the referendum debate.

Obama is a donkey, The U.S. doesn't have a stake in the European Union. We went to war in Europe to keep the fight from coming to United States soil. As a U.S. citizen I say Obama needs to shut up and go back to Chicago, Hawaii, Kenya, or wherever he came from. That idiot couldn't lead a starving hobo to golden corral.

I am going to put on my tinfoil hat and say the popular vote is there but it will be rigged somehow at the end of the day.

You are probably right. I am in favour of getting out but I really feel that it will be rigged by the powers that be. I believe it was rigged back in 1975 when we joined. The UK will then be heading for Hell. I hope I am wrong and we leave Europe to cope with the mess Brussels created and enjoy the company of the eight million Turks waiting to come in.

I agree with you 100% Just heard that Austria just missed electing a Nazi for President. Its only a matter of time before
someone does and with every immigrant that arrives that time will be shortened.

The republic of Ireland did vote to leave but were made to have another Referendom and reversed the decision. The Scottish Nationalists want to remain in Europe. If the UK votes to leave I am not sure what will happen there. The nationalists are talking about having another Referendum to leave the UK. Thing is if they did they would have to apply for membership as an independant Country. The whole thing is a mess.

Cameron is trying every way to keep us in the EU. Getting your President to support him was one of several stragedies he has tried that has backfired miserably so far. However I believe the final vote will be rigged anyway.

Basically, the chances of Turkey getting EU admission is higher than it should be.

There are many factors that should prevent Turkey from joining. One is whether Turkey is really a part of Europe. The refugee deal is enabling them to slip under the wire. I expect the US to apply any time soon lol

You know I think every Christian I know who has given an opinion
on this subject, wants to leave. It's interesting that isn't it.

Its not due to racism or zensphobia, I think it's the fear and concern of what will
come about if we stay in.

Its odd that we are a democracy and get to vote for our country leaders. But
yet unallected people in Brussels who we don't know, are gradually getting a
bigger and bigger say on how the country is governed - not just us but all EU
countries.

Maybe it sounds a bit over the top but I keep thinking of the little horn
big horn in the bible. The EU is almost a type of Tower of Babal but with the
language barrier removed. Anyway that's not the reason for me wanting out and it's
just pure speculation on my part.

Currently there are 28 member states in the EU. I can see a time in the future
where Brussels will have power over them all and any self governing will be
a token gesture in each country. That is what bothers me the most.

I work in the civil service and you won't believe how much of my job now has
to be done in accordance with EU rules. Even the financial aspect of my job is
set based on the value of the euro. We don't even have the euro in the UK but
it is one of the stipulations to promote fair competition across businesses.

But yet fair competition is not applied to welfare, housing, schools, NHS etc.
So anyone from another EU country can use our services, but they are not
required to bring their services up to our standard in other EU countries.

I think the large businesses like the EU, it makes it easier to do business if
everyone is on the same playing field. But then the EU is crippling the
welfare state and social state with the swelling of the population and Brussels
thinks that is ok.

Brexit is necessary to protect NHS from TTIP, says David Owen | Society | The Guardian

The NHS will be at risk of further privatisation if Britain stays in the EU because
of the major trade deal being negotiated with the US, David Owen will say on Wednesday.

Lord Owen, who was health secretary for Labour in the mid-1970s before co-founding
the SDP, said it would be impossible to take the NHS back to its original purpose
unless the UK votes to leave in the June referendum.

Speaking to the Guardian, Owen said the Transatlantic Trade and Investment
Partnership (TTIP) between the EU and the US could put the NHS in “serious
danger” unless there are more special protections to exclude the health service
from the terms of the deal.

Under the clause of TTIP that most worries campaigners, US companies will be
able to sue governments for pursuing policies that harm their business.
A legal opinion commissioned by Unite argues the deal would mean privatisation
of elements of the NHS could become irreversible for future governments that
want to restore services to public ownership.

“The legal opinion is very clear that there are a myriad of dangers if health comes
under the current TTIP system,” Owen said.

“The government could apply for an exclusion but even if we do that we are still
left with the problem that the EU has gone more and more into the health service,
because as more marketisation comes in there it becomes a greater justification for
not treating it as an exception ... such as the insistence on putting more and more out
to contract.”

EU referendum: Brexit 'could damage NHS', health boss warns - BBC News

Leaving the EU could damage the health service, NHS England chief
executive Simon Stevens has warned.

He said he took warnings of possible recession in the event
of Brexit "very seriously", adding that would be "very dangerous" for
the service.

"When the British economy sneezes, the NHS catches a cold," he said,
adding it would be a "terrible moment" at a time when the NHS needed
extra investment.
Vote Leave's Lord Owen said staying in the EU was more of a risk.

Follow the latest on the EU campaign
The UK's EU vote: All you need to know
With little over a month to go until the 23 June referendum, rival camps
are highlighting the core issues of the economy and immigration.
Mr Stevens's comments come after Bank of England governor Mark
Carney warned voting to leave the EU could hit the economy, saying
that the risks could "possibly include a technical recession".

Note that both sides of the camps are batting at the same time.

One says it would be bad for the NHS, the other says it would be good.

One says it would be bad for the economy the other says it would be good.
Etc etc.

I suspect people will be so confused by the whole thing that most won't vote
unless they have a vested interest Ie people in the finance, banking industry and
people who have businesses which are connected to the EU will want to stay.

I think the vote will swing to remain in but only because most won't vote in it due
to the confusion and the ones that want to stay, will vote.

If we stay we will lose all power and respect within the EU as they will know they have
got us where they want us.

I heard a great debate on 5 live radio today which went on for some time. One of Cameron's "closest friends" and someone who helped him win the election, now living in the United States (visiting UK) has come out in favour of us leaving. He has called Cameron's blatant one-sided argument for staying in "laughable" and went on to give reasons why we should vote "out". It was very interesting listening. He insists Cameron should remain in power if we do come out and also insists they still agree on other issues.

The campaign is proving divisive.
