Ghandi "I like your Christ, I do not like your christians, Your christians are so unlike your Christ"
The reason why some christians use this, is not as an encouragement to be more Christ like, but to be more worldly so they do not hate us as much. The core message behind hyper-grace is rules do not matter, do not condemn sin, just love the sinner and heap blessings on them and they will come into the kingdom, rather than in reality you are turning the church into the world and denying what love, righteousness and purity really mean.
Now it is blasphemy to say we are little gods. It is blasphemy to claim our words have command authority on their basis alone.
But the fact anyone saying blasphemy is a crime in their eyes, rather than, this is shocking that people should blaspheme the name of the Lord and impute Gods authority and power on mortal man. It is this very blasphemy the pharisees wanted to kill Jesus for, except he was God. And they were right, it is blasphemy if you are not God himself.
The arrogance of these people cannot get much higher when a teacher can say anything because he is a teacher, not the truth matters above respect or position. Do you not see what they are doing and claiming and yet also say they know the Lord. There is no bigger sign of heresy and walking away from the truth than this. A wolf in sheeps clothing, and many here who I would have called brothers and sisters have fallen for it all, without a moments notice, not even a blink of the eye.
And does sin or repentance come to their mind? Do they think that the Lord is not grieved and angry at such arrogance and self interest?
The fact that they regard this merely as a religious response, rather than reality shows the depths of their delusion and rebellion. But this rebellion has to become complete, and its fruit made plain before judgement falls. All sin leads to death, and when death comes, still they will not admit their rebellion, as it says in revelations,
The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk.
