The main problem as i see it is too many people who have no training in Theology are trying to deceive us with what they want the Scriptures to say.
Badger58 is a good example of this. He has no former training in how to study the Scriptures and jumps to conclusions that are not there.
We have seen many false Churches today run by a person who has no training in Theology deceiving others with false Doctrines.
Is this really what God wanted?
2 Timothy 2:14-17
[SUP]14 [/SUP]Remind
them of these things, and solemnly charge
them in the presence of God
not to wrangle about words, which is useless
and leads to the ruin of the hearers. [SUP]15 [/SUP]Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed,
accurately handling the word of truth. [SUP]16 [/SUP]But avoid worldly
and empty chatter, for it will lead to further ungodliness, [SUP]17 [/SUP]and their talk will spread like gangrene.
We need to accurately handle the Word of God and i do not see this in this thread.[/QUOTE
Ah, the unbridled wellspring of wisdom found in the young. If only I could have stayed young! Woe is me.

Ancient Greek origin
It reminds me of a story I once read by Mark Twain as a youth: It went something this.
When he was a youth, he could not wait to move out of his father's house. He found his fathers ignorance to be intolerable.
So he ventured out into the world. After some years, he longed for some of his mother's cooking. He returned home, and after a fine meal, and conversation with his father, he was astonished at how much the old fool had learned.
Perhaps you are right to point out the obvious, that I have received no formal training(I think that's what you meant to say)
But after 40 years of studying God's word, I may not be as impoverished as you think.
I will give your advice all the consideration it deserves. Thank you for caring so deeply!
And yet the Spirit that guides me, has not allowed my ignorance to be so blinding, that I cannot recognize these words to be true.
Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary
7:19-35 To his miracles in the kingdom of nature, Christ adds this in the kingdom of grace, To the poor the gospel is preached. It clearly pointed out the spiritual nature of Christ's kingdom, that the messenger he sent before him to prepare his way, did it by preaching repentance and reformation of heart and life. We have here the just blame of those who were not wrought upon by the ministry of John Baptist or of Jesus Christ himself. They made a jest of the methods God took to do them good. This is the ruin of multitudes; they are not serious in the concerns of their souls. Let us study to prove ourselves children of Wisdom, by attending the instructions of God's word, and adoring those mysteries and glad tidings which infidels and Pharisees deride and blaspheme.
I praise you Father, that you have revealed yourself to the simple, and concealed yourself from the wise. Amen! Shalom
