(I saw that really happening at the nursing home a few weeks ago. Very hard not to laugh hard over the stereotype in real life.)

I'm a writer.

I'm a crafter. (I can copy a pattern and make it my own, but I'm not up to originality or highly skilled, so more of a crafter than an artist.)

I'm not an artist. Artists have a skill level I'll never get to. If I were an artist, there would be no knee in the foreground, and not so much darkness in the background. I see so many mistakes in that, plus, as TinTin just mentioned, I'm lousy at even noticing the background. lol

I think art requires being schooled in it, and I've never been passionate enough about it to go learn.

Writing! That's more my art. So, you see it more than you think. The use of words is my canvas.

(You're either going with my knee, which doesn't belong to a stuffed animal, or Mama and Baby Bear in the background. They're somewhere between statues and figurines -- whatever position gomes in a garden fit into that terminology. But they're hollow, so not stuffed either. lol)

Is that a Merrythought bear? I have seen Steiff, TY (plenty of TYs since beanie babies are TYs), and a Gund IRL, but I've never seen a Merrythought except in books. (Judging by the ears, he might be.)

Three countries lay claim to inventing the teddy bear. If you know Steiff, you know why Germany technically wins. You probably know about Teddy's (Roosevelt) Bear. BUT do you know the UK's claim? I like that one the best.

(I don't collect bears, as you can probably tell by the stuffies I have, but I also like reading anything about them.)

Na it says Hermann teddy 2000 on the tag.

On the label it says Teddy-Her Mann Gmbh 96112 Hirschald / Germany.
Stuffing polyester fibres. I don't tell teddy though, just in case i upset him, he
thinks he is real. Lol

If you use an image hosting site like imgur, you can fix that by editing the picture, it should let you rotate the picture.

Like I use imgur, if you look at your images, and put your cursor on one, it will show a little paint thingy. If you click that it will let you edit the picture. And you can rotate it however you want from there.

If I use my phone the photos is the right way up when I post. If I use my iPad to

sigh... my husband deals with a certain sort on a daily. you can pray for him, if you like.

My hubby used to be an HVAC mechanic on the street. After he broke his back, he landed a job as a steamfitter in a government base. First day at work, his boss asked him to do a job. He came back three hours later and asked, "What's next?"

Boss was upset. The job was supposed to take two weeks. Boss then taught him about "hiding spots," but warned him if he (the boss) ever caught hubby hiding out, he'd have to yell and report him. (Boss still calls John occasionally, to see how he's doing.)

They did work hard when they worked, but their main function was to repair leaky pipes. "Water main breaks" was hubby's job in the winter, so he'd have to go whenever the middle of the blizzard or cold snap was to make sure the pipes wouldn't burst.

There was a factory on the base run by steam and it was where the first batch of military uniforms came from for any new war our country has -- Yankee uniforms, WWI, WWII, Korea, and those spiffy Gulf War I desert camo. Every August the factory closed down. Textiles, so dust particles filled exhaust systems, and every crack in any place a pipe went through. In one week's time -- day and night -- eight guys fixed or maintained the factory that also sewed all the flags for every President and Presidential motorcade. And then the factory was closed. (And his nurse's aide worked at that factory when John was working their too.) And then the base. And then the hiding spots became Home Depot and Staples.

They spent a lot of time relaxing, but when the work was there, no one had time to lean against the shovel. lol

Hermann is to Steiff what Oxford is to Cambridge (or Yale is to Harvard.) They're the competition for THE name brand, just as good, but lesser known. Teddy shouldn't be upset. He is from royalty. He may not be a Bentley, but he's a Rolls Royce of bears.

John is beginning to look at tablets. At the speed he makes up his mind when it comes to buying new computer-related stuff, I suspect we're getting our first tablet when he gets home. We still will have excuses -- like waiting for doctor appointments.

Me? I'm as bad as ever. Two months ago he wanted a fan for his room, so I bought a snap-on. One that you can snap on to the side of a table, or let it sit no top of a sill or table. Today he finally got it out of the box. SERIOUSLY? Some fans are for USB ports? It never dawned on me to check. Worse yet, absolutely no memory of where I bought it anymore to return it. lol

He has a fan for near his computer when he gets home. Me? I have to buy him a new fan soon -- and check what it plugs into this time!

My (their) old blog had lots of those emojis on it. I'd link it, but haven't used it in years, and was informed a month ago that, unless I notified the site I blogged on that I'm using it again, they'd delete it. They deleted it.

I miss those emojis though -- a bear for all seasons. lol

Many of my bears have backpacks. At one time we were so broke we'd literally run out of money for a few days. So, we hid emergency money in their backpacks. They keep coming up with all sorts of reasons we can't use THEIR money. Mostly because "we have families to feed."

Personally? I've never seen them eat, but you just never know, so they have money in their backpacks and won't let us take it. So much for a mere cuddle.

I know. Most of our stuffies were bought for $5 or less. The tall one leaning into the container was given to me by a friend online when I first became disabled in pain. He kind of saved my life. And he started this whole nuttiness I have with stuffies. He was my first teddy bear in my life, and I was in my mid 40's. I used to be relatively sane at one time. lol

Fans need USB ports? Scratches head. Not seen any of those around these parts.
As far as I'm aware, ours still plug into the mains supply.

Wonder if they will have air fans in the future or wifi fans that don't plug into anything.
(Like air print etc). But then would that be called a cold air air fan!

Tablets are great, mini computers which slip into your handbag.
(even the word tablet means something totally different these days) lol

Its an age thing, I'm the same.

As a kid we wish we had everything, as an adult we think we have got everything.
Then around middle age, we start to realise we don't have it all. Teddies help at that point.
Then as we slip into old age we start think there is more to life what's the point in having it
all anyway!
