Consider this: most of us only use about 10% of our total brain capacity. Even when praying and communing with God. What’s the rest for?

I think that claim is just a myth

after all, how would one know how much the full capacity is?

I think you will find that various brains were measured for usage and output, finding that people who were greater thinkers, or who were more mentally active, actually DID have more of their brains functioning. And there was still a whopping amount of identical grey matter unused.

They will have to search for my chicken brain first before they can measure anything

I have some friends who are into various things, and each of them never dreamed they would be able to reach goals they once thought were beyond attaining. They all speak of awareness they once thought didn't exist. My wilderness survivalist friends seem to have honestly reactivated mental senses they didn't even know they had, and that I cannot even find a glimmer of in my head.

Kind of reminds me of when the monk asked Kane, who was surprised the monk heard a grasshopper at their feet, "How is it YOU do not hear it?"

Kinda like someone's hearing gets better when they go blind?

I think they used it before the flood as a computer.
But then I only use 10 percent of it as a max
hahahahahahaha

You mean there were areas that never "lighted up"?
Because it is a well known fact that different areas of the brain is used for different things.
So if I listen to music in the dark, it is not too strange if the part of my brain dealing with sight isn't "flashing"

Not exactly. I'm talking about CHOOSING to develop a hithertofore unused sense or awareness.... not a natural thing your body does in compensation.

No, I am talking about.... suppose each of the three hundred areas (Hypothetical number, of course) that do light up at various times only ever lit up a fraction of that particular area.... say, 10% of that spot.... How would we learn, (or COULD we) to activate 40% of those same areas to be more aware in those circumstances?

Congratulations! That was the fear I expected to be expressed. LOL

Yet, it is written that Jesus often knew what others were thinking. Do we simply to play the "God card" here, and say He used His God part there, when He did not seem to have those supernatural powers in other areas?

Yet, you believed just the opposite yesterday.

If, in three years, someone comes up with a method of measuring brains that affirms the 10% idea, are you going to stand pat, or switch back? LOL
lol I didnt believe that yesterday lol. If someone told me I use 10 % I would ask since when I was so intellegent.. Imma stand pat

That is to be good at reading people
not how much of the brain capacity is used
:)

The folks I work with are amazing at reading each other. No words said, yet they know what to do in any given situation (and it doesn't have to be a kind of thing that happens so often it's a habit). I am slowly learning, but quite amazed at their ability to communicate without words or gestures.

I think you just said the magic phrase. You are slowly learning. So, you have to be employing some function that was not as well developed before. (Lighting up a tiny more of the same area that you have always used... only, more effectively, now.)

that is because more neurons are connecting....but that doesn't have to mean I use more of my total capacity
I haven't been programming in years, so I am forgetting that.

(I think my brain needs defragmentation :p )
