not "many" sound churches -- he's condemning "all" of them, with the sole exception of the one consisting of himself, his la-z-boy and his dog.
and he said in another thread that he doesn't receive the word of God by reading it ((though scripture says faith comes from hearing the word)); he gets his own, personal, special extra-biblical revelation.
and he said that what he does with all of his time is attack the church ((so he scatters, not gathers))
and he said that it is our onus to defeat Satan and sin ((though it is Christ who has already done this))
and he said that scripture does not need to be explained to anyone ((though the Spirit gave teachers))
. .
this is how Joseph Smith got the mormon church started.
he claimed a supernatural power informed him that no church on earth had or practiced the true gospel.
he claimed that he alone had been given special extra-biblical revelation.
he attacked all of God's churches, drawing people to himself through vanity & sensuality.
he claimed it was man's duty to defeat sin, denying the work of the cross - that no one has truly 'repented' until they are completely sinless.
he claimed to speak ex-cathedra, without needing to be explained.
what's going on here is that he's denying the power of the cross and the empty tomb - that Christ has atoned for all sin and that He was raised again the third day, so that whoever believes in Him, putting their trust in His finished work which has defeated sin, will be saved. that Christ has sent His Spirit to daily renew us and is Himself working on, in and through us to purify us from all sin, if we but confess it, and love Him.
. . but JL here is trying to teach you that "salvation" doesn't "save" -- he says the saved can go to hell. that even if you are saved, if you don't conquer sin yourself, so that you have no need of a savior, then no matter what trust you have in the Lord to keep you, you're going to hell. JL is telling you that Christ is worthless; that it all depends on you being as perfect as Christ.
he's not even giving you 1/2 of the gospel -- maybe 1/3. he's telling you that you live under Moses and that there is no sacrifice: one-shot deal; one sin, and "kablooie!" -- because he denies the one sacrifice that Christ made, which is sufficient for all, and by which all who are being sanctified have already been made holy.
this is whatchacall "a different gospel"
