I don't know why I never really actually looked at this before, but recently, a friend showed me where the Bible said we are "justified" by Jesus' death, and "saved" by His everlasting life, or continued existence. It's obvious, but it is just one of those things we tend to look at, yet never let it register.
Funny how much we never really think about.
This is true in the sense that what really saves us is receiving the Holy Spirit, but it is the blood of Jesus washing away our sins, that causes us to have the Holy Spirit.
If we do not have the Spirit of Christ,we are none of His.If we have the Spirit,we are not under the law, which means the law cannot touch us for prosecution. If we are led of the Spirit,we will not fulfill the desires of the flesh. If we are led of the Spirit,we are a son of God.
What saves us is receiving the Holy Spirit, and anything short of that will not save us,for by the Holy Spirit we are spiritual, and not fleshy, something they could not attain to in the Old Testament, until Christ came.
We are saved by receiving the Holy Spirit, and repentance, and the blood of Christ, open the door for us,and pave the way,for us to be able to receive the Holy Spirit.
It is all about receiving the Holy Spirit.
Jesus' resurrection is rising to newness of life by the Holy Spirit, which falling short of that would not save us,for we must believe in the blood of Christ, but we also must believe in His resurrection, which if we do not believe in His resurrection we fall short of salvation.
