Do not forget that God also created the aspect of 'Time'. We always think time-related. God created time. He is not depending on time. So speaking of days, eternaty, and such things, is all very relative.

God called Himself: I am.

Cool huh? :)

yup

but thats kinda part of my argument "against" six day- creation. God can make the time as long or short as He wants to :p But it really isn't important, no matter if he made it in six days or a million years he still created a lot of awesome things

As a woman I am not called to pastor or to instruct a man in biblical matters. Am I out of line to rebuke those who border on heresy with regards to the very foundation of our faith.I just wanted to respond real quick to this imoss....to rebuke , means to straightly charge, while its no fun and needs much prayer, your only callin it what it is....and sometimes necessary. Seek the Lords advice, he wont lead you astray.

I think Moses' revelation of Creation took six days - then he had to rest!!

There's an interesting thought. Perhaps when Genesis says, "and that was the first day, 2nd day, third day" etc... it was not meaning that God did that on such and such a day, but that was the day it was revealed to Moses!. God rested means he stopped talking to Moses about it on the 7th day. Now don't stone me, I'm sure someone else has thought of this before.

The main thing is, that God created everything and he created it good. we can debate about whether or not 'Yom/Yowm' are literal days or not, this will go on and on and on.

the only thing to remember God created everything Good, no sin, which means no death.

I see you have not lost your sarcastic touch aspen :). I don't know why you cannot debate without Sarcasm.

And that is not what I said, and well you know it. maybe your conscience has been pricked with people pointing out the heresies you adhere to.

It is hard for some people to grasp that a loving God would send some people to hell but you cannot fight against God so be with God.

no, believe it or not, I am submissive by nature

I think that the world took longer than six days to create (no evolution though!) just that he spent more time creating it, as gods days are years and vica versa

I really don't know where people get the idea that the 'days' mentioned in Genesis were actually years.

Go back and read it again...

The Beginning

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 Now the earth was [a] formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

6 And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water." 7 So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the expanse "sky." And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.

Read on.. it quite clearly explains that there was evening (nightfall) then the sun came up again and it was THE NEXT DAY.

There's nothing complicated about it. Just as the sun goes down and then when we wake up it comes up, and we have a new day... so it was then.

The earth was created in SIX LITERAL days and on the SEVENTH day God rested. THE END!

What? I'm sorry I don't understand this question.

I also don't understand why people have to make simple things so complicated. Why is it so hard to believe that God created the earth in six literal days? Why, if we can believe in God, believe he died and rose again, believe he was born of a virgin mother, why can't we believe that he created the world in six days. I find this hard to dispute...it's right there in Genesis for us all to read.

If you can show me anywhere in the Bible where it says "and there was evening, and there was morning- the seventh day," I will gladly believe you. The Bible only states that on the seventh day He rested IN IT. What day do you think the writer of Hebrews is referring to in the 4th chapter? God is Spirit! Our literal seven day week is an image! A shadow of things to come. The Bible also says that we are to be circumcised on the eighth day. This is also an image. Spiritually, when the sun falls on God's Sabbath day of rest, that great and terrible day of the Lord will begin! And we must be circumcised on this day.
