EXCERPT:

The Trump who now extols veterans spent years clamoring for New York City’s politicians to take action and ban even those street vendors with special disabled veteran’s licenses from the environs of Trump Tower.

As was reported in the New York Daily News, Trump wrote in a letter to the New York State Assembly back in 1991, “While disabled veterans should be given every opportunity to earn a living, is it fair to do so to the detriment of the city as a whole or its tax paying citizens and businesses?”

He went on, “Do we allow Fifth Avenue, one of the world’s finest and most luxurious shopping districts, to be turned into an outdoor flea market, clogging and seriously downgrading the area?”

He was still at it in 2004, when he wrote a letter to Mayor Mike Bloomberg.

“Whether they are veterans or not, they [the vendors] should not be allowed to sell on this most important and prestigious shopping street,” Trump declared.

If you built a house in a nice neighborhood and vagrants were peeing on your sidewalk you'd complain to city hall too.

Nice, huh? “Oh they can make a living. I just don’t want their dirty crippled selves selling stuff near my totally classy buildings.”
People might say, “C’mon! That was back in 1991!”
He was doing the same thing in 2004:

Trump Loves Veterans? This Is What He Thinks Of ...

So, was he sincere then as well?

Judging by how adept at the NYT are at twisting peoples words I just can't take this at face value. Not sure how you can.

If they were disabled Vets, I'd find a way to help them......like maybe spend some of my billions to rent a Porta Potty for them? Dunno, help them find assistance?

I mean, IF I WAS SINCERE about my LOVE FOR VETS.

NYT wasn't the only one to report on this, and Trump has not denied it either.

Sure, easy to say........don't take it at face value, because it paints a whole 'nudder picture of this warm, sincere, honest savior of America.

Guess WE ONLY take at face value the reports of "nice things" said about him.

'He has not shown any honor': Angry veterans...
Don't you find it the least bit curious that part of their slogan involves Trump fomenting hate? The other thing is that you just automatically take it as gospel truth. Let's give Trump a chance to speak on it. I have a suspicion that all isn't as it appears. Trump is pretty good at getting things out in the light thus far.

Actually, I don't take it as gospel truth. However, I do know that when top tier news outlets report a story, there are others who will "fact check" their stories......and if there is a problem with their story, it will come out fairly quickly. I've seen examples of this many, many times.

What I do know is that those who have sold out for Trump ONLY want to acknowledge the POSITIVE stories/reports about him, and insist that the NEGATIVE stories/reports are just made up junk to attack him with. Does some of this go on? Sure. As it does for every other Political Candidate. But to believe that ALL of the stories/reports are just "made up" is being childishly naive.

Tell ya what. I WILL make a deal with you. You stop filling the Forum here with all the PRO-TRUMP propaganda, and I'll stop with all the NEGATIVE propaganda. And, we'll just sit back and see how it all plays out. However, if you insist on continuing to beat the Trump drum............I will have to continue to reveal the WHOLE TRUTH about Trump.

None of the politicians are treating vets honorably anyways...in fact nobody is. They (we) don't want to see them once they are back from the war. There is no room for people not fitting into our perfect society. Get them off the streets along with everybody else whom are bad for business:(

I think It was four months ago that Donald Trump decided not to debate and Instead raise money for the veterans.

I believe he said they raised around six million, which Is a good thing but the news reporter were asking him about accounting for the money because the vets didn't get the monies,so then Trump said he personally gave one million but he said the press was dishonest and then the press noticed that his(Trumps) one million wasn't made out until four months later.

If you think Trump is going to make America great again, you're probably part of the reason it's not great right now.

Trump's pattern of stiffing charities:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opin...3cdd5fe74204_story.html?tid=pm_opinions_pop_b

''The whole thing began with Donald Trump portraying himself as a philanthropist and promising to donate proceeds to charity. But the promised charitable contributions weren’t made. The veterans fundraiser? Well, yes. But it turns out Trump did much the same thing with another of his undertakings in the news: Trump University.
In the case of the fundraiser, Trump claimed at the event in January — and for days after — that he had raised $6 million for veterans’ charities, including $1 million that he “gave.” But The Post’s David Fahrenthold discovered that he hadn’t forked over that $1 million, or much of the other money raised, until Fahrenthold began making inquiries on May 23. That earned Fahrenthold the Trump moniker “Nasty Guy.”
